A Shortage of apprentices - Germany?s neighbors are filling the gap | Made in Germany

In the past, young apprentices in Germany applied for positions in companies. Today many companies are vying for apprentices. Mid-sized businesses in particular say there is a shortage of qualified applicants, in part due to demographic changes, and in part due to stiff competition from large firms. Now the Chamber of Trade in the city of Cottbus has started recruiting applicants from Poland.
