A counter coup in Mali has prompted the ruling junta to put out a televised message to the public claiming they are still in charge and the counter coup is over.
Earlier, troops loyal to the president attemped to take back control from the junta who over threw the president in a coup in March.
Witnesses say residents living near the airport were seen fleeing as presidential troops took up position.
Electricity had been cut in at least one neighbourhood.
