The wounded arrive at hospital after a grenade attack in the Kenyan town of Mtwapa that killed one person.

The attackers targeted an open air roadside Christian meeting near the town north of Mombasa.

The second attack was in the port city of Mombasa itself, at a bar near the main stadium.

Up to two dozen have been wounded in the two explosions.

The government has blamed previous attacks on Somali-based al-Shabaab rebels who formally merged with al Qaeda this year.

The region's provincial commissioner said it was too early to say who was behind the bloodshed on Saturday (March 31).

The violence was the latest in a series of attacks mostly centred on Nairobi since the east African country sent troops into neighbouring Somalia to fight Islamist rebels.
