In many areas across Germany this week, people are being forced to make do without public transportation. The trade union Verdi has demanded a wage increase of 6.5 percent for over 2 million public sector employees. But federal and state governments and local municipalities say public coffers are empty."Made in Germany"reporter Carmen Meyer accompanies the protests in the city of Hanover, which is playing host to the CeBit trade show. She meets with strike organizers and the city?s mayor, stranded trade show visitors, and demonstrators who are resolute in their demands.
