My name is Benno Herz and I'm 20 years old. I am living in a very small town somewhere in germany at the moment, but i guess that doesn't matter. Now I could tell you a lot of things about myself and my music but i think it..s better to keep it short. The record is called "The Right To Be Weak", it is, as might be expected , mostly about weakness, especially my own. I've tried to put some of the thoughts and problems i have into songs, and with the help of my lovely family and my friends i've made this album. I've played in a lot of bands but there was a point when i decided to do a record of my songs just with some acoustic guitars. It was my little brother, Robert Herz, who encouraged me to make more of the ideas. We started to decorate the songs with percussions and drums, afterwards my friend and bandmate Philip Meloi put some slide and lead guitars on the songs. The project grew and lovely Nicolai Hildebrandt added trumpets, Sebastian Leluschko helped me out with some curious sounds and instruments. My girlfriend Nora Lube sang on some of the songs. After a while i was very much into the project, we recorded everything at my home .
It was summertime, i had just finished school and i got kind of obsessed with the project so i was spending most of my time on this record. There were a lot of beautiful moments and late-night recording sessions with so many wonderful people but there were a lot of doubts and despair, too. I think we had a good time. Now, 6 month on - i feel as if I had learned a lot of things yet now have forgotten it all. as you can see, i'm excited. Autumn came and i had collected the last pieces of my puzzle. I was aware that i would need a lot of help to get all those tracks and things together to songs and at last to an album, so i was happy when i came across "hazelwood vinyl plastics". Wolfgang Gottlieb mixed and mastered the songs at their studio in Frankfurt. Now you know my story and the story about my album, i hope you'll like it." I do. Hier könnt Ihr mehr hören:
