Peacekeepers held in Sudan

A militant rebel group in Sudan claims to have captured 52 international peacekeeping troops in the war-torn Darfur region.

The soldiers from the joint UN-African Union UNAMID force have repeatedly been caught in the crossfire between government troops and rebels.

The militants accuse the peacekeepers of cooperating with the state security services.
