Aung San Suu Kyi registers for April election

Cheers echo through this quiet town in southern Myanmar, as pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi registers her candidacy for the upcoming April by-election.
She'll be running under the National League for Democracy - a party that has been politically ostracized for 20 years.
Myanmar held elections in November 2010 that saw a nominally civilian government take over from the ruling junta.
The National League for Democracy boycotted the election because of strict laws that prevented many members from taking part.
At least 48 seats will be contested in April - 40 in the lower house of parliament, six in the upper house, and two in regional parliaments.
