Assessing the damage in Ramadi - hours after six gunmen stormed a police building and detonated explosives. Ten people were killed including the six gunmen, three policemen and a civilian.
Police say they killed three of the gunmen while the other three blew themselves up, the last as he was cornered by security forces on a rooftop.
The attack on the minority Shi'ites comes as they mark Chehlum.
mainly Sunni Anbar province follows weeks of bombing targeting Shi'ites. Many in the region are waiting to see just how effective Iraq will be in handling its security without the backing of U.S troops who left the area last month.
