Iraq war over because Obama says it's over
  • 12 years ago
http://nma.tv On Wednesday President Barack Obama declared an 'end' to the Iraq war in a speech at Fort Bragg. What does that mean? Nearly 4,500 US troops have died in Iraq, and the war has cost more than $800 billion. But Iraq is still unstable and increasingly influenced by Iran. There are still 8,000 US troops in Iraq, with 10,000 in neighboring Kuwait. The US embassy in Baghdad will have at least 15,000 people working in it. So Obama's press conference was just that — a press conference. It might help Obama's approval ratings, but it doesn't change what's happening on the ground.
