Obama lays wreath at pentagon

At the Pentagon, President Obama laid a wreath, bowing his head in silence to remember those killed when a hijacked Boeing 757 crashed into the building.
Afterward, the Obamas greeted the crowds, talking at length with some of the relatives of 184 victims of the September 11th attacks.
A hundred and twenty-five of the victims were working inside the Pentagon when the crash occurred. The aerial assault was the only successful attack on a government building. Another hijacked flight, believed to have been headed to the Capitol, crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
The visit to the Pentagon was the third memorial of the day for the president who began his morning with a speech at Ground Zero. Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the attacks.
