USS Kearsarge deploys early to support Pakistan relief

NORFOLK (Aug. 27, 2010) NORFOLK (Aug. 27, 2010) Family and friends watch the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) depart Naval Station Norfolk for Pakistan to help provide relief to flood-stricken regions. The Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group and embarked units of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (26th MEU) are executing an early deployment to the region in support of ongoing humanitarian aid and disaster relief operations.
