Christian Wulff or Joachim Gauck - by July 1st, Germany will have a new President.Pundits say the reigning State Premier of Lower Saxony has the best chances, because he can count on a majority of the CDU and FDP votes in the country's Federal Convention. However, former East German civil rights activist and Federal Commissioner for the Stasi Archives Joachim Gauck could also prove to be stiff competition for the post.
