00:00Well, hello, children. It's been a while. I haven't seen you in quite some time. Let me connect to here because I want to do something. Just because it's been so long, let me just connect real quick.
00:16All right, let's take this and try. Nope. It's party bugs. Anyway, so good to see you all. I'm trying to do something where we can hear your names in Japanese because believe it or not, some of you might have a different pronunciation of your name in Japanese.
00:38I know for one, one second, I think it's coming up. Ken's name in Japanese. Ah, there you go. Yes. Okay. So there's a really cool thing called Google Translate. You've all heard of Google Translate.
00:54So you can basically, more or less, get what your name would be in Japanese. So here's, for example, your uncle Debi's name in Japanese. Sounds kind of funny, but this is how they actually say it in Japan.
01:09Debi Marucero.
01:11Debi Marucero. Or actually, the more proper way, this is Google Translate. They would call me Marucero Debi-san. There's always the san at the very end.
01:22So curious. So curious. Let's see. Let's do Katie and Kylie. This will be fun, right? All right. First, Katie.
01:35Katie Reyes.
01:37Katie Reyes. Close enough, right? Let's try Kylie. I'm anticipating something interesting with this one.
01:47Katie Reyes.
01:49Katie Reyes. Almost like Kyrie, but the L and the R is kind of in the middle.
01:56Katie Reyes. How about Adi Cortez.
02:05All right. Ah, there we go.
02:07Adi Cortez.
02:09Adi Cortez.
02:10Adi Cortez. And Ali.
02:12Ali.
02:13Probably Ari, right? Yeah, exactly. Here's Ali.
02:17Ali Cortez.
02:18Ali Cortez.
02:21Let's do Olive.
02:25Olive Ison.
02:27And it sounds like this. Olive, this is your name in Japanese. Listen.
02:30Orive Ison.
02:32Orive Ison.
02:33I like that. And then Kenzie's here. This is for everyone.
02:38Kenzie Marucero.
02:43I already know how to say it.
02:44Kenzie Marucero.
02:46Kenzie.
02:47Almost like Kenny G, the saxophone player.
02:51Kenzie Marucero.
02:52Well, we wish you all a hello because it's been a very long time since we've seen him.
03:00So good to be back.
03:00Real quick, if you can show us our verse.
03:05All together, let's say it. Even the congregation.
03:08God sent his son into the world, not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
03:17John 3.17.
03:19Now, you might know John 3.16, which comes before this, for God so loved the world.
03:26In fact, you all say it.
03:27Or be pleased.
03:28All together.
03:29John 3.16.
03:32For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him,
03:40shall not perish, but have a eternal life.
03:44Amen.
03:44Now, this verse, right after it, I think we might forget sometimes that there's a verse
03:50that comes after 3.16, logically it's 3.17, has a very simple message for us today, that
03:55it focuses on the love of God that was sent to us in verse 16.
03:59And it says that God sent us into the world, not to what?
04:04Not to judge, but to save the world through him, through Jesus.
04:12And the simple message, my dear children and congregation, is simply this, that God's love
04:20is so vast that it's not just for those of us that are here at Church of the True Vine in
04:25Los Angeles County, it's not just for those that are from Church of Christ the Good Shepherd,
04:30also in L.A. County, but it is for the whole world.
04:34God sent his Son, Jesus, not to judge the whole world, but to save.
04:39It's kind of like this.
04:40I imagine it like you're drowning, and the only way for you to save yourself is someone
04:45sends you a life vest or a life raft of some sort.
04:49If you've been on a cruise, they tell you about this.
04:51But the only way for you to save yourself is to do what with that life vest or that life
04:57raft?
04:58You just kind of watch it pass you by?
05:01Will that save you?
05:02What do you do?
05:03You take hold of it.
05:05And you take hold of it by faith in the same way that we take hold of faith in Jesus, the
05:10Son, because God sent his Son not to judge, but to save the world through Jesus.
05:16That's a simple lesson for today.
05:17And your teacher today is, I just want to make sure, is, again, Teacher Lizette.
05:23So, Teacher Mommy, for one of you that's up here.
05:26But we will pray, and then I'll excuse you all.
05:29So let's hold our hands, bow our hands, close our eyes, repeat after me.
05:33And say, Heavenly Father, Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, into
05:42the world, not to judge, but to save.
05:47All who believe in Jesus' name will have salvation through Him.
05:57In Jesus' name we pray.
06:00Amen.
