03:19a four man rush party gets started

03:29eyes on his target and is going to
03:31share in that sack with an eye
03:33Davis played 13 games for the
03:3449ers last year 42 yard are

03:39he's got it again but after the big
03:41third down conversion the legs of
03:43the quarterback stood him the
03:44Niners defense hold strong and
03:45keeps ever to a field goal this
03:51has been a fun defensive first
03:53half for the 49ers as well
03:55especially when you consider
03:56Denver came out with all their
03:57front line players all their
03:58starters on offense and the
04:0149ers arresting a lot of guys who
04:04knows how many of those guys start
04:05day one maybe pin off maybe another
04:08guy or two but really well done
04:10schematically and then the
04:11execution and what surprised me a
04:13little bit was the tackling was
04:14really solid which is always a
04:16challenge early in the preseason
04:18and the 49ers with one joint
04:19practice historic loops seen so
04:21many joint practices are two days
04:23long did the one joint practice
04:25this week take Friday off and
04:28Cal Shanahan said the reason he
04:29doesn't like the two days is
04:30because whoever loses the first
04:32day comes back and starts to fight
04:33the second day I promise you
04:34there would have been a fight the
04:36next day it always works that way
04:38was great work and really handled
04:39well by both coaches and the
04:41players on both sides long
04:44grueling practice and and really a
04:47lot of good work for everybody
04:48across the board on both sides of
04:50the ball Dallas Flowers who had a
04:52touchback the last time long
04:53strides right up the hash marks he
04:56gets out to the 32 yard line and
04:58that's where the 49ers offense

06:17those guys and they know what the
06:18bar is and these young players that
06:20are going to be asked to step up on
06:22this defense and there's going to
06:24be a handful plus just talk about
06:26you Nick de Amador the guys that
06:30have been here that are setting the
06:31standard for all those those young
06:33bucks field right I think that's
06:44what that's what it takes and then
06:45obviously challenging those young
06:46guys to be better every single day
06:47to correct the mistakes but also
06:49play with that style that we know
06:51that we want on defense and that's
06:53why I love coming out here on game
06:54day man you really get to let loose
06:55and actually hit people bring guys
06:57to the ground we do while we're
06:58missing is the ball right now yeah
07:00and I thought the tackling for the
07:01most part of that was in there
07:03Karen a Reed picked it off we'll
07:05get it back don't worry I thought
07:06the tackling which is a challenge
07:08early in the preseason those first
07:10two or three drives was was pretty
07:11darn solid yeah absolutely I mean you
07:13mentioned it like that first game
07:15especially you know preseason it is
07:17hard you know when you aren't used
07:19to taking guys to the ground but I
07:20think in the way that we practice
07:22day in and day out you know we we
07:23stress those things like tracking
07:25the near hip you know we do thud you
07:28know pretty pretty with with pretty
07:29good violence out on the practice
07:31field so when you come into the game
07:32it makes it a lot easier I love what
07:34you just said because that's your
07:35mentality when it's real right the
07:37offense just throws an
07:38interception not a not a great play
07:40offensively backs against the wall
07:42and your first reaction is that's
07:43all right we'll get it back that's
07:45right we all got each other's back
07:46stop that's right hey I that's why
07:48I'm over there looking at the
07:49defense right now I see my boy

08:03this guy's a limit with him at the

08:07just Robert Sala but the first five
08:09picks the Niners made this year on
08:11defense three on the defensive line
08:13what have you seen from these a
08:15defensive rookies yeah we need we
08:16needed those picks man you know
08:17obviously we lost a lot of pieces
08:18this offseason and we needed to
08:20fill those boys that those guys
08:22created and I think the guys have
08:23been doing an amazing job you know
08:25you hear guys like Upton Stout man
08:27who who've just been standing out
08:28big-time obviously the all the
08:29defense alignment that we that we
08:31drafted Nick Martin's coming along
08:33and so everybody's doing a great
08:34job man even Mark Marquis as
08:36safety today has been making some
08:38huge hits that I've loved seeing
08:39so although you're about to get
08:40the other one right now so I love
08:44the way that they're coming along
08:45man there they all got that that
08:47thing that that is factor that
08:48you're looking for we know the
08:50fans will not get to see you've
08:51seen a lot of them and Michael
08:53Williams the first round pick
08:54Fred I think boy the sky's the
08:56limit for him and his talent but
08:58I've been telling with some of the
08:59injuries CJ West and Alfred
09:02Collins I said you guys better get
09:03ready for the crunch play and the
09:04crack toss because they're going to
09:06try to double you out of there just
09:07get ready for it yeah you know it's
09:08beautiful for them that they have
09:10this opportunity in their in their
09:11in their hands right now you know
09:12usually when young guys come in
09:14they're not able to get the amount
09:15of snaps or the opportunities that
09:16these guys are getting so it's up
09:18to them man the work that they put
09:19in being able to correct those
09:21mistakes on the fly the sky's the
09:23limit for all of them honestly you

12:43not seeing Fred Warner on defense

12:45Diomedo Lenore Nick Bosa but the
12:47guy that nobody has seen in a
12:49game yet but all these Niners are
12:51excited about you heard Fred say
12:52it is Upton Stout who might start
12:54at nickel this year.
12:55I think he will unless something
12:57changes now Chase Lucas is
12:58playing well but the rookie
12:59third round pick is tenacious
13:01angry processes he has been
13:04everywhere and it's such a key
13:06position in this defense
13:07defending the run in the and the
13:09ball start offense five yard
13:12penalty first down tough penalty
13:14for the top penalty for Denver
13:16they have the Niners defense
13:17scrambling a little bit there

13:25situations now when you talk
13:26about the money zone and having
13:28an opportunity to execute down

13:32punch it in and conversely
13:33Robert Sala feels the same way
13:35getting work.

13:39these opportunities in the
13:40preseason to bow your neck and
13:42come up strong is big for solid

15:20the right way.
15:21He coaches the players the right
15:22way and he maximizes effort from
15:25those guys because so much
15:26special teams is there's a lot
15:28of scheme to it now.
15:29There's no question and there's
15:30Boyer there.
15:31You can tell that he's just
15:32fired up.
15:33I mean he is a he's like a
15:34Robert solid guy.
15:35He's going to bring the energy
15:36to that room into the field.

18:09really good signing in Amir

18:15in terms of the ability to run
18:17and then in the passing game
18:18Patrick Taylor's just a pro.
18:20And we've seen already Corey
18:21Kiner making a couple of nice
18:22runs.

18:28getting a hand in there was

22:56it felt like oh what is going
22:57to happen to this 49ers season
22:58and Brock Purdy came in and
23:00kept it on the tracks.

42:56I'm telling you, if you can watch how precise Bobby Turner is when he's coaching these guys on where their landmarks are,
43:03what they're looking for, how to put their foot in the ground and chew up that grass in front of them.

43:50And Mike Shanahan got on the headset and said to Bobby Turner, did you see that?
43:54And Bobby said, yeah, I saw it.
43:56And he put Terrell Davis in the game.
43:58And the rest is history off to Canton.
