00:05It goes, it goes, it goes!
00:07Vogue is never ending!
00:09Hey, I'm Jenna.
00:10Hey, I'm Catherine.
00:12And this is Vogue's Off the Cuff.
00:14Last song you ever listened to?
00:16Today, I think it was Dirt by the Stooges.
00:18Good one.
00:19Thanks.
00:20That'll start your morning.
00:21Catherine, what's your favorite scary movie?
00:23Scary movies scare me.
00:24When I was a kid, I think I was traumatized because my brother wanted to see Planet of the Apes, but like 45 years ago.
00:32And then I started crying.
00:34I just don't watch a lot of scary movies because they stay with me a very long time.
00:3945 years.
00:4045 years.
00:41When was the first time we met?
00:442021, September.
00:47Bucharest, Romania.
00:48Yeah.
00:49What was your first impression of me?
00:50I watched you on set.
00:52I was doing hair and makeup and costumes, and I was watching you, and I was just going, wow, you stare, you're focused, and that was my first impression.
01:01I just was just thrilled to be part of, you know, this kind of butterfly opening up and being as wonderful as you are.
01:11And I love you.
01:12I love you.
01:13What's your secret talent?
01:14Well, I've got many secret talents that I can't share with you.
01:17Oh, it's not my turn.
01:18It wasn't my turn.
01:19On a movie, No Reservations, I learned to pull the tablecloth off and keep the plates and the glasses.
01:25I worked really hard on it.
01:26I'm a little rusty right now, but I can still do it.
01:29It's a great party trick.
01:32I'm very proud of that.
01:33I can't believe I've never seen you do that.
01:34Yeah, I did it on David Letterman years ago, and I completely bolstered it up, and I'd been working on it, you know.
01:41The weight wasn't right.
01:42I was in heels.
01:43I'm not proud of that moment.
01:44I know I can do it better, yeah.
01:45You probably went on a little bit a bit, too.
01:46Do you have an audition horror story?
01:51I mean, I must.
01:53I definitely had one where I had to do a major scream, and I didn't practice it.
01:58And I went in there, and just my voice cracked.
02:01It was terrible, and my mom heard through the...
02:03She told me we were driving.
02:05She was like, Jenna, I love you, but, like, how are you going to be an actress if you can't even scream?
02:10Oh, gosh, really?
02:11Yeah, no, she really went in.
02:13You know, I can't scream, too.
02:14Really?
02:15No.
02:15I can sing high notes, but the screaming.
02:20Oh, well, maybe it's just, like, there's a mental block, like, you know, to protect your voice.
02:23I don't know.
02:23I have the opposite word.
02:24I don't sing.
02:25I only scream.
02:26Okay, you can do it really good.
02:28What's a highlight of your career so far?
02:30Still being here with you right now, enjoying this moment.
02:34That's a big highlight for me, Will Miss.
02:37It's true.
02:38It's true.
02:39You know I wouldn't say it if I didn't believe it.
02:42Who's a person you wish you could have dinner with, living or dead?
02:46Oh, my God, I think about this all the time.
02:47Whoa.
02:48I mean, with the recent passing, I love David Lynch.
02:51He's one of, if not my favorite, directors, so that would have been really special.
02:57I thought that maybe I might get to do that one day.
03:01What's your biggest fear, Catherine?
03:04Well, I hate rats.
03:05When we had this conversation, things running with little tails.
03:08I love them.
03:09But that's more phobia.
03:10But a fear that my kids just, my kids jump out of planes.
03:14Like, my son, like, they do stuff they just need to do.
03:17Have they done it yet?
03:18Yeah, my son jumped out of an airplane and skydived.
03:21And then I found out on Instagram, he went, sorry, Mom.
03:25That was the two words.
03:26But he apologized.
03:27With the whole video of him, like, falling out of a plane.
03:30I don't like it.
03:32What would you do for work if you weren't an actor?
03:35I feel like I could be, like, an investigative journalist.
03:40Like, I would love to travel.
03:42And you just have to give me a topic that I can become really obsessed with.
03:46Like, when I was a kid, I wanted to be an archaeologist or an art historian.
03:50Again, give me, like, one thing to focus on.
03:53What's something you used to be afraid of, but you're not anymore?
03:58I used to be afraid of Cabbage Patch Kids.
04:04That's a lie.
04:04I'm still scared of those.
04:06They're hideous.
04:07I don't mind Victorian Doll.
04:08Victorian Doll is very beautiful.
04:10A Cabbage Patch Kid?
04:14Never.
04:15Never want to see one of those ever again in my life.
04:17The first time I saw a Cabbage Patch Kid, I think it was 3 in the morning and I woke up.
04:22You know when you wake up and you, like, took a nap and you're sweating and your sweatpants are rolled up and you don't know where you are?
04:27And then there was a commercial playing on the TV and just it being pitch black, the dark, silence in the house.
04:35I hate the way their eyes move.
04:38I didn't like them coming to fruition through the Cabbage.
04:42That looked bizarre.
04:45I don't like American Girl dolls either.
04:47I'm very specific about my dolls.
04:50What's your favorite mythical creature?
04:52The Loch Ness Monster.
04:55Nessie.
04:56I love the idea that this big old monster that lurks in the lochs in Scotland.
05:02She's quite cute as well.
05:03She's super cute.
05:04Yeah, I just love that long neck.
05:06Very elegant.
05:08Favorite monster movie?
05:09You love a good monster.
05:11I know.
05:11I should know this.
05:13This is hard.
05:15There's so many good ones.
05:16I mean, I do think the American Werewolf in London films are just ridiculous.
05:22The Paris one.
05:23But that's not my favorite.
05:25Probably Creature from the Black Lagoon.
05:27Yeah.
05:28Probably.
05:28Or Frankenstein.
05:30Of course, Frankenstein.
05:31What are some things you do to get into character?
05:33For Matisha, I knew the way she walked.
05:37I knew the way she talked.
05:38I knew it was putting the costumes on, putting the hair and makeup on.
05:42Just walking onto the sets.
05:43It was so great.
05:45And having a Welsh accent, I've always had to do an accent.
05:48Even when I worked in Britain, I had to do an English accent or Scottish accent.
05:52American, Spanish, or whatever.
05:56And so that's probably the root.
05:58How does she sound?
05:59On a scale of 1 to 10, how gothy are you?
06:02I think I was...
06:03I didn't push my goth as a teenager because I was working.
06:07If I was, like, you know, just not working when I was a teenager, I would have pushed the goth.
06:12I like the new romantic era.
06:14Adamant, the kind of frilly shirts, you know, all that.
06:17But I do like goth.
06:18I mean, I was born this way.
06:21Baby.
06:21Baby.
06:22So I was dark.
06:24And I've always loved a smoky eye.
06:27The majority of my closet has been dominantly black, like, all my life.
06:32I just didn't push the black lips.
06:34I didn't push it.
06:35But goth has kind of been laying dormant within me for many years.
06:39So I think it's a seven and a half.
06:43Okay.
06:44What do you think Wednesday's TikTok FYP would look like?
06:49I don't know what that means.
06:51What is an FYP?
06:53She wouldn't be on.
06:54But if you're going to, like, force my hand, Vogue, it probably would be...
07:00I don't know.
07:00How freaky can you get on TikTok?
07:02Torture videos and clips from, you know, German expressionist films.
07:09Yes.
07:10Like, screaming.
07:12What's the sound thing that people...
07:14Like, when people want to go to bed and they want to listen, like...
