Wayne York outlines the strengths of the Fleckvieh breed at the Ekka.

00:00I'm pretty impressed really. A lot of them were very industry focused and complete and very few structural issues, so that was a really good thing.
00:08And your champion bull, what were the key things about him?
00:12Just he was such a soft, fleshy bull. You could see he was an easy doing bull, really good soft skin type to him.
00:20Beautiful broad muzzle, hooded eye, still got plenty of neck with a big rib on him and a good square, thick, deep iron quarter.
00:27So I just think he takes a lot of what the industry demands.
00:29And you had a pretty difficult decision between the junior and the senior females to select your grand champion female, quality in both cattle?
00:37Yeah, both very good females, just real maternal type of cows they were, or females they were I suppose.
00:44The younger female, you know, she possibly could end up being a better female at the end of the day, but the cow self, she was very complete, very correct.
00:53And you're just hard to go past that she's got a calf at foot and already doing the work.
00:59The animal and the young man.
01:01The all in the rough.
01:03The dog and the young man.
01:05The dog to do the same thing.
01:07The dog and the young man are up to the Greek.
01:09And you're just as good as the main man, just the almost as a great boy.
