Amid Trump’s steep tariff hike on India, Chinese ambassador Xu Feihong indirectly slammed the US, calling it a “bully.” Without naming Trump, Xu warned, “Give the bully an inch, he will take a mile.” The comment is being viewed as a rare show of solidarity with India and Brazil amid rising trade tensions.

00:00And we have some news just coming in.
00:02China is siding with India on the tariff showdown.
00:05China on Trump's tariffs on India has spoken out.
00:08Terms it as an abuse expresses opposition.
00:15Remember, this is the declaration of imposition of 50% plus tariffs on India.
00:20U.S. President Donald Trump had made this announcement.
00:24And China now has spoken about it, saying that this is unfair.
00:28Something that India has said as well.
00:29Remember, China, too, was at the receiving end of the imposition of Trump's tariffs on their country.
00:36When tariffs had been imposed and China, too, had termed this imposition on them as unfair.
00:43Now it's siding with India on the tariff showdown.
00:47Pranay Upadhyay has got more details.
00:49Pranay China, too, was, in fact, at the receiving end of Trump's tariffs, so to speak.
00:55Where a huge amount of tariffs had been imposed on China.
00:58Now they say it's being done on India and this, too, was extremely unfair.
01:02Yeah, this is unfair, but also, Sneha, this is also unfair that President Donald Trump is having a tariff cruise with China.
01:10China is currently engaging with the United States and having a tariff cruise of 90 days.
01:15And as President Donald Trump himself indicated that his talks with China are progressing well.
01:22So clearly, on one side, China is negotiating with the United States.
01:26On the other side, there is, you know, as it's been put up by the former Deputy Secretary of State, Mr. Kurt Campbell,
01:34he rightly put across the current situation that President Donald Trump, who is so attuned to his domestic politics,
01:41he has put India in a very difficult situation where Prime Minister Narendra Modi doesn't have the capacity to bend his knees
01:49because those are the red lines for India.
01:51And definitely, Donald Trump's decision has put, you know, India, U.S. side in a very strainer's position.
01:58But as far as China's case is concerned, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson has, you know, commented on this situation,
02:06saying that it is important to stand up to the tariff abuse.
02:10So, yes, China is also taking the position that, you know, this is tariff arm-twisting
02:16and, you know, these tariff tensions are actually to fulfill certain foreign policy or geopolitical objectives.
02:23But we are yet to see because, you know, China ultimately is the beneficiary of the U.S. market axis
02:29and we have to see that how China, U.S., you know, great job progress and what formula they could work out.
02:37All right, I'm going to leave it at that for the moment.
02:39An unlikely ally, though, India has found in China, with China essentially siding with India on all of this.
02:47But like Pranay is telling us, what about their talks of truth that is ongoing
02:52while this tariff war is in continuum with India?
02:59After imposing 50% tariffs on India, U.S. President Donald Trump has made it clear
03:05that there are going to be no further negotiations till the dispute is resolved.
03:09The 50% tariffs on Indian products exported to the U.S. makes them steeply expensive in the U.S. market.
03:17This could severely impact exports, particularly affecting smaller enterprises.
03:21As U.S. President also ruled out any further trade negotiations with India until the current tensions are resolved.
03:28As rising tariffs threaten the survival of smaller businesses,
03:31major companies are exploring various strategies, including shifting manufacturing to nations
03:37with reduced tariff rates, seeking customers in different markets
03:41and looking at potential U.S.-based acquisitions.
03:45Meanwhile, Congressman Gregory Meeks has said Trump's latest tariff tantrum risks years of careful work
03:51to build a stronger U.S.-India partnership.
03:54He's urged Trump to address in a mutually respectful way, consistent with democratic values.
04:04Do you expect increased trade negotiations, you know, since you've announced the 50% tariff?
04:09No, not until we get it resolved.
04:11Do you expect increased trade negotiations, you know, since you've announced the 50% tariff?
04:16No, not until we get it resolved.
04:18Well, what this is about is an honest, full and frank dialogue about real concerns that
04:25this administration has, that the president has outlined very clearly, addressing those
04:30concerns through his actions.
04:32He's spoken about them, whether it's about the purchase of Russian oil, whether it's about
04:35the trade imbalance.
04:36Addressing those concerns is important.
04:38And that's part of what it means to have a frank dialogue to address those concerns that
04:43you have, and then hopefully have conversations to see those concerns addressed.
04:48So the president's been very clear his concerns about what he has seen from India speak for
04:54themselves.
04:54He's he's truth multiple times about it.
04:57But ultimately, this is this is about a frank and full dialogue.
04:59And that's what it means to advance American interests.
05:01That's what it means to to really have full diplomatic dialogue with partners to address
05:05concerns that we need to see addressed.
05:13All right, more news coming in.
05:16This has got to do with what we are picking up from our sources within the Election Commission
05:21of India.
05:22This time, the Election Commission wants Rahul Gandhi to sign the declaration and oath as
05:27per rules before full facts are placed before citizens.
05:32This will ensure that Rahul Gandhi does not backtrack selectively like every time is what is
05:37being said through our sources and becomes a repeated case of shoot and scoot or hit and run.
05:43It's ready to cross to Aishwarya for more on that.
05:49Aishwarya, break this down for us.
05:51This obviously has got to do with the kind of allegations that have been made by Rahul Gandhi,
05:56the leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, against the Election Commission of India.
06:01Well, Sarah, you know, this is not the first time we are seeing Rahul Gandhi raising fingers.
06:05Since 2019, we are seeing a battle of sorts taking place between the Election Commission of
06:10India and the main opposition party, that is the Communist Party.
06:13In fact, SIR, let me tell you, has become the glue which is keeping all the opposition
06:17parties together at the moment.
06:19The Election Commission, on a daily basis, keeps on updating the data.
06:22And it's a little surprising, Seha, that we are seeing zero claims and objections being
06:27filed by the parties officially.
06:30But the press conference that we saw Rahul Gandhi do, we spoke about the fact that they
06:34have data.
06:34The Election Commission is saying that now we need to give out a note.
06:38Give us, give us, I think, do not do press conferences.
06:41Tell us what exactly is the proof that we have found that there has been manipulation which
06:45is being done.
06:47Till now, it's been almost nine days.
06:49And we are seeing almost eight days.
06:50We are seeing zero claims and objections being filed by any of the parties with regards to
06:55SIR and Bihar.
06:57All right, I'm going to leave it at that for the moment.
06:59Aishwarya getting in those details as far as the EC sharpening its knives against Rahul
07:04Gandhi.
07:07Rahul Gandhi, meanwhile, is waging war against the Election Commission.
07:11Gandhi is all set to escalate the vote manipulation fight against the EC.
07:17He released a new video message alleging EC's voter theft.
07:21The eight-minute long video by Gandhi highlights SIR exercise controversy in Bihar, as well as
07:27voter theft as alleged by him.
07:30Gandhi is going to be leading a demonstration in Bengaluru today, highlighting his charge
07:35that elections have been rigged in Mahadevpura Assembly segment of Bangalore's central
07:41Lok Sabha seat last year.
07:43Led by Gandhi, India bloc leaders will also hold a Yatra in Bihar from the 17th to the
07:48August to 1st of September over the electoral roll revision exercise in the state.
07:54Remember, Election Commission fact-checking Gandhi's claims had challenged the Lok Sabha leader
07:59of the opposition to sign an oath as per elector's rules and submit it to the chief electoral officer.
08:06Meanwhile, BJP has hit back accusing Gandhi of tarnishing the poll body's image, further slamming
08:13the Congress of selective outreach and not raising doubts on Congress-ruled states.

09:57They didn't win the Karnataka.
09:59They didn't win the Karnataka.
10:27Voter list verification is happening there.
10:34They are cleaning the water list.
10:39Today they have accepted their defeat.
10:42Rahul Gandhi has started a drama like this.
10:47Well, the election commission is again under fire.
10:51Leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has accused it of voter list manipulation.
10:56In Bengaluru, citing one address where 80 voters were allegedly registered in a single-room house.
11:04India today investigates this claim on the ground.
11:08Take a look at this special report.
11:21The face-off between Rahul Gandhi and the Election Commission escalates.
11:25The leader of opposition has accused the EC of voterless manipulation in the heart of Bengaluru.
11:32Now, Rahul Gandhi claims that 80 voters were registered from a single-room house in the Muniredi Garden during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
11:40There are bulk voters in single address.
11:44There is a single-room house.
11:47There are 80 voters in that.
11:49There are different names and different families.
11:52And when we go there, we tell you that there are 80 people here.
11:56There are no people here. No one doesn't know them.
11:57India today visited the address at the center of this political storm.
12:08And what we found raises serious questions.
12:12The house, which is barely 10 to 15 square feet, is currently occupied by a food delivery agent from West Bengal who moved in just a month ago.
12:21He claims he has no link to the alleged 80 voters and has denied knowing anyone on the list.
12:26The house is owned by Jairam Reddy, who Dipankar claims has ties with the BJP.
12:53When contacted by India today, Reddy initially confirmed being affiliated with the party, but later backtracked.
12:59Shockingly, Reddy also admitted that he never informed election commission officials about the anomaly,
13:26despite knowing that most of the registered voters no longer reside there.
13:30Yes, I think it's been a long time for the election commission.
13:39You've got a lot of election commission in the same place.
13:43You've got to get a lot of voter lists in the same place.
13:48No, you've got to get a lot of voter lists in the same place.
13:53You've got to divide the people from the other side.
13:55You've got to get a lot of rural people.
13:58Faced with tough questions, Jairam Reddy assured that he would alert election authorities
14:13about the potential voter list discrepancies.
14:15While Jairam Reddy deflects responsibility, the Congress insists that its voter list fraud
14:21was engineered to benefit the BGP.
14:25For now, what's clear is this, Rahul Gandhi's claims have found some ground.
14:30It is the house of Dipankar, he says that he is living here from past one month and it
14:35is a very small house where he can accommodate only one or two people which has a hall and
14:40a kitchen and a bathroom and he doesn't even have a bedroom and as per the allegations made
14:45by Rahul Gandhi, he said that around 80 people have enrolled for voter list from this particular
14:50house, house number 35, here in Munreddy Garden near Bellanduru.
14:56With you, Jairam Smadu Sagaraj reporting for India Today, Bengaluru.
15:01More news coming in, anti-terror operations to flush out.
15:11A Lushkar group has entered the eighth day in the Akhal forest area of Kulgam.
15:17So far, three terrorists have been killed, nine soldiers have been injured in one go.
15:23This is the longest gun battle in recent times that we've seen in these dense forests that
15:29are underway as we speak.
15:35And straight across to Mir for more details on that.
15:38Firing and blasts continue through the night in this area, as forces intensify their efforts
15:44to corner the heavily armed trained Lushkar group Mir.
15:48What more details can you share with us?
15:52Yes, Shreya, this is without a doubt the one of the longest encounters, gun battles in the
15:59recent history.
16:00It's day eight, and so far, three terrorists have been killed.
16:04One body has been retrieved.
16:05Two are still lying, according to sources, in the area of operation.
16:09Nine soldiers, including some from the special Farah elite unit, have been injured in this
16:14intense gunfight.
16:15And as far as this operation is concerned, let me tell you, last eight days, there hardly has
16:22been a time when the gunfight or the rattle of the bullets and the firing that has happened and the
16:29blast that has stopped.
16:31Now, sources say that this operation is tricky for multiple reasons.
16:35The dense forest area and this Lushkar group seems to be very well equipped with even night vision
16:41goggles, night vision equipment, then long scoops that are fitted with the rifles.
16:45So they're firing from a distance.
16:47And they also seem to seem to be well acquainted with the jungle and with jungle warfare.
16:52So that is making things tricky for the security agencies because they do not want casualties from
16:57their side.
16:57And that's why they're trading cautiously.
16:59But it's an intense operation and operation which is full of complexities.
17:05Now, locals, the Akhil village, which is right on the foothills of this forest area,
17:10they have also been, their lives have been disturbed.
17:12Now, many are moving out of the native places because last seven days they haven't been able
17:17to sleep.
17:18Life has been disturbed.
17:19Now, the authorities have put out emergency numbers, nodal officers whom they need to call
17:25in case of emergencies.
17:26But yes, a tricky operation, a complex operation.
17:29And it's day eight.
17:31Firing continues, whatever the security agencies have, be it UAVs, drones, everything is being
17:37put into service to flush out them.
17:39But as I said, it's a tense jungle setting, probably some hideouts, well-entrenched hideouts
17:45as well.
17:45A lot of ammunition that this Lushka group has.
17:48And they're using it judiciously and taking cover in various formations, rocks,
17:55thick foliage and making this operation tough for the security agencies.
18:00But operation on and it's day eight.
18:03All right, I'm going to leave it to that for the moment.
18:04Meir Farid getting in those details as far as this operation entering the eighth day is concerned.
18:09Meir telling us about how it was in fact on all night yesterday.
18:14And of course, efforts are being made to safeguard the people, their natives say that they have
18:19been extremely disturbed all over the last seven odd days or so, haven't been able to sleep.
18:24Efforts are being made to evacuate them as well.
18:30And we have more news coming in at this point in time.
18:38There is a report of a torture that has taken place in Tirupati.
18:41A Dalit youth is brutally assaulted allegedly by YSRCP goons, sheltered by Bhumana Karunakar Reddy.
18:50Tirupati police have arrested one accused.
18:53Search is on to nab the others is what we are learning.
18:56It's a horrifying case of cause violence that has emerged from Tirupati where a Dalit youth Pavan Kumar from Puli Charla was abducted,
19:06brutally assaulted allegedly by individuals linked to the YSR Congress Party senior leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy.
19:14As per the initial reports, the accused here, Anil Reddy, is a known criminal, personal driver of former YSRCP MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy.
19:24Along with Dinesh, he locked the Dalit victim Pavan in a room, beat him up, filmed the torture which was in his screen at this point in time.
19:33Pavan's father, Neelam Jairaju, has said this is an act of intimidation.
19:40It is believed that the accused were present in the office of Bhumana Karunakar Reddy.
19:45At the time of this incident and his son, Abhinayar Reddy was also there with them.
19:50It's a case of atrocities against a young man, a Dalit man.
20:03Torture that has taken place in Tirupati in Andhra, where Dalit youth was brutally assaulted, videographed as well.
20:11This allegedly by YSRCP goons, sheltered by YSR Congress Party leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy.
20:23Tirupati police has arrested one is what we are learning at this point in time.
20:29I'm going to go straight across to Apoorva Jai Chandra.
20:32Getting asked those details, horrific pictures coming in of this entire incident being videographed.
20:37I understand the cops have arrested one.
20:39What are the details you can share with us?
20:42What really happened here, Apoorva?
20:44Well, Sneha, what we do know is that this incident had taken place.
20:49And in this incident there, you can see what we are getting learned initially is that one person has been arrested.
20:56In fact, this after a Dalit person there, Pavet Kumar had been abducted and brutally assaulted allegedly by YSRCP cadders and leaders is what we are getting to know.
21:07Sources do state that these so-called YSRCP cadders and leaders were closely related to the YSRCP senior leader there Bhumana Karunakar Reddy.
21:21What we are getting to learn is that Bhumana Karunakar Reddy is also the former TKD chairman as well.
21:28And he had been a person of high stature.
21:32But this incident in particular had taken place where Pavon was in fact abducted and he was locked up in a room where he had been brutally hit by these assaults.
21:43What we are getting to learn. The police have in fact stated that one person has been taken into custody while there are a couple of others who have been involved in this attack who have, who are, what we are getting to learn.
21:58That's right. Okay.
22:00He has also responded on this. In fact, Nari Lokish has gone on and taken picture wherein he has said that these kind of incidents will not go unpunished and that the perpetrators of these kind of attacks will be meted up with.
22:15Right. I'm going to leave that for the moment. Apoorva getting us up to speed with those details. We advise viewer discretion. It could be disturbing to many people.
22:24Dalit youth brutally assaulted there by YSRCP goons sheltered by Bhumana Karunakar Reddy.
22:39More news coming in. This has got to do with an update from Dharali and Uttarkashi.
22:43Over 500 have been evacuated. 112 have been airlifted to Dehradun is what the chief secretary Anand Bardhan has said.
22:51Indian Army has restored communication, continuing the rescue efforts in Harsil and Uttarakhand.
22:57And four Uttarakhand civil aviation helicopters have flown from Harsil.
23:03Four Harsil, I beg your pardon, from Martley.
23:06As the rescue work continues to be underway, we have these details at this point in time as heli services are being used to evacuate people,
23:15help them out and rescue them at this point in time.
23:18Over 500 people have been evacuated.
23:22Rescue operations in full swing here.
23:26I'm going straight across to Anjali Stawal, getting in more details on that story.
23:31Anjali, just yet, do we know anything about how many people have died, lost their lives in this horrific accident?
23:38Talk to us about what's going on right now. Of course, evacuation work, I understand, is in full swing here.
23:44Absolutely, Sneha, as you are asking me the question, I can see up there a helicopter engaged in the rescue work.
23:56So basically, what is happening is, the number of deaths is not something that the authorities would be focusing on right now.
24:04The focus is rescue and help. And air services are probably the only way that you can reach the people who are stranded,
24:11not just in Dharali, but in the villages around Dharali.
24:15Remember, it's been cut off, that entire area, from either Gangotri or from Uttarkashi.
24:21So they need to be brought out. There is a communication breakdown as well.
24:26And the power supply has been very intermittent. As you rightly said, 500 people, around 500 people have been rescued.
24:34Till last night, the number was 372. But since the morning, because the weather, as you can see, it's nice and sunny.
24:41It's cooperating. So that has led to a lot of sorties happening. And these people are being evacuated
24:47and being brought to places from where they can access their other homes.
24:52Remember, many of the locals who stay in those areas during the winter time, come down.
24:58These are the areas where right now I'm standing, Nitala. These are the areas which are their second homes.
25:03So during the winters, when it's snow bound, they move to lower reaches.
25:08And that's where many of them are coming back to their families.
25:11We just met Gautam Semwal, who was rescued from Mukwa, which is the abode of Ganga Maa during the winters.
25:18He told us the kind of tragedy he saw, he witnessed with his own eyes and how people ran as they were warned by the villagers of Mukwa,
25:28which is right across Dharali. And the hope is as soon as the Gaganani bridge is erected, it is created.
25:37And remember, it's called a Bailey bridge. It is a bridge that is used by BRO. It's a very old technique, a bridge made of metal,
25:45which will just be constructed across two concrete bases, which already exist.
25:49So once that is done, hopefully the last connect of Harshal Road, which is supposed to be underwater,
25:55if that is also fixed, then we will be able to reach the rescuers and hopefully we will also be able to go there.
26:02All right. You know, Anjali continues to be very difficult as far as the rescue work also is concerned.
26:09And also, you know, the situation as of now, it's going to take weeks and months for life to even limb back to normalcy, isn't it?
26:16At the disaster zone. Absolutely. You're absolutely right. Now you have to understand, as I told you,
26:26the priorities are very clear right now. It's rescue. It's relief and not counting the dead.
26:33That will be done later. So imagine the amount of silt. We all saw those visuals.
26:38So the amount of silt that must have come over there, it is going to be a huge deep excavation exercise
26:44that will have to be undertaken. Doppler radars will have to be used.
26:48And we have seen the BRO officials taking them and even the SDRF and NDRF teams are taking them.
26:54Those are the ones and the sniffer dogs, of course, which will help in locating those who are not with us anymore.
27:01But as of now, it is the living that need to be rescued. And that's what the priority number one is.
27:08Leaving it there for the moment, Anjali is getting us up to speed with those details.
27:12Rescue work, inferiority, rebuilding lives, of course, will follow in weeks to come, is what Anjali is indicating.
27:20Dharali wants a scenic stopover near Gangotri is a muddy reminder of nature's fury.
27:26Flash floods devastated Uttarkashi leading to collapse of homes, hotels, homestays, followed by frantic rescues.
27:34But amidst the wreckage, stories of survival, resilience emerge as life slowly limps back to normalcy.
27:41India Today is the only channel on the ground tracking the minute-by-minute updates here.
27:46Take a look.
28:02Glacier burst or lake breach or cloud burst.
28:06While what caused the flash floods remains uncertain, it was Dharali that took the brunt.
28:12The flash floods swept through this peaceful village, turning hotels into heaps, homes into ruins and left tourists stranded.
28:24In a few seconds, I didn't know what happened in a few seconds.
28:30Everything was stopped.
28:32I was standing in the beach market at that time.
28:34As the city was listening to us, we were dancing.
28:37And then, in a few seconds, we were dancing.
28:39And then, in a few seconds, we were dancing.
28:41From which side you were dancing?
28:42I was dancing from the market from the center.
28:45A couple from Bengaluru barely made it.
29:10Some say divine timing saved many in Dharali.
29:36A village milk fair at the temple courtyard meant fewer people were indoors when the water struck.
29:43The situation was no better in Harsil.
29:44Mohammed Ashraf from Moradabad had a narrow escape.
29:45You were dancing in Harsil?
29:46Yes, in Harsil.
29:47In Harsil.
29:48In Harsil.
29:49In Harsil.
29:50You were dancing in Harsil.
29:51In Harsil.
29:52Yes, in Harsil.
29:53Then, you were dancing in Harsil.
29:54Yes, in Harsil.
29:55In Dharali.
29:56In Harsil.
29:57The situation was no better in Harsil.
29:59Mohammed Ashraf from Moradabad had a narrow escape.
30:00The situation was no better in Harsil.
30:08Mohammed Ashraf from Moradabad had a narrow escape.
30:2318 tourists from Maharashtra on their chaat dhamyatra got stranded in Gangotri
30:29and were rescued by the army.
30:47Now as skies clear and choppers head out, life in Uttarkashi limps back.
30:53From floods to faith, Dharali's road to recovery is long.
30:58With Ashutosh Mishra, Manjeet Negi and Anjali Istawal, Bureau Report, India Today.
31:06All right, and tell our viewers a little about how Dharali looked before and after this devastating flash floods.
31:13A tourist haven, you've heard there from the tourists.

32:20Kapil Sharma's closeness with Salman Khan is now a life-threatening situation for him, is what we are learning.
32:26Shots have been fired at comedian Kapil Sharma's Cafe again in Surrey.
32:31This is the second time in a month Salman was called for the inauguration.
32:35The firing has taken place.
32:38What has been now said by those behind it and this is an audio clip that anyone associated or close to Salman Khan will also be punished is what is being indicated.
32:51Also, audio of Lawrence group gangster Harry Boxer has surfaced.
32:56Firing has happened at Kapil Sharma's Restaurant before and now and this has happened because he had invited Salman Khan for the inauguration.
33:05On Netflix's show, next time if any director, producer, artist doesn't warn all of them, the bullet will be fired directly on the chest.
33:16Warning to all Mumbai, all artists, producers will spoil the atmosphere of Mumbai so much that you people would not even have thought of it in your life.
33:24If anyone has worked with Salman, as what is said in this audio clip, whether he is a small artist or a director, we will not spare anyone, we will kill him.
33:33He will have to go to any extent to kill him, we will kill him.
33:36If anyone has worked with Khan, he will be responsible for his own death.
33:4025 gunshots were heard in this purported video of the attack that has now again surfaced.
33:52Attack has come in just twice, two times in one month in fact.
33:58Two gangs, Gurpreet Singh alias Goldie Dhillon, Lawrence Bishnoy in posts in social media have claimed responsibility for the attack.
34:05A voice has been heard in this video amid the crack of the gunshots as well.
34:13The cops are looking into this matter is what we know at this point in time.
34:18Listen in to Harry Boxer who would put out this audio clip essentially on social media.
34:48What Harry Boxer has said in that audio clip threatening those people who are associated or working small directors, actors, producers associated with Salman Khan will be in a fix is what is being warned.
35:11Listen in once again to what Harry Boxer said.
35:13I am Harry Boxer, Lawrence Bishnoy gang.
35:19This was the first time of Kapil Sarma and the firing of Salman Khan was called on the show in the Netflix.
35:28The next time all the directors, producers and producers will not give warning to them,
35:34it will be clear that they will be on the track.
35:36And in Mumbai there is a warning for everyone.
35:39The small and small producers and small producers and small producers.
35:42Now we will have the environment in Mumbai so bad that they will not think about their lives.
35:48Okay?
35:49If someone has worked with this,
35:53whether someone is a small producer or a small producer or a small producer,
