00:00Fourteen squatter houses and four shops were destroyed in a late-night fire along Jalan Pantai Dalam in Kuala Lumpur.
00:09The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call regarding the fire at 11.11pm on Thursday.
00:17The Pantai Fire Station said a total of 36 firefighters and officers from the station were deployed to the scene,
00:24helped by teams from other stations in Hangtua, Sepute and Sri Hartamas.
00:30They said the teams arrived to find the squatter homes engulfed in flames, which had spread to four shops, including a convenience store.
00:39They said the fire was brought under control at 1.49am on Friday.
00:45They said the squatter homes were about 90 per cent destroyed, while the shops sustained damage of about 80 per cent on the upper floors and 10 per cent on the ground floors.
