Storm Floris has arrived with a vengeance, bringing unseasonably powerful 90mph winds to the UK. The Met Office has issued yellow and amber weather warnings across northern England, Scotland, north Wales, and Northern Ireland. Travel operators LNER and Avanti West Coast are urging passengers not to travel, with major cancellations already in place. The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is cancelled, and power cuts, flying debris, and mobile outages are all expected.
