01:00So amazing car that's here, including this 1940s Triumph Roadster, and we're with David Finch. Hello David.
01:22So, what's it say on the shirt there? What's the name of the club?
01:26It is the Savage Pre-War and Classic Car Club.
01:28How many members have you got? About 50.
01:31And you get involved in how many shows each year?
01:34There's one every week for the season.
01:37What, all kind of midlands?
01:38One next year each week at the Seven Valley Railway we do.
01:40Ah, of course.
01:42We have several cars there at the stations.
01:45I've not been to this festival before, has it been going for a few years?
01:49This one, yes, Trimbley's been going for many, many years.
01:52Yeah.
01:52One of our club members is the organiser.
01:55Ah, okay.
01:55Yeah, yeah.
01:56David Spruce.
01:57So, what's kind of the rarest car that you'd have in the club then, would you say?
02:02The rarest car in the club would probably be the old pre-war ones.
02:06Yeah.
02:06So, what, go on, I'm going to put you on the spot.
02:20What is it about these old cars that appeal?
02:23You like them.
02:25Yeah.
02:26It's craftsmanship for one, isn't it?
02:27My car was in the 50s and it was what was on the road when I first started to dry it.
02:32Yeah.
02:32My father had one.
02:33So, there's the whole nostalgia thing to going back to it.
02:36It's completely and utter nostalgia.
02:38Yeah, yeah.
02:38Well, they look great, so thank you for keeping them on the road for us, to all the club members.
02:43We'll try as long as they're lettuce.
02:44Yeah.
02:45Not only have we got a beautiful steam engine here, but my friend here is cooking.
02:51What's cooking, boss?
02:52What have you got?
02:53A gammon at the moment.
02:54A bit of gammon?
02:55Yeah.
02:55So, how long does that take to cook in there, then?
02:58It's been in there about 25 minutes at the moment now.
03:00Wow, good stuff.
03:02About 25 minutes, and we're going to put the eggs on.
03:05Cool.
03:18Oh, we're checking out a BMW iZ, and we're with...
03:21Go on, sir.
03:22What's your name?
03:22Adrian.
03:24Adrian and...
03:25Catherine.
03:26Catherine.
03:26Now, there's a little special mug there.
03:28Let's have a look at this mug.
03:2965.
03:31That's the car, isn't it?
03:32Yeah.
03:3365 tomorrow.
03:33So, where was it built?
03:35In Brighton.
03:36Yeah?
03:37Wow.
03:37There's a locomotive factory in Brighton.
03:40Yeah.
03:40When they closed down the factory.
03:43Yeah.
03:43In two weeks, they converted into making the iZ a bubble car.
03:49No, that BMW iZ a beautiful thing.
03:52And you were saying a lot of the parts are from the Midlands as well?
03:55Yeah.
03:55Oh, yeah.
03:56Chassis.
03:56Rubri Owen.
03:57Oh, yeah.
03:57I like Palatine.
03:58Yeah, Rubri Owen.
04:00I've heard of Rubri Owen.
04:01Where are they?
04:02Yeah, Albury.
04:04But now we're in Olmen.
04:05A lot of places.
04:06But Albury was probably where it was built.
04:10Yeah.
04:11This is the chassis owner.
04:12Yeah, yeah.
04:13But there was a lot of parts made.
04:16Lucas Electrics.
04:18Yeah.
04:18Birmingham, of course.
04:20And then I know the sunroof steep was made there.
04:22And they probably made the bumper wheels rims.
04:26And the wheels were made pretty British as well.
04:29Here's the question.
04:31What is it like to drive?
04:32Fantastic.
04:33Is it?
04:33Yeah.
04:34Like a normal car.
04:36I bet it's good fun, isn't it?
04:37I don't drive, yeah.
04:38Yeah.
04:38And also, my husband's owned the car for 52 years.
04:41Wow.
04:42Well, it's looking great.
04:43Thanks for bringing it to the show, guys.
04:45Yeah.
04:45Pleasure.
04:45It's our pleasure.
04:46So, we've got the 1975-78 Jawa Ice Racer.
04:51Never seen one before.
04:52And Dave, just come round a little bit, kiddo.
04:54So, this is your bike.
04:55Yeah.
04:56Dave, I've never seen one.
04:57And I've been to a fair few shows.
04:59Can't be many about.
05:01What do you know about it, then, chap?
05:05Well, not a lot, really.
05:07It's so much I wanted.
05:09Check when I bought it off.
05:10It took me 18 months to get it.
05:13It just wanted it as a feature to take to shows.
05:16Yeah, yeah.
05:17So, I'll take it to Staffordshire.
05:19I've took it to one or two other shows.
05:21Yeah, they have the big motorbike show, don't they?
05:22Yeah, Stafford.
05:23At the showground.
05:24Yeah, yeah.
05:24And where would it have been raced, then?
05:26In this country, or?
05:28Nah.
05:29Years ago, they used to have it at the Talbot Archring,
05:32but I don't think this one's ever been raced in this country.
05:34It's more of a shell bike.
05:37Yeah, yeah.
05:38So, what are we thinking?
05:39Like, back in the day, it would have been Russia and somewhere like that?
05:41Yeah, yeah.
05:42Probably might have been a bit in Switzerland,
05:44but mainly Russia, where it's originated.
05:47Have you ever come across another one on your travels?
05:49I know where there's a couple.
05:51Yeah.
05:51Based down in Hertfordshire, in a museum.
05:54Yeah, but like you say, not many about, though.
05:57No, no.
05:57I've never seen any other shows or anywhere like that.
06:00Fantastic bit of kit.
06:01I would not want to get ridden over by them.
06:04Cheers, Dave.
06:04Thanks for bringing it to the show.
06:06No problem.
06:06And when I touch you, I feel happy inside.
06:13It's such a feeling that my love, I can't hide, I can't hide, I can't hide.
06:24Yeah, yeah.
