00:00Yo what's good everyone? Welcome back to East Coast Crime Network. I'm your host Cortez Black
00:26and today we're diving into a topic that's as chilling as it gets. We're talking about snitches,
00:32specifically parents who turn on their own kids in court just to save their own skins. Yeah,
00:38you heard that right. Let me introduce you to a rapper from New Orleans, a dude who's made a name
00:43for himself but not in the way you'd like to think. I'm talking about Little Chopsticks. This man had
00:50talent but he also had a dark side. He wrote songs about violence all focused on taking down a rival
00:57rapper named Big Bangkok. Then everything went left when he was charged with murder. Now here's where
01:04it gets real messy. Well, Little Chopsticks grew up in a tough environment and his father, whom I call
01:10Mr. Rat Boy for privacy's sake, wasn't exactly a model parent. He had a history of beating him up
01:16as a kid but Little Chopsticks never squealed. Fast forward and both father and son find themselves
01:21on trial for the murder of Big Bangkok. But guess what happened? Mr. Rat Boy decided to testify against
01:28his own son. He pointed the finger saying his son was the killer all to skate away with a lighter
01:34sentence. Little Chopsticks was found guilty, sentenced to life in prison while his father, thanks to those
01:40big snitching moves, only got 10 years. You can only imagine how that went down on social media.
01:47People were in disbelief, celebrities weighed in, and the world exploded with opinions.
01:52Look, everyone needs to talk about this because it hits hard. Parents should protect their children,
01:59not throw them under the bus. It's heartbreaking to think that a parent would settle for a lighter
02:03sentence at the cost of their own child's freedom. I mean, think about it. How sad and embarrassing
02:09is it to find out that your own blood can turn against you like that?
02:13Now, let's get into the red flags. If your parent is abusive, physically or emotionally,
02:18there's a chance they might not have your back when the chips are down.
02:22An abusive parent often seeks their own survival over your well-being.
02:26They might manipulate situations to put themselves first, which is extremely toxic.
02:32Children need to recognize that making better life choices is crucial. Some parents literally
02:37lead their kids into bad situations on purpose, and that's a cycle that needs to be broken.
02:41When Mr. Ratboy was asked why he turned on his son, he said his health was failing and he wanted to
02:46see his granddaughter go to a school dance. Talk about a tragic situation, right? That's a
02:52heartbreaking excuse for betrayal, and it leaves a scar that won't easily heal. It reminds you to be
02:58cautious about who you trust, even if that person is your own parent.
03:02So, what can you do? Stay aware, build a support system, and surround yourself with people who
03:09truly care about you. Don't let anyone lead you down the wrong path, not even your parents.
03:16Remember, the streets can be cold, but you can rise above it. This is Cortez Black,
03:21signing off from East Coast Crime Network. Until next time, stay safe out there,
03:26and don't forget to like, share, and follow for more Real Talk. I'm out!
