00:00Good morning. After a dry start to the weekend, Sunday does promise to be somewhat more changeable
00:05and there will be some rain for some of us as well. It's all courtesy of this weather front here
00:09that's going to be moving slowly south-eastwards across the UK through the day on Sunday.
00:13But then we turn our attention to Storm Floris. Already quite a deep area of low pressure,
00:17but as it moves towards the northern side of the jet stream, it will undergo quite a rapid deepening
00:22process through the course of tonight and into Monday. So becoming an unseasonally deep area
00:26of low pressure for the time of year and bringing some disruptive winds for some of us on Monday.
00:31But back to this morning and it's a nice bright start across many south-eastern parts of the UK.
00:34Some early morning sunshine here. Otherwise though, quite a bit of clouds. So outbreaks of rain and
00:39drizzle pushing their way south-eastwards across England and Wales through the course of this
00:43afternoon. Following that though, much brighter skies for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern
00:47England. Plenty of sunny spells developing here. A few showers, yes, and quite breezy, but it should
00:53turn into a pleasantly warm afternoon. And temperatures of 20, 22 degrees in places shouldn't
00:57feel too bad at all. There will just be one or two slightly heavier showers perhaps across
01:02north-east Scotland and north-east England. And these may even turn locally thundery.
01:07In the south, quite a humid feeling day. So 22 to 24 degrees in places and still quite a bit of low
01:13cloud over the higher ground. Any drips and draps of rain though will clear away from the south of
01:18England as we go through the course of this evening. So for many of us, it's turning into a drier interlude
01:23with some clearer skies for a time. It's not going to last very long though. You'll notice that the
01:28rain already starting to re-return across into Northern Ireland as we go towards the overnight
01:33hours. And those really intense bursts shown here by the yellow and red colours indicating some really
01:38heavy rain by the morning. The winds will start to freshen as well. So turning wet and windy for Northern
01:44Ireland, Western Scotland and some other north-western parts of the UK by the morning. Temperatures though
01:50not falling very far at all. So 16 or 17 degrees in some south-western areas by the end of the night
01:55and a mild start to the day for all of us. So for Monday then, some really disruptive winds are
02:01potentially possible across the north of the UK. A warning already in place across Scotland, Northern
02:06Ireland, Northern England and the far north of Wales. Some heavy rain as well. Most of that rain will
02:11pursue relatively quickly. But across the north-west of Scotland, some more prolonged spells of rain
02:16could lead to some flooding here. So something else to keep a close eye on. Brighter skies following
02:20to Northern Ireland, parts of Wales and Northern England perhaps through the afternoon. And the
02:25rain eventually arriving across the south-east. So not much in the way of raining in the far south
02:30until later in the day. Here, temperatures 20 to 25 degrees on Monday. So pretty warm but not feeling
02:37that way. Still pretty windy in the south too. But the strongest winds will be across the north and
02:42it's here where we have a yellow warning in place. So some unseasonably strong winds for many places but
02:47especially Scotland. And it's here that we could well see some damaging winds, potentially gusts of up to
02:5285 miles per hour in some exposed spots. That's going to lead to power interruptions as trees come down,
02:58potentially some travel disruption as well. There'll be some large waves in coastal regions and of course the
03:03heavy rain could lead to some localised flooding as well. So it's definitely worth staying in touch
03:07with the forecast over the next few days, making sure you know which warnings are in place for your
03:11area and following us on our social media channels. That's it from me. Bye for now.
