Three young men were arrested in Melaka after allegedly engaging in group same-sex activities, says Datuk Rahmad Mariman.
The Melaka education, higher education, and religious affairs committee chairman said that the suspects, aged 21, 24, and 26, were detained by enforcement officers from the Melaka Islamic Religious Department (JAIM) with the assistance of police cooperation at 1.30pm on Thursday (July 31).

00:12The Malacca Education, Higher Education and Religious Affairs Committee chairman, Datuk Rahmad Mariman, said the suspects, aged 21, 24 and 26, were arrested at 1.30pm following a complaint supported by photographic and video evidence.
00:31He described the act as a violation of Sharia law and said such practices go against Islamic teachings.
00:37The three men are being investigated under Section 56 for sodomy, Section 57 for attempted sodomy, and Section 58 for unnatural sex, all under the Sharia offences, Malacca State Enactment, 1991.
00:52Mobile phones belonging to the suspects were seized and are now part of the case evidence.
