00:00Yeah. So last thing, cause it's a weird spot. I feel like it's been an unbelievable success.
00:04PCA became a star. It's been wildly entertaining, a totally deserved contract extension. You're
00:09here, your second best record in baseball, but then this deadline doesn't exactly play out like
00:13fans won or like the media speculated, which is often, you know, we're obviously wrong all the
00:17time. Uh, but you said even yourself, it didn't always act rationally. Like, you know, you made
00:23smart moves in your head and your heart, but do you leave a deadline like this disappointed
00:27because there isn't like a bigger prize attached to it?
00:31I think disappointed would be the wrong word. I think that, you know, um, I think, you know,
00:36going into these deadlines, you're like, you know, you're going to have to make hard decisions
00:40and listen, there's always a yes. You can always, you know, you can always say yes and do the
00:46thing that feels good in the moment that, you know, um, you know, might really feel bad later
00:50on, you know, and I think that, um, you know, sort of having the discipline to, to realize
00:56that, you know, okay, that's, that's too much short-term gratification and too much long-term
00:59pain. And you always are having that, that debate. And I think that's the, that's the
01:03constant, that's the, that's the battle. And, and I understand, listen, I'm a, I'm a sports
01:07fan. I understand that, you know, the, you know, people want that, um, that huge deal.
01:13They want the instant gratification. They want to see that, you know, you know, number one
01:17starter, you know, walk through the door. And I, I, I totally understand that, but, you
01:21know, I could, you, I could list off countless examples of, um, of deals that, you know, very
01:27quickly, you know, turn sideways and you're like, oh my goodness, they gave up all this
01:30talent for, you know, for this. And so I think you're constantly trying to remind yourself
01:35through your experience of, um, you know, when you've been in this position before, you
01:40know, how you've reacted. And I think ultimately, so disappointed is the wrong word. I think you,
01:45you try your hardest and push your hardest, you know, within your reason, within your boundaries
01:48to, to make deals, but I think you can't be disappointed if you know, you, you did the
01:53right thing for the organization.
