Episode 4- Hidden gem series- Tintern Abbey!

Tintern Abbey remains as one of Wales most historical buildings.

Tintern Abbey was founded in 1131 by cistercian monks but it was abandoned after Henry VIII dissolved the monasteries in the 1530s which is why it is now a ruin.

00:11went to tintern abbey we didn't do the full chepstow walk but part of the walk we did we
00:15got to see what was full of wildflowers quiet paths and views just like this
00:20here is the old tunnel you walk through to get to tintern part of the old railway line we're
00:31currently walking through the tunnel and we're literally in complete darkness right now i mean
00:36there's besides a few little lamps along along the outside we're in darkness i mean it's freezing in
00:43here i don't really know what i was expecting but um honestly i'm really excited now to get to the
00:48other side and see what it looks like and we're here now at tintern abbey as you can see in the
00:56background behind me and it still remains as one of wales most iconic historical landmarks it's peaceful
01:03and calm and even without the full hike is 100 worth the visit tintern abbey was founded in 1131

01:15which is why it is now a ruin and if you still got time chepstow town is just down the road there's
01:20cute cafes little shops there's plenty to do whether you go for a full walk or just a short one this one
