A MAN with no mechanical experience has fulfilled his childhood goal of building his dream car. Taking inspiration from when he read car magazines in his youth, Moses Ngobeni, has managed to build his ideal car - all by hand. The electrical engineer from Giyani, South Africa, spent three years building the car he had dreamt of for decades. Building the car cost Moses 240,000 ZAR ($12,742) and was made using parts from a variety of different car models.

00:00Electrical engineer Moses Ungabeni has realized a childhood dream to build his
00:21very own sports car from scratch. While I was still a boy something came up
00:26into my mind he said one day I want to build my own sports vehicle. I saw those
00:32American sports cars like COVID then I said one day when I grow old I want to
00:38build one and nothing can stop me. It was bend by hand the body structure shape and
00:44everything it was handmade and it's not like it's a complete workshop but if you
00:49are determined to complete your dream you end up doing it. By God's grace I've
00:54managed to complete my project so I thank God for that. The thrifty engineer used
00:59car parts from a number of different models and has only spent two hundred
01:03and forty thousand rands so far that's just twelve thousand seven hundred pounds
01:08or sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty US dollars. Okay the engine is a two
01:13litre engine from PMW318 IS 98 model. The glasses this small one here is from the
01:21Mazda 86 model. The door glasses are from BMW M3 E46 model 2005. The front windscreen is
01:31from a VWKD backing. The front lights they are from ODT T2011 model. The rear fog lamp is from the 318 IS.
01:41It was used as a brake assistance on top of the windscreen. The tail lights are from
01:46Nissan Skyline GTR 2015 model. Moses can even start the engine remotely. I'm really proud of him.
01:54I know it's a dream come true for him to build this car. It's his passion. And the supercar superfan
02:00hopes his new wheels will also make his country proud. In South Africa we don't have a model that will say it was
02:08like manufacturer designed by South Africa. I am in South Africa. I'm not doing this thing for myself.
02:14It's for the country and for my people.
