20:44We're staying, you know, right on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, which is a very popular
20:49area.
20:50And then as soon as, you know, at around 2 o'clock, 2.30-ish, we started to get tsunami
21:01warnings on our phones and everything pretty much changed at that point.
21:08We happened to be out of the city, we happened to be out of the city when the first one came in, so we didn't get back into the city until around 6 o'clock.
21:15But everything was, all the stores were closed down.
21:19Everything was very quiet.
21:21People had left the beach at that point.
21:23There were police officers driving up and down the main street in front of the beach, telling people to leave the beach.
21:34We were concerned.
21:36I mean, we weren't really concerned for our own safety.
21:39We were doing what the state officials told us to do.
21:43They said, you know, to either move away from the coast or to get at least to the fourth floor of a building.
21:52And we're staying on the 11th floor, so we felt pretty comfortable and that we were going to be safe.
21:58But, you know, we didn't know what was going to happen.
22:03We didn't know if perhaps the oceanfront would be seriously compromised.
22:11If, you know, we could lose power or water or, you know, have infrastructure be disrupted.
22:18We were concerned about all of that.
22:21And we're feeling a little relieved now.
22:25We're feeling like maybe the worst of the threat is past us, we hope.
22:31But we were pretty worried for several hours there.
22:34Yeah, well, we were I was with my family.
22:49Like I said, we're on vacation, we were about to start a hike and my husband showed me that he had gotten the warning on his phone.
23:09And it was very clear.
23:12It said, you are in danger.
23:13Get away from coastal waters.
23:15And this was at 244 p.m.
23:18And, you know, at that point, we were actually far away from the coast, so we felt pretty comfortable.
23:26But, you know, the the warnings came, you know, about every 30 to 60 minutes after that.
23:34And so, you know, and, you know, they were saying, you know, the waves going to hit in three hours or the waves going to hit in two hours.
23:42So, you know, really warning people that this was coming at a specific time.
23:47And it was supposed to hit around 710 p.m.
23:52And shortly after that, you know, we didn't see a change in what was happening at the beach and the water.
23:59And in fact, there were still at least a dozen people on the beach from what I could see.
24:04And people seemed to relax after that.
24:08People were hooting and hollering from their balconies and singing and waving their phones.
24:14And shortly after that, everyone sort of retreated into their hotel rooms or condos.
24:21And I would and, you know, you saw the traffic return to the streets.
24:27It appears as if people no longer feel worried about this.
24:33And, you know, we're certainly not at this point planning to change our plans.
24:38Our plans.
24:39Our plans.
24:40Our plans.
24:45The night you get shall gestellt from here.
24:46We started working the beach.
