00:00Today we're announcing a new public corporation called Platform 4 which will unlock development
00:06of new homes, new commercial space, new public space on land that is around railway stations.
00:12We believe that this could lead to 40,000 homes being built over the next decade and that's a
00:19contribution towards the 1.5 million homes that we have committed to building in this parliament.
00:26Now the planning reforms that the government is making, the OBR have suggested that that is going to lead
00:34to the highest rate of house building in 40 years. We've seen work on new builds up by 37% this year
00:41compared to last year and so whilst there's lots more to do to build the homes that the country needs
00:47this government is determined to do it.
