Medics in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia continued surgery on a patient despite a powerful magnitude 8.8 earthquake, region's health minister Oleg Melnikov said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday (July 30).

"Despite the danger, the doctors remained calm and stayed with the patient until the very end," Melnikov wrote, adding that currently the patient is out of danger.
