Transcript
00:00In this business, like everybody has a million names, you know, obviously my real name is Paul
00:20Levesque, but nobody in the business called me that until only a few years ago. But, you know,
00:25a lot of guys also call me Hunter, a lot of guys call me Triple H, a lot of guys call me H, a lot of guys call me Trips.
00:34It's all about Triple H!
00:36Back 20, 30 years ago, you never talked about somebody outside of their characters.
00:44The world has changed.
00:46People that aren't fans think, like, isn't that just a bunch of guys pretending to fight?
00:53You've got a map down in your head.
00:54I believe that our business is actually more complex than anybody understands.
00:59Tell them to go now, tell them to go now.
01:01This is a calculated, coordinated production.
01:05Seven days a week, 365 days a year.
01:09Soap opera, baby.
01:10Show business.
01:11The story never ends.
01:14You guys had no idea, right?
01:15No, no.
01:15And as we enter into a new era here, there are a million things to figure out.
01:22We have one of the all-time greats coming back for a retirement run.
01:30We have incredible performers still in their prime.
01:34We have storylines that are years in the making.
01:40Young talent that will become that next generation of superstars.
01:45I won't put a rocket on your ass.
01:47Everybody wants a spot.
01:50But there are only so many available.
01:53Oh, my God.
01:54Yeah, I fucking peed myself.
01:56That is the biggest challenge.
01:59It's like putting together a puzzle.
02:01But the pieces are always moving.
02:03Oh, God.
02:04We're going to lift the curtain.
02:06We're going to show you things you've never seen in this show.
02:08Oh, no, no, no.
02:09Through the ladder.
02:10He might be dead.
02:12You okay?
02:12For the first time ever, we're going to show you how the story unfolded.
02:19John, before your eyes.
02:21I was so scared not to come back.
02:23It's good enough for the fans.
02:25I'm fucking losing it right now.
02:26You've always been a main event guy.
02:28I don't get here without you.
02:30This is absolute insanity.
02:32I need your soul.
02:36Ready?
02:37Here it is.
02:38Two.
02:38Give him two camera.
02:39Two camera.
02:42Just get started, man.
03:02Hey!
03:03Yay!
03:05Ah!
03:05Papa!
03:06Hey.
03:06How are you?
03:08Good.
03:09You want to do some Christmas stuff today?
03:10Do you want to put ornaments on the tree?
03:12Yeah!
03:13Okay.
03:14Do you want to put this?
03:15You want to put this guy?
03:16Shawn Michaels.
03:16Gingerbread Shawn Michaels.
03:18He was my favorite wrestler.
03:21He looked just like that, too.
03:22Like gingerbread.
03:23Yeah, he was made of gingerbread.
03:25They used to call it sweet chin music because of the gingerbread.
03:29My name is Cody Runnels.
03:33And my wrestling name and what I go by, and pretty much I've gone by my whole life, is Cody Rhodes.
03:40Libby thinks that Cody is a professional dancer.
03:48Because she saw entrances, which is the big music and the lighting, I think she thinks there's a component of dancing to it.
03:56And has asked me before, are you going to go dancing?
03:59Will you be dancing?
04:00And I think she's even said, when we showed her a couple clips on YouTube, oh, this is the dancing.
04:09It's not the worst.
04:15Parallel.
04:20I'm good with that.
04:24If, when I ask what Papa does for a living, I'm a dancer.
04:28For my daughter, I'd be the best staring dancer I possibly can be.
04:33My role in WWE is that I am currently the undisputed WWE champion.
04:43The American Nightmare is here!
04:47It is a role that is kind of the hood ornament for the company.
04:52I get to be one of the most authentic, if not most authentic, wrestlers of this era, simply for the fact that I play myself.
05:02I am myself.
05:04Cody is the closest thing right now, I think, that we have to just a pure babyface.
05:10That spot, in my opinion, probably the most difficult spot in the business right now.
05:17Easy to be a bad guy.
05:19Tell people a bunch of convoluted shit that seems reasonable to you, and that's fun and easy.
05:25Just to be the guy that does the right thing all the time and overcomes and always succeeds, people start to feel it's predictable.
05:33People start to feel like it's, like nobody's that good.
05:36You know, it's a tough thing.
05:37I felt like such a bigger babyface to me.
05:42Really?
05:43As white meat as you could be.
05:45Yeah.
05:46As fucking white meat as you could be.
05:48Be that way until we can anymore, you know?
05:51It ain't going anywhere.
05:53Now we just got to navigate it.
05:54That's our fucking job.
05:55Our job, me, you, fucking everybody.
05:57But we navigate this now and figure out where we need to get it.
06:01At some point here in a minute, I need to get a picture of you with that.
06:05Okay, I'll do it now.
06:06One of my favorite ones ever, man.
06:08There's a huge difference between being a wrestler and the WWE champion.
06:15I've seen Cody through every one of those seasons, and this by far, the demand of the job is unimaginable.
06:24I'm incredibly lucky that my wife and I met in wrestling.
06:30Otherwise, she would have left.
06:31She knows what this push is.
06:34She knows what it could mean for the future.
06:36And she knows what it means right here and now.
06:41People say it all the time.
06:42The face of the company.
06:44Yeah.
06:45When people say that, my heart, like, skips a beat.
06:50Um, because I always wanted to be that.
06:54I just didn't know I could.
06:56There you go.
06:56Look.
06:57It's perfect.
06:57So, January 6th, the premiere on Netflix, Fun Raw, is massively important for this company.
07:22Putting us on a platform that is, what, 300 million homes in that ballpark, globally, is a lot of people.
07:34Uh, yeah, sure.
07:35Jan Six?
07:37Yes.
07:37Yes, sir.
07:39Paul is our chief content officer.
07:41His experience as being a former superstar for so many years has kind of helped aid him.
07:48As a performer, he was great.
07:50Triple H with a pedigree.
07:52Triple H wins the title.
07:56He was a student of the game.
07:57Tonight, an army to take care.
08:00You know, kind of understood the bigger picture of storytelling.
08:04So, now he's brought that to his role as chief content officer here.
08:09I think Cody doesn't have, like, a role in this show.
08:13I think he's been eyeballing this show as far as, like, wanting to be a part of it.
08:16He has, yeah.
08:16You know, he hits me fucking every day.
08:19With Cody Rhodes, the bigger the star, the more you want to provide some scarcity of their star power to keep them as big as they are.
08:30So, it's special when Cody Rhodes is there.
08:33And fans see that and feel that, and they're anticipating your return even more.
08:39So, you have to know where everything is going long term and way in advance.
08:43So, we tend to break it down sort of into seasons.
08:48The season will start with January 6th, the Netflix premiere.
08:54We'll do the weekly television shows at minimum twice a week.
08:59Along the way, we will do the Royal Rumble, which kicks off the road to Wrestlemania.
09:05We will do Elimination Chamber, which continues that road to Wrestlemania.
09:09And then we will get to Wrestlemania itself, which is a two-day, basically, it's our Super Bowl.
09:14Along the way, you're building up these storylines.
09:20Obviously, the biggest storylines revolve around our biggest stars, chief among them being Cody Rhodes.
09:26But John Cena is coming back for one last year of a retirement run, arguably one of the greatest performers in the history of our business.
09:38And the return of John is a wonderful thing and a challenge at the same time.
09:45My name is John Cena.
09:46The name I use in the ring is John Cena.
09:48My government name is John Cena.
09:51Wrestling is the foundation of the house of my family relationship.
09:55I grew up in a family of five boys, and wrestling was our conduit.
10:00It was our connection system.
10:02I appreciate this as my hobby.
10:06It's the best of imagination land.
10:10Not only did I do it during my free time, but I paid to do it.
10:14Then I am the future of this business.
10:17So, I would do this for free.
10:21I just physically can't do it anymore.
10:22Cody Rhodes has, in many ways, kind of inherited that mantle from John Cena.
10:29And Cody understood just how much the Netflix premiere meant for the company.
10:35And Cody, I think, just feeling as if he is, he calls himself, the quarterback of the team, he wanted to be a part of it.
10:42Cody wants a save, Cena.
10:44I know.
10:45Cody wants it, like, they all square up to fucking, you know, take Cena down, and Cody rubs it and fucking makes a save.
10:52Totally understood.
10:53That was the big shows in company history.
10:55Cody is no fucking franchise player.
10:57I remember a reason to have him on the show.
10:59I'm just like, we don't have a half a dozen heels who are just, everybody's got stories.
11:03So, it's like, we're going to chuck Judgment Day out there.
11:05You know, it's, yeah.
11:07Also, I get Cody's point of view, but also, like, it was the first time we see John Cena in, what, a year?
11:17But, like, the first time he comes out, like, somebody's got to save him.
11:21It just feels off to me, too.
11:22We can write and choreograph whatever we want back here.
11:29You have to be ready for the element you can't control, and that's the audience.
11:33If you ignore them, man, they will skewer you.
11:38But I think whatever a performer does, they have to invest in it, and the roster's pretty deep.
11:44We got a lot of all-stars.
11:45So, right now, I have Punk and Seth, Roman and Solo, Rhea and Liv.
11:53Matches are so big, you wouldn't want to give them time.
11:56Yes.
12:06I love, like, taxidermy stuff.
12:09So, I have a two-headed duck.
12:11I have an octopus, a bat, crocodile.
12:15I have this little, like, mozzie mosquito.
12:18This is, like, a shrunken head.
12:21Like, I love creepy artwork and dark colors, and I love all of that stuff.
12:27That's why my office looks like this.
12:31Technically, my name is Demity Bennett, but I go by Rhea Ripley, and that's what everyone really knows me by.
12:37Rhea is a goddess name, and Ripley is from the chick from Aliens, because she's a badass, and I just put them together.
12:45Ah, ah, thought it made sense.
12:48I'm from Adelaide, South Australia.
12:50I watched WWE growing up, absolutely loved it.
12:55WWE came to Australia when I was 17 years old, and they gave me a tryout then, but I was too young.
13:01They ended up coming back when I was 20, and they had another tryout, so they invited me to that.
13:07And, yeah, I mean, the rest is pretty much history.
13:15It's weird describing Rhea Ripley for me, because I am Rhea Ripley.
13:20It's just, like, a ten-times version of myself.
13:25She's crazy.
13:26Rhea!
13:28Riptide!
13:29Through the table!
13:30She's kind of scary, but you're kind of attracted to her at the same time.
13:34Rhea Ripley, absolutely possessed!
13:37I like to say that it's the side of me that would get arrested in everyday life.
13:41Oh!
13:43She's just absolutely chaotic and sadistic and manipulative.
13:47It's all the sides of me that I don't like to show in my everyday life.
13:51I'm always, like, Demi Bennett right before, and I'm, like, freaking out,
13:56and then as soon as my music plays, I'm Rhea Ripley.
13:59This is what we're talking about!
14:01This is what we're talking about!
14:06When that music hits, it's a moment in the crowd, and it's undeniable.
14:13She has it.
14:13She can be the biggest star in this business for a long time to come.
14:18Yeah, I...
14:20Sorry, my dog is playing with this tennis ball.
14:24But this is Luna.
14:26She's my first child.
14:27Barry's my second.
14:28And then Bella is my third.
14:30Barry's always everyone's favorite.
14:33Aren't you, Baz?
14:33And you're the most annoying middle child that I have ever met.
14:38Huh?
14:39Yeah.
14:40You got bad breath, too.
14:42So the story between me, Liv, and Dom has actually been going for, like, an eternity.
14:48It feels like it...
14:50This has gone on long enough.
14:53Liv and I...
14:54We have been feuding for, like, three years.
15:01Look, Morgan!
15:02It's been a long time, because we started as a tag team.
15:05And Dom and I, we kind of just, like, we kind of got put into this storyline together,
15:11which I don't think was supposed to be a relationship storyline.
15:15And then Liv Morgan decided to try and steal my family, which she accomplished.
15:21Dom turned on me and helped Liv beat me for the Women's World Championship.
15:29It was a wild ride.
15:33Ah! You're dead to me!
15:36Done!
15:37Get out of my business!
15:40Before that, she ruined my entire life at work.
15:44And she's sort of sucker attacking you, and...
15:49Did you want me to sort of fight back a little bit, or just take it and, like...
15:52Depends on what she's, like, what is she throwing? Do we know?
15:59And that's where my whole year kind of changed.
16:04Liv Morgan attacking the Women's Champion!
16:07She threw me into the wall.
16:09But, like, I have a third-grade AC sprain.
16:11I full-on broke character as well.
16:15In...in that scene.
16:17My collarbone and my shoulder blade got ripped apart.
16:21She had to kick me into the second wall.
16:22But my shoulder was already stuffed up, so I'm, like, holding my arm.
16:27When Liv gets on me, it's like punching me in the shoulder.
16:30In the bad shoulder.
16:31And I was, like, somebody, please get her off me.
16:38Bruh.
16:38I felt it.
16:40As soon as I hit the wall, I was, like...
16:42I grabbed it, and I was, like, oh, shit.
16:45I threw myself into the wall.
16:48And, too.
16:48I'm gonna make it down to Chad Gable now!
16:51Yeah.
16:52Oh, the pump.
16:53You're gonna give me a separation.
16:55That's what I'm gonna have.
16:56So, I had a Grade 3 AC sprain, which means that my shoulder blade and my collarbone aren't
17:06connected anymore.
17:07The only way to get them back together is through surgery, and I opted not.
17:12So, like, it was either surgery, you have a scar, or no surgery, you have a massive lump
17:17in your shoulder.
17:18So, um, that's why I have this bad boy.
17:23So, he looks pretty gnarly sometimes.
17:27But it's just gonna be there until I decide to fix it, if I do.
17:31Because I can still go back and have the surgery.
17:33I just don't want to have that extra time off, because it's gonna be six months compared
17:37to three months.
17:38I know this sucks.
17:40Do not freak out.
17:41We will make this into something wonderful, okay?
17:43I'm sorry.
17:46I'm sorry.
17:46I'm sorry about physical business.
17:50Shit gets everybody.
17:52Nobody walks out on skis.
17:54All right.
17:55All right.
17:57Shut up.
17:58All right.
18:03My entire life I've done this, so I can't say it's any harder now just because I'm older.
18:17You know?
18:18It's always been tough.
18:22Suffering is relative.
18:23It's situational.
18:24So, now I think the landscape is changing so much, and that excites me.
18:29So, I'm looking at that as, like, this is uncharted water.
18:33I've never been more excited.
18:36My name is Punk, CM Punk, Punker, Cookie Monster, Pepsi Phil, Black Phillip.
18:45My government name is Phil.
18:47Yeah, it's a white accountant's name.
18:52I started wrestling in my friend's backyard in 1993.
18:56I started wrestling professionally in 1997.
19:01I was always drawn to punk rock because if there was a rule of punk rock, it's be yourself.
19:08I have a hall of fame career I could put up against anybody.
19:13Oh, my God! CM Punk is leaving with a WWE championship!
19:18But if there was one thing in the sport I have not accomplished, it's main event in Wrestlemania.
19:25Initially, Hunter and I clashed because I was a main talent roster full-time the same time he was a main
19:35talent roster full-time, so there's that competition.
19:38And a lot of that generation was looking down at kids like me saying,
19:43oh, you're here to take my spot.
19:45Well, I'm not going to let you, or at least it's going to be a fight.
19:48Halfway through my career here, he becomes office, and now I'm like,
19:52fuck you, you can't tell me anything.
19:54I always felt like my job was I'm in between office and the talent.
20:00But punk would never let me assist, and he would then sometimes attack me.
20:06Like, you know, where there would be moments where we'd have a meeting and he'd come at me
20:09and I'd leave there thinking like, this little motherfucker.
20:14Punk didn't trust me, and I didn't trust punk.
20:17I had been on the road 365 days a year for 10 years straight.
20:23After a while,
20:24the wheels fell off.
20:27John Cena, while you lay there, I have a lot of things I want to get off my chest.
20:35And you can say that I have a big mouth and I talked a lot of shit.
20:40That doesn't mean anything I said was nothing short of 100% fact.
20:46I'm not on your lovely little collector cups.
20:49I'm not on the cover of the program.
20:51I'm barely promoted. I don't get to be in movies.
20:54But the fact that Dwayne is in the main event of WrestleMania next year and I'm not makes me sick.
21:03This was Phil Brooks talking through the mouth of CM Punk
21:07and saying all the things that you weren't supposed to say.
21:11If I didn't take myself off the hamster wheel, nobody else was gonna,
21:16and they were gonna, they were gonna work me until I died.
21:21When I left this place in 2014, I was heartbroken.
21:25It took maybe 10 years for me to heal from a lot of things.
21:30We'd had conversations over the years for me to be able to come back here and just nothing, nothing stuck.
21:37I felt like how he communicated with others needed to change.
21:44One time when he and I met after he had left, this is years later,
21:49where there was a conversation about him coming back.
21:51I said, still the same dude, won't work.
21:55The last time that we met and talked with him, I felt like he honestly was different.
22:01It seemed almost like in the phone call, we both realized, like, oh, he's different.
22:05No, I'm different.
22:09Let's give it a shot.
22:10It has been quite the night at the Soldown Allstate Arena in Chicago.
22:24It's fair to say that me returning to WWE is the biggest return of all time.
22:37Do you want to put on a picture with me and you and blow up the internet?
22:39Uh, yeah, what do you want to do?
22:40Say it in front of the logo.
22:42Go right, yeah.
22:43Oh, oh, are you gonna point at me?
22:45I'm gonna point back at you.
22:46I don't know if it's ever been done.
22:48Creating a cognitive champion.
22:50He clearly knows he's much closer to the end than he is the beginning.
22:54When you get to a certain age, you start thinking about,
22:56look, I'm one big injury away from, I don't want to do this anymore.
23:03Looking at myself and my career right now, I think my role on the roster is...
23:10Yeah, I feel like we need to take another picture.
23:12Yeah?
23:12Like, work out and then...
23:13I'm the player coach.
23:14Can we do that?
23:15Yeah.
23:16Can you take a picture for us?
23:17I'm a huge mark for Ria today.
23:21I love it.
23:21For Ria?
23:22Yes.
23:25I have years of experience that a lot of people don't have.
23:30I have made more mistakes and I am happy to help them learn from them.
23:37I love you, Jacob.
23:38I love you, punk.
23:39By the way, can I get a picture with you out there?
23:41Yeah, 100 percent.
23:45Yes!
23:47On January 6th, it is not just the launch of Raw on Netflix.
23:55It is a new launch of WWE Worldwide.
24:00Woo-hoo!
24:02Triple it!
24:03Triple it!
24:04Triple it!
24:05Triple it!
24:07Main eventing WrestleMania meant that you were the number one guy in the industry.
24:13I'm looking at Netflix like there's only one debut Raw broadcast.
24:19Let's do it.
24:20Start by putting over the match.
24:21We're gonna call Seth out.
24:22He's in my head.
24:23That's the thing.
24:24I'm gonna hold him again.
24:25It gets in your face.
24:26Right there.
24:27And at some point, boom.
24:28Yeah!
24:29Ladies and gentlemen, CM Punk!
24:31CM Punk!
24:32CM Punk!
24:33CM Punk!
24:34CM Punk!
24:35CM Punk!
24:36CM Punk!
24:37CM Punk!
24:38CM Punk!
24:39CM Punk!
24:40On its first night, Monday Night Raw on Netflix, one of the most anticipated matches ever.
24:44You against Seth Rollins, personal animosity, disdain.
24:47Seth right now looks and sounds like CM Punk from 2013.
24:52I know, you know, everybody else knows.
24:55This is your last chance.
24:58One of two things is gonna happen.
25:00You're gonna self-destruct like you always do, or if by some miracle you have changed, and you've got any gas left in this old tank, maybe one day you'll be lucky enough to stand across the ring from me, and then I will expose you for the fraud that you are.
25:24I think to understand, you have to talk about the history between myself and Seth Rollins, and it goes back quite a bit.
25:35You're talking about a 16-year-old Seth Rollins came to CM Punk and asked him to train him for free.
25:44Now, that entitlement, I think, has carried over into the adult Seth Rollins.
25:50Now, I don't claim to do those things because I wanted to thank you.
25:54I recognized that that 16-year-old kid had all the potential in the world.
25:59And in my absence from this company, Seth did a fantastic job of filling that vacuum, but simply put the starters back.
26:07Second string got to sit back down on the bench.
26:20Welcome back to the house that I built when you abandoned ship.
26:25I got nothing left to say.
26:28Who's the bootlicker now, bitch?
26:31Come on.
26:33I got nothing left to say.
26:35I have a microphone.
26:36I don't need a mic.
26:37I don't need a microphone.
26:38I don't need a mic.
26:40We can do this right here, right now.
26:41You're on the 6th.
26:42Beginning and the end.
26:43It's my time now, baby.
26:45Ladies and gentlemen, in 19 nights, the series premiere.
26:53Let me applaud on that one.
26:54Let me applaud.
27:01Yeah, so before we get into anything deeper than that, let's talk about guerrilla position.
27:09You know, years ago, when TV production started to become a thing, guerrilla monsoon, very famous wrestler, he was timing things and controlling things from the area right before talent would walk out to go to the ring.
27:33That became known as guerrilla position.
27:37Guerrilla position in today's world, it is the epicenter of everything we do.
27:44The show is run from there.
27:47The guerrilla position is probably the most important position in the arena.
27:54Have a great show, guys.
27:55You basically control the world that night, your world, the world, wrestling and entertainment is controlled from the guerrilla position.
28:08You know, the guerrilla position is very unique.
28:11In every arena, it's custom built.
28:15However, the inside and the workings of it are the same.
28:19There's primarily three tables set up inside guerrilla position.
28:21There's one table where Triple H and Bruce Prichard are sitting.
28:26There's another table where Billy Kidman, who is our producer responsible for timing out the show and keeping tabs on times.
28:33Next to him will sit the respective match producer.
28:37As a producer, I'm basically the liaison, if you will, between the talent and the heads of creative.
28:44Stay tight right here.
28:46He'll convert this over.
28:50Nice.
28:50All of our producers are former in-ring talents.
28:54So, for example, Chris Park, who was known as Abyss.
28:59Another match producer is Bobby Roode.
29:03Michael Hayes from the fabulous Freebirds is our longest tenured producer.
29:08And Bruce Prichard is the executive director of the creative writing team.
29:12So, the mechanics during the match for me and the reason I'm wearing a headset is I'm talking to the truck, keeping them about 10 or 15 seconds ahead of what's going on in the ring so that the cameras capture the story that we're trying to tell.
29:26The whole story is we want to catch Puck looking to the top of the cage for this last one.
29:31Punk's eyes.
29:32Yeah, there it is.
29:34That is a great shot.
29:36Another thing that I'm doing on that headset as well is I'm talking to the referees.
29:39The referees can hear me.
29:41We need to go, Spider.
29:42We need to go.
29:43Get him there quick.
29:45I told him, I told him.
29:47The producers are talking to the referees.
29:51All right, stay with Jacob.
29:52Braun's going to meet him with a chair that he's pulling from behind timekeepers.
29:55It's a whole other world in my earpiece.
29:57So, the fans, you guys are seeing just two wrestlers wrestling, you know.
30:01But in my ear, I'm listening to at least, in a match, like five different things.
30:05Jacob, Jacob okay?
30:08Everybody's good.
30:09He's selling.
30:09If the talent needs to pick up their energy, needs to have more urgency, needs to slow down, let something breathe,
30:18whatever that instruction is, it goes right through the ref.
30:23Be careful.
30:24We're swinging a chair near the fans.
30:27Brock, be careful.
30:28Oh, damn it.
30:29Do not push fans.
30:31Right to the gun, right to the back, to the back again.
30:34Oh, those are extras.
30:35Yes, those are extras.
30:41Timing's probably the biggest pitfall that we need to look out for.
30:45I can relay messages through the referees to the talent.
30:49So, a lot of times, it's, hey, guys, we only have two minutes left.
30:51We're not going to be able to fit all four of this in.
30:53So, that becomes stressful.
30:54Going heavy or going short are equally bad.
31:01So, plan A, hit your time.
31:04Plan B, hit your time.
31:06How much time are we in?
31:08Oh, we're good.
31:09Seven and eight left.
31:10We're good.
31:10We're good.
31:11We're real good.
31:12Our business is about telling stories.
31:15This is awesome.
31:16Thanks.
31:17Everything we want it.
31:18More.
31:19And the epicenter of making that happen, in real time, live, is guerrilla position.
31:43Larry.
31:43Damien.
31:47Damien.
31:49Damien.
31:51Good boy.
31:53Good boy.
31:55I'm going to go to work, okay?
32:07I just feel this incredible weight of pressure and responsibility.
32:13And these are the moments in where I move the best.
32:21This is where I thrive.
32:24Calm waters don't make good sailors.
32:30I think everybody needs a little bit of the adversity.
32:35Maybe a little less bullshit, but the adversity is a good thing.
32:39How are you feeling back tonight?
32:43I'm not there yet.
32:47I'm good.
32:48I'm good.
32:49I'm good.
32:50Unless you're not fucking tagging.
32:51No, I don't.
32:53I don't.
32:53I want you to do your thing.
32:54Well, then we're all fun.
32:55I'm good.
32:56I'm good.
32:56It's all right.
32:56Hey.
32:56Yes.
32:57How are you doing?
33:01The day came, and it was just stressful.
33:06Just plain and simple stressful.
33:09I just didn't have any brain cells working that day.
33:16It felt like this was the biggest show of the year.
33:25Also, it was living my big blow-off match as well.
33:30I had all these things going through my mind.
33:36I don't know if I prepared.
33:38I definitely didn't sleep.
33:39I don't know if I'm dehydrated.
33:41I know that I'm not ready for this.
33:51I was almost in tears.
33:58Just couldn't switch on at all.
34:04I didn't even know what makeup I wanted.
34:06I had gear made because it was such a big deal,
34:13and I didn't even end up wearing it.
34:14I just wore something else because I was like,
34:16I can't think.
34:18I can't put that on.
34:19I don't think it looks good on me because we just had Christmas, too,
34:21so I ate a little bit much.
34:23I'm like, I don't want to wear that, you know?
34:26So, girl problems, I know.
34:32How are you?
34:33Good to see you.
34:34Oh, yeah.
34:34Countdown, 10, 9, 8, in here.
34:38I think that's okay.
34:39Appreciate you.
34:40I'm going to go lay down.
34:42He's saying...
34:43Paul sent me a text, and he said,
34:45it's like mania.
34:46I broke back the finger.
34:48So I can do it.
34:49Tonight, I'm not taking the back seat,
34:51but I can sit back a little bit and enjoy it.
34:57And this is...
34:58You know, it's time for the farewell tour.
35:00This hurts your hip or, like, your SI joint.
35:04We'll be on.
35:06We'll be on.
35:16I thought and always want this to be right for you for the year.
35:18I want you to get to the end of this year and be like,
35:21man, that was everything I hoped it would be.
35:23You know?
35:23Well, it's like the last page in a 500-page book.
35:29Yeah.
35:29All of us would really have to fuck it up
35:32for that last page to ruin the $4.99.
35:35There's a way.
35:36Sure.
35:37Sure.
35:37But I'll play the stats and say it's not going to happen.
35:41Man, what a night.
35:43Yeah.
35:44Thanks for helping us get here, man.
35:45This is Los Angeles at home tonight
35:53doing historic Monday Night Raw
35:55and its premiere on Netflix.
35:59Are you ready?
36:02This is the WWE and we are louder
36:09than anything you have ever seen before.
36:15Welcome to Monday Night Raw.
36:19Welcome to the Netflix era.
36:23You feel like mania.
36:33You talk about history.
36:34You talk about record breaking.
36:35These things I'll be talking about forever.
36:36That's this evening.
36:38And tonight is about to be the greatest night
36:40in the history of wrestling.
36:45Hit this man!
36:47When The Rock is cooking.
36:51The Rock.
36:52Kicking off the Netflix era.
37:00Carrying the People's Championship
37:02that was given to him
37:04by the widow of Muhammad Ali.
37:11Finally, The Rock has come back
37:15to Los Angeles.
37:17Before we get the show on the road,
37:26I want to acknowledge
37:27this man has carried this company
37:30on his back for a year.
37:32Cody Rhodes.
37:34Thank you, brother.
37:34Thank you for the night.
37:44Enjoy this man.
37:46I'll do my best.
37:47I know it's tough
37:48because we get in business mode,
37:49but man...
37:50I will.
37:51Enjoy this.
37:51I'm always present out there,
37:52so I'll do my best.
37:53Congratulations.
37:54Thank you, brother.
37:57Every event is a new live event,
37:59and I only have a few more next ones left.
38:05But I've always lived by the philosophy
38:07that you're only as good as your next one.
38:09I enjoy when our audience takes over
38:18and trying to figure out
38:21that Rubik's Cube
38:22and that riddle of
38:23what do I do now?
38:26This is what this year is about.
38:29It's about making moments,
38:30and who am I going to face at WrestleMania?
38:32Who am I going to face
38:32in my last match in December?
38:34They're throwing out all kinds of names
38:36like Drew McIntyre.
38:39C.M. Punk.
38:45Cody Rhodes.
38:48The best way to say thank you to you
38:50is win the Royal Rumble
38:51and make history at WrestleMania.
38:54Right?
38:56You want some?
38:59Come get some!
39:07John, that was awesome.
39:08Thank you so much, man.
39:12Besides, I don't want to bother you.
39:13I just want to say good luck.
39:15Do your thing.
39:16Do your thing.
39:17Thank you for everything.
39:19Yes.
39:19All right, man.
39:20Thanks for caring to come.
39:21All right.
39:22Thanks for caring to come.
39:33Roll out.
39:34Head back.
39:35Boom.
39:35Go for her a little bit.
39:37Go to get her.
39:37Head kick.
39:38Boom.
39:38She whips me.
39:39I duck under.
39:40I go under.
39:41It's grip time.
39:42Boom.
39:42One, two, one.
39:43Oh my God.
39:45What the fuck?
39:46Dom.
39:47Boom.
39:48Victoria.
39:49Hit her.
39:50She drops the chair, turn around, fuck it. Whoa.
39:55It's a lot.
39:56I know.
39:58I like to go to Priest, and I like to just, like,
40:01go over what I'm gonna be doing out there.
40:04Yeah, it's a lot. Just be prepared to cut.
40:08And because you can't just rush through everything
40:11without your emotion.
40:13So it was just him pretty much telling me, like,
40:15less is more, which is a massive thing in this business.
40:18Like, less is really more.
40:21Like I said, either slapping the mat or just a fucking scream,
40:24but, like, to yourself, not even for the crowd.
40:26It's just realistic, you know what I mean?
40:28Like, you're like, and you stand up, and then you catch that.
40:31And then, I mean, mouth something if you want to say something,
40:33like, naturally, for real, like, to look at her and be like,
40:37now I'm gonna fucking kill you without the fuck, but...
40:41Take it easy.
40:43But then it's so weird, because, like, I went from
40:46having an emotional breakdown and a massive panic attack
40:50to hearing my music, walking out there and being completely fine.
40:53I'll eat, sleep, bleed, the demons in your dreams.
41:03I'll eat, sleep, bleed.
41:05I'll eat, sleep, bleed, the demons in your dreams.
41:09Tonight, an opportunity for Rhea Ripley to get a title back.
41:13If you look up the word superstar in the dictionary,
41:19that woman's face would be on that page.
41:22Rhea Ripley has it all.
41:25And then, just wanting to really blow that match out of the water.
41:36I feel like I've been living Groundhog Day
41:39for, like, the past two and a half years.
41:44So now that this is the end,
41:47it's kind of weird.
41:49Looking for a rip-tie now, on Morgan,
41:51rip-tied by Ripley, stacks up Morgan for the championship!
41:55Morgan kicked out!
41:57It was just hard coming up with a different way to do it all.
42:01But we kind of, like, grabbed the ball and ran with it.
42:05Referee didn't see it! Covered!
42:09All right, we still got about 45 seconds until we're back.
42:12Let her know, 45 seconds, she can grab a hold of shots.
42:15Grab a hold of shots. Grab that hold.
42:21Liv and I really just wanted to go off with a bang.
42:25Keep Rhea's face in this, she's gonna get pissed.
42:27Somehow get into this.
42:31Looking for a Bolivian yet again, this time intercepted.
42:33Rhea intercepted Liv.
42:35Not this time around, Rhea says.
42:38Looking into the eyes of Rhea.
42:40Bloody Ripley!
42:43The reaction for her is incredible.
42:46It's hard not to look at her
42:49as the most captivating woman on our roster.
42:55Rhea again, setting up Morgan for another rip-tie!
42:59Rhea's not done yet!
43:01A second rip-tie!
43:03Third of the match! Covered!
43:06Rhea Ripley wins the Women's World Title!
43:10And new!
43:13Ladies and gentlemen,
43:15scrapped a rocket to her back!
43:17Put Monday Night Raw on it!
43:20What is this idiot doing?
43:22Of course, we all know Dominic's a gold digger.
43:25Of course he wants Rhea back, she's the champ now!
43:28Rhea's face.
43:29Yeah, stay wide, don't miss this kick.
43:32Yes!
43:37That was deep.
43:38Yeah, very deep.
43:40Riptide!
43:42To dumbass Dominic Mysterio!
43:48Congratulations to the brand-new Women's World Champion,
43:53Rhea Ripley!
43:55Rhea Ripley!
43:56Yeah!
43:57Good job, Amy!
43:58Good job!
43:59Yeah!
44:00Yeah, it was fun, wasn't it?
44:01Fun!
44:02Great job!
44:03Sorry, I had to rush.
44:04I thought we were going to do the program right now.
44:05It was great.
44:07So proud of you.
44:08So proud of everything you've done.
44:10I can't tell you a time when I have felt like,
44:14hey, who's the most over person in the company right now?
44:17And it's not like you're not one of the most over women here,
44:21one of the most over people here.
44:23It's amazing.
44:25It's really great.
44:26Your aura is off the chart.
44:28Congratulations.
44:29So good.
44:31So proud of you.
44:33I appreciate it.
44:34Just getting started.
44:35Today was a completely different feeling.
44:38I know how much pressure was riding on this.
44:41I mean, I think it was a very successful night.
44:44We went out there.
44:46The crowd was into it the entire time,
44:48so I'm grateful to everyone here at WWE.
44:52for letting the little girl in me from Athlete South Australia
44:56live out her wildest dreams.
44:58So you guys are my brutally honest European friends?
45:02You tell me how it is when I'm done.
45:04You know it.
45:05Depends on that.
45:06Those are the moments we're doing it for.
45:08High pressure?
45:09Yeah.
45:10Big expectations?
45:11Yes.
45:12I told Hunter today, you know, this big thing 10,
45:1812 years ago about the main event of WrestleMania.
45:21This is, why did I fucking get what I asked for?
45:24Oh, yeah.
45:25Hell, yeah.
45:26I'm looking at that Rob debut like, holy shit.
45:35I constantly have what I call anticipatory anxiety now.
45:39Like right now, I'm just riddled with it.
45:42In a way, I'm almost waiting for it to all be over.
45:46The only time I'm not gonna feel that way
45:49is when the red light's on and the bell rings.
45:54I have no boss.
45:55I'm 100% in control.
45:58I can do whatever the fuck I want.
46:00Here we go.
46:04Two men that are beloved by the WWE Universe.
46:07Seth freakin' Rollins and a man who has become his arch nemesis.
46:12CM Punk.
46:15Yolos, time-wise, just give me before 8 o'clock.
46:26Gotcha.
46:27We're good.
46:28We're just trying to back load it, Bruce.
46:30Keep the line.
46:31Yes, sir.
46:32People had in their own minds that it's Netflix.
46:37We can go two hours, we can go three hours,
46:39we can go four hours if we want.
46:41Not true.
46:43You've gotta try to keep the emotions in check.
46:48It was a great match, it was awesome.
46:50Now Seth Rollins gonna send Punk into the barricade.
46:54But it was way long.
46:56Oh, and Rollins sent out into the middle of the WWE fans.
47:01Both these men are figuring out
47:03what the hell's gonna have to happen to get a win here tonight.
47:06Excellent, excellent.
47:08And Rollins...
47:10How over are we right now, Billy?
47:12How long?
47:14A minute 45.
47:18Once guys are in the ring, there's not a lot you can do.
47:24On his shoulders, looking for the go to sleep!
47:26He connects!
47:27With Punk's finish, he moved!
47:28The GPS!
47:29Come on, man.
47:30We gotta go, we gotta go.
47:32From producers to writers to talent,
47:35everybody has to be able to edit on the spot.
47:38If I was gonna cut anything, I would cut the Anaconda vice out.
47:42Just throw that out to Phil.
47:44Oh, it's done!
47:45Now using Rollins' finishing move!
47:48One, two, three!
47:50One, two, three!
47:53I'm sorry, Bruce.
47:54Bruce, I'm pushing him, Bruce.
47:56I'm pushing him.
47:57Seth Rollins, looking for a neck breaker.
48:00Punk counter with a kick to the side of the head.
48:02Back that up so quick.
48:04Running high knee-ho.
48:05Rollins caught him, intercepted him this time!
48:07We're gonna get a buckle bomb here.
48:09They cut it out.
48:10Yes, Bruce, we're heading home.
48:11We're heading home.
48:12Buckle bomb!
48:13We're heading home.
48:14So this is the finish right here.
48:16Two men who've defined so much here in WWE over the past 20 years.
48:23A match years in the making has come down to this.
48:27Two men, both five-time world champions, physically exhausted.
48:31Rollins able to scale to the top rope.
48:34He's got Punk where he wants him.
48:35Superplex rolled through by Rollins.
48:38Look for the Falcon Arrow!
48:40Punk, GTS, go to sleep!
48:43And I think he was out.
48:46Just so happened to fall right back on to see him, Punk's shoulders.
48:50Punk trying to muscle him up.
48:57He does!
48:59A second go to sleep!
49:02One, two, three!
49:06CM Punk wins!
49:08Here is your winner!
49:11CM Punk!
49:16What a fight!
49:19What a night!
49:21Help get Punk to his feet.
49:24You can go off the air as he's getting them up here, Brian.
49:27Official Rod Zapata able to get Punk to his feet.
49:31Thank you, everyone around the world for watching this history-making night.
49:38Hey, Chris!
49:40Bruce, I'm sorry we went over.
49:42We know it was two and a half.
49:44We cut out a bunch of shit.
49:46We cut out the anaconda vice.
49:47It was overwritten.
49:48It was overproduced.
49:49It was over everything else.
49:50It's fine.
49:51It was a great show.
49:52Yes, sir.
49:53Thanks, Bruce.
49:54Thank you, man.
49:55Don't put yourself up.
49:58I'm not.
49:59I'm not.
50:00I'm not.
50:01I want to make this man happy.
50:02That's all.
50:03Is he mad at me?
50:04No.
50:05No.
50:06Make me happy.
50:07You'd be happy with yourself.
50:09I am.
50:10Right.
50:11I am.
50:12I think I feel way better than I'm supposed to.
50:16But I'm also high on adrenaline right now, so it's, you know, it's a process.
50:20Once I calm down, I'm sure I'm gonna feel all the bumps and bruises.
50:23What's my name?
50:25C.F. Paul!
50:26C.F. Paul!
50:27If you grow up loving wrestling and watching, you want to be that guy.
50:33You want to accomplish the boyhood dream.
50:35You want to be those guys who are picked.
50:38Picked and put in that position.
50:41And I was tonight.
50:49When that last match gets done and you sit back in your chair and you go,
50:54Man, that was awesome.
50:56The opportunity has never been bigger for talent to create a moment for yourself no matter what we give you.
51:13You're welcome.
51:14Congratulations.
51:15Thank you so much for everything.
51:16You bet.
51:17Thanks for that.
51:18I really appreciate it.
51:19That was fun.
51:20That was fun.
51:21I wasn't jealous at all.
51:22Not at all.
51:23To make it yours, to own it.
51:26There's opportunity right now for everybody on the card.
51:30We're going to allow you to spread your wings.
51:33And if you hit it right, and that connects with people, we're gonna run with it.
51:40And you always have the opportunity to get yourself to that next level.
51:43The greatest of all time is here.
51:48And the road to WrestleMania begins.
51:52John Cena has been the ultimate good guy in WWE.
51:56And wouldn't it be great if John Cena turned heel?
51:58The hardest thing is keeping secrets.
52:00And just one big attack.
52:03I'll make this my real job.
52:05I gotta quit the rat business.
52:06Oh, my God!
52:08You ate it right on your neck.
52:10Are you okay?
52:11I hate that it just got taken away because I felt like it was just getting started.
52:15But the story is never really over.
52:17When one ends, a whole new one begins.
52:19Isn't that the job?
52:20To make the biggest stars possible?
52:23Hell, yeah.
52:24It's all working.
52:25It pushes on you.
52:30There does get to a level where it is decimal points that separates you and makes you stand out.
52:36That's all I ever wanted to do.
52:38I just did it.
52:39I fucking did it.
52:40Side plane!
52:41Side plane!
52:42Yes!
52:43When you do get yours, you hold on to it.
52:47Because it can go away like that.
53:17And you just need to...
53:19You doot.
53:20I'm not sure.
53:21It's not just that you're going to turn around.
53:22You can do it.
53:23It's impossible for you to run.
53:24You're going to go away like that.
53:25Okay, we're ready to go.
53:27Please, go.
53:28Sometimes it's your game.
53:29You're fun.
53:30We're easy for you.
53:31And you have to eat, get a little.
53:32You can do it.
53:33You can do it.
53:34You can do it.
53:35If you do it.
53:36You can do it.
53:37You can do it.
53:38You can do it.
53:39You can do it.
53:40You can do it.
53:41You can do it.
53:42You can do it.
53:43You can do it.
53:45Because you can do it.
