00:00Two children were killed, and two others critically injured after a barge struck a sailboat off the coast of Miami in the United States on Monday.
00:13The incident occurred near Hibiscus Island at around 11.27 a.m., involving the summer camp sailboat belonging to the Miami Yacht Club.
00:22Tragically, the incident resulted in the same-day deaths of a 7-year-old and a 13-year-old.
00:29Two remained hospitalized in critical condition, and two other individuals were rescued.
00:36Search and rescue operations concluded yesterday, and next-of-kin notifications have been completed.
00:44Through some of our investigative work and some of the interviews we conducted, we do believe all of the girls wore wearing life jackets.
00:53Again, our investigation needs to confirm that, but as of now, we believe the girls wore wearing life jackets.
01:02These barges are very common in the big cities. They work with repairs on the walls, on the sea, on the walls.
01:10These operations are normal in many cities that have bodies.
01:14The captain told us that based on what they have investigated at the moment, the individuals had their own bodies.
01:22A young camp counselor and a fifth child were assessed at the scene, but did not require hospitalization.
01:29They believe the barge was in the area to support local construction projects.
01:33The children were part of a Miami Youth Sailing Foundation camp, and one of the fatal victims was from Argentina.
01:40They were also joined by the project.
01:45Now, the memorial was located at the scene, but they were actually a young man who was left behind the scene.
01:50After a couple of months, the memorials were taken by a poster of the scene.
01:55The inner family was found on the other side of the scene and again, the memorials were protected by a men's vision.
