00:00My mother was a piano teacher and she was the one who started teaching me all the basics in
00:10music and also playing recordings for me. I guess I had an inspiration from that age because of my
00:18mother. I was very lucky because I had my mother at first as a first teacher then Tamara Popovich
00:29she was very famous for working with working with kids with talented kids and giving them a
00:37foundation technical foundation and general understanding of music and after that at the
00:46age of 16 I moved to Kansas City to the United States to study with another compatriot of mine
00:54Stanislav Yudenich who comes also from Tashkent so I've studied with him and he that that was a
01:02different kind of work it was about refining your technique understanding styles and different
01:10composers and the language of music
01:19Being on stage I feel a responsibility because we as musicians performing musicians we are we serve as a
01:31bridge let's say between the composer and the audience right so we are spending many many hours
01:42learning the score and also understanding the score and trying to interpret and transfer the
01:52composer's intentions to the audience of course it's not like you just copy but whatever written and then
02:00play like Robert but you have to put your feelings emotions any audience member who comes to the
02:09concert even if they are not familiar with classical music if they feel something if I could awake some
02:17emotions in them it's a success one of the challenging things is simply is you are never home you have to
02:30travel you have to fly chicken check out and long flights but you get used to it and
02:36changing time zones and
02:38feeling constantly jet lagged
02:42The classical music is something
02:45That will always be with us. It's something that human beings
02:52Came up with something the most beautiful because it doesn't
02:55It doesn't depend on any politics or anything else. It's just pure
03:00It's a very proud moment for humankind. I think not just the nation. So
03:08I always loved music from my experience from as a child. Yes, there were some moments where I didn't want to practice to be honest sure
03:16But I always
03:18I loved music I always tried to be a professional musician play around the world and all this great concert halls
03:28I
03:29Was dreaming let's say about playing at the Paris Philharmonies Sydney Opera House Carnegie Hall in New York City or
03:37Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, so it all came true
03:40As a kid I was always excited you know
03:49Around New Year's time to one of my favorite movies was a home alone
03:56There is a moment in the second
03:59Part home alone to in New York City
04:02She meets this woman and then she takes him
04:05Uh little Kevin she takes him to some concert hall a very beautiful concert hall and then they listen to music to a symphonic orchestra
04:16And I always wondered as a kid. I was wondering what is this concert hall so beautiful so amazing
04:24And
04:25It became a dream one day. I would like to perform on that stage
04:31So I was what 24 years old
04:34And I'm on stage of Carnegie Hall and then it came to my mind
04:40This was the Carnegie Hall
04:43In New York City the most famous concert hall in the world so
04:48That dream while I was seven years old came true
