00:10Excited, a bit nervous, you know, I'm not really used to this kind of setting, but what an honor it is to be here today receiving this award.
00:18Absolutely, so just talk a little bit about your background mate, because obviously UFC isn't it, you know?
00:22Yeah UFC, you know, ball Brampton, you know, born and raised in Wolverhampton, you know, lost my life in Lowell.
00:29Yeah, basically, Wolverhampton born and bred, started working as a scaffold as a young age, then I started, you know, in my early 20s started training and built myself up and got all the way to UFC basically.
00:43With world titles and titles here and titles there and got to UFC.
00:47And straight to Wolverhampton as well, I mean, how much does it mean to get one of these, to obviously get on by the University?
00:54It's crazy because obviously, you know, I left school with no qualifications at all, you know, I never had no clear path, no future didn't really look right to be honest.
01:07So, to actually leave school with nothing, you know, I've got a bit of trouble in school and stuff, so to come here now to the University to get one of the highest degrees is amazing.
01:17Absolutely, man, and when you look over, because obviously in a bit you're going to be giving your speech, quite nervous doing the speech, yeah?
01:22A bit, yeah.
01:23Yeah, yeah, but when you're looking over giving that speech and you see all those faces of academics, you know, a lot of them have been in the same sort of similar situation that you have, you know, come from nothing, come from like, you know, pretty much come from like, you know, poverty backgrounds and everything like that.
01:36I mean, does it, is it encouraging to look at that? It's got to be encouraging to look at that.
01:39It is, it is encouraging, you know, hopefully I can give some sort of inspiration to at least one person, you know, that would be great.
01:45So, yeah, I'm looking forward to giving the speech. Obviously, I'm nervous about it, but, you know, I get, it's, once I've done it, it'll be a great accomplishment to receive the doctorate, so I'm just really excited about it.
