00:00And then you can play the bishop opening, bishop c4, all sorts of gambits, open games.
00:07And of course, then classical Rui Lopez, so this is with bishop b5.
00:12But then, of course, bishop c4, and then heaven's gambit,
00:16which, by the way, I played as the world champion quite successfully,
00:21quite a few times against players as strong as Vichy Adams.
00:25And I would say it's a natural choice for most of the young players.
00:34Because when you're young, you want to play something sharp, something interesting, something exciting.
00:40You are not afraid of sacrificing some material.
00:45But some players are not happy even at early age to do that.
00:49They can play d4.
00:51They can even play c4, which I think is not...
00:55as useful at early stage.
00:57So that's why my first recommendation, stick with e4 or d4.
01:00Just, you know, don't try to sort of enlarge the scope of your investigation.
01:06e4, if you want to be more open, more aggressive, more dynamic, or d4.
01:11And by the way, with this development of modern theory,
01:13even after e4, you can play something quiet and positional.
01:16Like, for instance, you can play after knight f3, knight c6,
01:20you can play bishop c4, d3, c3, so quiet Italian.
01:25Or you can play quite, you know, aggressive openings after d4.
01:28For instance, d4, say knight f6, c4, e6, knight c3, bishop b4.
01:34It's in Nimsu Indian classical, you can play f3, some very sharp moves.
01:38So that's why it's not all being decided by the first move,
01:46what kind of position you want to reach.
01:50But still, as a general rule, e4 is more aggressive.
01:55It opens the game almost immediately.
01:59We, uh...
