00:00After defeating the world number one Russian-born player Fedor Gorst, Filipino Q-artist Carlo Beado made history and named the first Filipino to win the World Pool Championships twice.
00:12The final match ended with a score of 15-13 held last night in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
00:18Before the championship match, the 41-year-old athlete first defeated fellow Filipino Bernie Regalario in the semifinals with a dominant score 11-3.
00:30With his victory, Carlo takes home US$250,000 prize money or equivalent to P14 million.
00:37This is the fifth time that a Filipino has come to the title in the prestigious competition since Efren Bata-Reyes won in 1999, Ronnie Alcano in 2006 and Francisco Django Bustamante in 2010.
00:54Well, I'm so happy because I'm a two-time world champion now and I bring the trophy going to Philippines.
01:03So I'm so happy that a lot of Filipinos watching me and rooting for me.
01:09I'm so happy that I won in the tournament.
