'Tai Chi of the ocean' has become life for David King, 70, and Andrea Parke is 64. Together they run Old'n'Bold Freediving Adventures
Transcript
00:00We're in our 60s, still fit and active, but we decided to start home on bold free diving adventures.
00:19We wanted to show by example that it's possible to continue free diving when you get older.
00:26That you can be even better as you get older.
00:29But we had no real interest in competing as free divers. Our goal is simply to enjoy the ocean.
00:42We've had some amazing adventures.
00:46Free diving the Museum of Bunchwater Rack on the Great Palace of Leaves.
00:51The USAT Liberty Wreck off to Lumban.
00:56The Japanese Shipwreck of Hamid.
00:59The Underwater Sculpture Installation Nest.
01:05And the Sun Can Be Peel off Gilly Mino.
01:09The Majestic Manta Rays of Noosa Panida.
01:14Well sharks have Sally Bay.
01:19Free diving isn't like a lot of other sports where you lose your strength, speed and ability to get older.
01:29Being older when having slower metabolism can actually help with free diving.
01:35I recently turned 70 and learned of a German woman who started free diving at 71 and is now world champion at the age of 80.
01:48Competition is what motivated her and that's fine.
01:52Your stories like these that inspire us and make us want to keep on going.
01:59Every day I was doing was different.
02:03We hope you might be inspired by our example.
02:10I'm already 70.
02:13I've still got a whole free diving cleaner hit of me.
02:17And in my 60s I'm looking forward to getting even more experience.
02:23I'm not gonna be inspired by your girl.
02:24I'm looking forward to getting crispy.
02:25It's just a
02:37people's life.
02:39It's just a people's life.
02:40I'm not going to keep going.
02:42No easy.
02:43That's a people's life.
02:44It's just one time.
