00:00Here we are today at Abbey Road Studios, where you used to record with the Beatles.
00:04Does that bring back fond memories for you?
00:06Yeah, well, I've recorded here quite a lot anyway, even without the Beatles.
00:10But it is, it's like one of the favourite studios.
00:12This is where I made my first record with the Beatles.
00:17Terrified out my mind down there.
00:20Does the media campaign to get the Beatles to reunite annoy you?
00:25Yeah, a bit, you know, but there's nothing you can do about it,
00:28so I don't get really annoyed.
00:30It's just one of those things, you know, when you reach a certain level of fame.
00:37Like with the Beatles, you know, once we split up,
00:38there were just a lot of people offering a lot of money
00:40and saying, well, get back together for me then.
00:43But the trouble is that if you were even going to consider doing something like that,
00:48you'd have to have a really great enthusiasm within the group,
00:51because, you know, you can't just start things just for some money and go and do it.
00:55Not a thing like that, anyway.
00:56So the missing factor is the enthusiasm at the moment, which is fair enough, you know.
01:02I mean, we kind of, we did our bit.
01:04I think the four of us would probably just prefer to, like, leave it as it was
01:10and leave the whole story intact rather than sort of coming back and doing some disastrous reunion show,
01:17you know, like Sinatra's 50th Farewell concert, something like that, you know.
01:23Nothing against Frank Mind.
01:26Of all the things you've ever done, is there anything in particular that you consider your best work?
01:31I don't know.
01:36I don't kind of think in those terms.
01:38I think it's people, like, who analyse the music scene, think in terms of that, what was his best one.
01:45But I don't know.
01:46If I just had to answer it for some quiz or something, I might say Sgt. Pepper.
01:50Or I might say Yes Today.
01:54Or I might just as easily say something daft, like She Said, She Said, which is, like, just a track I like, you know.
02:02Hard question.
02:03Hard question.
