00:41The America's Got Talent judge shared her surgery with fans in April 2024 on Instagram,

00:47praising her now ex, orthopedic surgeon Justin Salomon,

00:51who was caring for Sofia as she recovered at the time,

00:55before the two ultimately went their separate ways in January.

00:58Sofia's also detailed what she learned decades ago from a serious health scare.

01:04She was diagnosed with non-life-threatening thyroid cancer at 28 years old,

01:09but an operation and radiation treatment led to her now cancer-free status.

01:14During a Stand Up to Cancer TV special in 2021,

01:17Sofia shared gratitude for, quote,
