Raj Thackeray meets cousin Uddhav at Matoshree, wishes him on his birthday

A few days after appearing together at a Marathi cultural event, the Thackeray brothers have reunited once again. On the occasion of Uddhav Thackeray’s birthday, MNS chief Raj Thackeray made a significant visit to Matoshree to personally extend his wishes. The visit is being seen as significant, as Raj Thackeray has largely stayed away from Matoshree since parting ways with Shiv Sena.

00:35almost after 20 years to join hands and that too in particular context of Marathi identity in the state.

00:45And now we see yet again both brothers meeting Raj Thakre, meeting his cousin Uddhav Thakre.

00:51Remember, they had also made comments on how Devendra Fatnav is the chief minister is the one

00:56who has ended up doing or rather leading to something which even Baal Thakre himself couldn't do

01:34be joining hands as a political alliance as well?

01:40This is a political moment in Maharashtra's contemporary history.

01:43As we see that Raj Thakre have visited the Matosri after 12-13 years.

01:49Last time he visited when Baal Thakre was not well.

01:52And since then he never ever went to Maharashtra to meet Uddhav Thakre or anybody in his family.

02:03So what we have seen last to last month that on the issue of Marathi-Hindi controversy,

02:11Raj and Uddhav came together, they said that we are coming together to stay together, what Uddhav said exactly.

02:18But Raj was reluctant to say those words and Raj said that this is our family combination and we have come together for the Marathi issue.

02:31But we are not together on political issues.

02:34But right now on the 65th birthday of Uddhav Thakre, Raj Thakre along with his leader, MNS leaders,

02:41he went to Matosri, he is meeting Uddhav Thakre and this is where it is leading.

02:47We are very much aware that Raj Thakre is very aware about the political scenario in Maharashtra

02:54and he is a bit reluctant but he is looking forward to the future alliance also

03:01because as we know that in 2013 Raj Thakre had 29, sorry 2009 Raj Thakre had some 13 MLS with him.

03:10But now Raj Thakre has no any MLA with him, no any corporator with him, no any MP with him.

03:16Right now it is a big question about the existence of Thakre, the brand Thakre which Raj exactly decoded the word.

03:26So it is going towards the future alliance, what analysts are saying in Maharashtra.

03:34But we have to wait for some time till their official confirmation about the political alliance.

03:41But it is very important that Raj and Uddhav are meeting on Matosri on the occasion of Uddhav Thakre's birthday

03:48and this is the ultimate, I can say that this is a historic moment, this is a very important moment in Maharashtra's political history.

03:57Absolutely, an important moment for sure.

04:00But you know, when the first meeting, the political spectacle that we had seen

04:04where both brothers came and hugged each other, joined hands together

04:08at that very event that we had seen take place in Mumbai itself a few weeks ago,

04:15there were several leaders who had come in to comment that if we speak of the BMC polls,

04:20that is not to be taken in a way that yes, this is definitely a political alliance that's coming together

04:26because BMC is quite different from state assembly polls for that matter.

04:29So even if these brothers do join hands for this particular election,

04:34let's not jump the guns with regards to whether this political alliance will be more permanent in nature.

04:42See, this is very tough to answer right now.

04:47But BJP, definitely state BJP leaders want Raj, Thakre and Uddhav Thakre to come together

04:53because it will affect the Eknath-Shinde faction completely

04:57because Eknath-Shinde is completely dependent on the BJP and on the Marathi votes.

05:01When Thakres will come together, then Marathi votes will be diverted to the Thakres

05:05and BJP will have a major vote share of UP, Bihar, Bengal and many other states voters

05:14who are residing in Mumbai.

05:16So this chunk is, most likely 60% chunk is from outsiders.

05:21So that BJP will cater those vote share and Marathi vote share will go to the Thakres also.

05:27So, the Eknath-Shinde will be in a tension.

05:30Right.
