00:00So we're here at the Ironbridge Candle Company and we're with three lovely ladies. Introduce yourselves.
00:06My name's Cheryl. I'm the owner of Ironbridge Candle Company. I'm Glyn. I'm Mia. I do social media.
00:14Very important in business these days. So tell us a little bit about Ironbridge Candle Company.
00:24We're a sustainable home fragrance and cosmetic company. We've been in the gorge for about eight years now.
00:30We're currently based at the Jackfield Tile Museum. We've been here for about four and a half years.
00:38We do anything from candles, re-diffusers, anything home fragrance wise, all made here on site.
00:45So you can actually see it being made.
00:46And I visited you in the early days. Now this has changed quite a bit since I came a few years ago.
00:54It was kind of very much candles but now it's cosmetics. You've got quite a lot of homeware stuff.
01:00Yeah, yeah. We're a brand partner of Nakuku for the home accessories. Esther and Eric for the stunning dinner candles.
01:09And yeah, we do cosmetics now as well. So body washes, bubble baths, perfume, that kind of stuff.
01:16And all refillable.
01:18Well, yeah, we should say, yeah. So we've got the board up on the back there.
01:21Yeah, refillable service. And it really brings the price down then, doesn't it?
01:25It really does. Typically when you refill, everything's half price when you refill.
01:30And as long as the container keeps coming back to us, it's half price.
01:34Yeah, yeah. And you've branched into the world of the workshop. Who's running those?
01:39Yeah, Glyn. We've brought Glyn on board to run the workshops for us.
01:43Cool. What sort of stuff's happening in the workshops, Glyn? What can people get involved in doing?
01:47So we wanted to bring people in to give them the experience of making in the Gorge.
01:51We've started off with the launch of our body wash workshop.
01:55So you can select from 25 fragrances to get your bespoke fragrance, what you like.
02:01And you get to use all of our lab equipment.
02:04So we've specially designed mini lab equipment so you get the full scientific experience
02:08of what goes behind the scenes into cosmetic making.
02:11So can you mix and match different fragrances and come up with your own little blend?
02:15You can't blend them together, but we have 25 to choose from.
02:18So we spend a long time going through because different people like different scents.
02:23Different people will pick up on different notes in the scents.
02:25So they're all made in the perfume houses of Paris.
02:29So we've got middle top of base notes in them.
02:31So you'll be able to really pick up on what you like to be able to smell
02:34and create your own creation to take home with you.
02:36Cool. And you've got a few events coming up as well, haven't you?
02:39Mia, tell us about the kind of thing that people will be able to...
02:41So we've got the scents of the summer coming up.
02:45So we're going to have a little event.
02:46It's free so everyone can come in and have this little sniff
02:49and maybe even get like different scents and stuff like that.
02:53Yeah.
02:54And we have discounts available, won't there?
02:56Possibly a goodie bag to take away with them.
03:00It's free to book.
03:01Yeah.
03:01And if people want to find out a little bit more about those,
03:04how do they kind of keep track of what's going on here?
03:07That's my joke.
03:08Yeah.
03:08Just keep an eye on TikTok.
03:11I'll be posting either little jokey videos or all videos that are themed
03:16on like the products in store and the events that we're going to be doing.
03:19Yeah.
03:19And then also Facebook and Instagram.
03:21I try and keep stories and posts for reminders and stuff like that
03:27for like events and everything.
03:28And what's a popular fragrance that kind of seems to be hitting the right notes
03:32at the minute then?
03:33Always, for seven years running, it's dark honey and tobacco.
03:36Is it?
03:37That just keeps on doing the business.
03:38It doesn't matter what we bring on board, it's dark honey and tobacco.
03:42Oh wow.
03:43Great stuff.
03:43Cool.
03:44As soon as people smell it, I mean, that's why I bought on,
03:47that's why I did the cosmetic range in the first place.
03:49Yeah.
03:50Because I love masculine fragrances.
03:52Yeah.
03:52And I couldn't buy that kind of stuff on the open market.
03:55So yeah, we've developed bar foams and body washes and I love it.
04:03And the customers love it.
04:04Great stuff.
04:05Well, we wish you all the best in future business, ladies.
04:08Thank you very much.
04:08Good luck with those workshops.
04:09Thank you very much.
