‘We used to make our own fun’: what are your favourite toys from back in the day?

Toys have changed plenty over the years, so we’re asking people to reminisce about the toys they used to love. From dolls to footballs, people all had their favourites from back in the day.

00:00Are you football? That's all? Yeah. Football, man.

00:05People thought I would have gone to the grammar school when I was in school,

00:08but I wouldn't go to the grammar school because they didn't play football.

00:12And I deliberately failed it.

00:14I used to really like Sylvanian families, which were like little animals that came with clothes and houses,

00:18and I thought they were really cute.

00:20And Barbie dolls. I really like Barbie dolls.

00:23Yeah, I'd say Barbie dolls and Rats dolls as well, and LOL dolls as well.

00:27Our sister, she's like 10 years older, and she had loads and loads of Rats dolls.

00:32She had big boxes that she used to give to us, so we paired with the old toys,

00:35and we weren't from that long ago.

00:38It's all computers in it. I mean, there was nothing like that.

00:41Of course, then, when I was a teenager, you know, what it all talked like.

00:46But, yes, we used to make our own sort of fun, you know, if you like.

00:52But today, all I can do today, I see if they're on the phones or if they're on the computers.

00:59And I see if they're on the phone, I see if they're on the phone.
