00:00TMZ is reporting wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has died at 71 years old.
00:08Correspondent Jeff Paul is live with more on this, Jeff.
00:12Yeah, Harrison, again, TMZ Sports reporting wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71 years old.
00:19This is coming through just a few minutes ago about the death of this wrestling legend that really transcended the sport,
00:26really put WWF, eventually WWE on the map.
00:32Now, medics were reportedly dispatched to Hulk Hogan's Clearwater home early Thursday morning with operators reportedly stating that he was in cardiac arrest.
00:44TMZ also reporting that a slew of police cars and EMTs were parked outside of Hogan's home.
00:50And the icon, as they put it, was carried on a stretcher and into an ambulance.
00:56Just a few weeks ago, Hogan's wife, according to TMZ, denied rumors that he was in a coma,
01:02stating that his heart was strong as he recovered from some surgeries.
01:06But certainly there have been some rumors about his declining health in recent weeks.
01:11He was born Terry Jean Bolia in Augusta, Georgia.
01:14And, again, it's really hard to put to words what he meant to sports, to celebrity, his signature blonde hair, his ripping of his shirt before a match.
01:26Truly one of the legends of the sports world and of the wrestling world.
01:32And we'll wait to hear more confirmation.
01:34But right now, again, TMZ reporting that Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of 71.
01:41Jeff Paul, thank you for getting us at least a little bit more information about this.
01:46Not just a wrestling legend, but also in entertainment and even as of late, politics.
01:52Let's bring in Lauren Conlon now, entertainment reporter.
01:56And we're watching a Trump rally from last election season.
02:01And also he was at the convention as well.
02:04I mean, he was so beloved.
02:06Lauren, you're with me now.
02:07In the entertainment world, though, this is an earthquake.
02:11Yes.
02:12I mean, Harris, I do not know what is happening this week.
02:15We are losing so many wonderful people.
02:17And one of Hulk Hogan's last tweets in the last few months was, quote, every day I'm reminded that God is good.
02:26Always thankful, H-H.
02:28And, you know, I grew up watching wrestling.
02:31I grew up watching him on his reality show, Hogan Knows Best.
02:35I mean, he is inarguably one of the most important and influential figures in the history of professional wrestling.
02:42I think there was this big, legendary main event against Andre the Giant in WrestleMania.
02:50And it was the biggest crowd they ever had.
02:53There was almost 100,000 fans at the Pontiac Silverdome.
02:57I mean, he was so popular.
02:59This was an event that was talked about for years to come.
03:03He was also a devoted father.
03:05I know that he and his wife, you know, they split.
03:08They had their issues.
03:09But he was, I mean, he was an avid Trump supporter, very vocal, unapologetic.
03:15And, again, he is going to be missed by so many.
03:18So many today.
03:20I remember standing on the floor of the RNC convention last year and people were shouting, he was everyone's friend.
03:28Like, he remembered people's names in the audience.
03:30I mean, it was really, really remarkable the connection that every age group had with Hulk Hogan.
03:37Your last quick thought.
03:38Yeah, you are exactly right.
03:41I mean, he was a television dad to me as well.
03:43He was not just a wrestler.
03:45And so watching him with his children, it was just so wonderful.
