00:00Without objection, the gentlewoman is recognized for one minute.
00:03Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
00:04In Pennsylvania, nearly 65% of nursing home residents rely upon Medicaid.
00:09In my district, outside Philadelphia, it is a lifeline for more than 15,000 seniors
00:14who have worked and earned access to affordable, high-quality care,
00:20who deserve to age with grace and dignity.
00:23President Trump and the Republicans' big, ugly bill will cut Pennsylvania's Medicaid program,
00:28known as PENNY, by about $53 million over the next decade.
00:33What will happen to our parents, to our grandparents?
00:37Some facilities may be forced to make impossible decisions,
00:40like reducing staff or raising prices for those who don't qualify for Medicaid.
00:45Others simply will not survive.
00:48I know how worrisome it is to watch aging parents need to leave the home they loved.
00:53I know how critical it is to find them the best possible care.
00:56I saw it with my own in-laws, Joan and Bill Kanan.
01:00After all, through Medicaid, think about it.
01:03I was disabled, and you offered me aid.
01:06I was infirmed, and you offered me care.
01:09I was aging, and you offered me dignity.
01:11That's what Republicans voted in lockstep to tear away.
01:15Shame.
01:16I yield back.
01:17I yield back.
01:29I'm akraft.
01:30I'm a-
01:34Andy Zertman.
01:37I will not be able for the title to clear the title to your business.
01:39I know it's me.
01:40I'm a real, a light thing.
