00:00as we look at some potential MLB players that could be traded ahead of next Thursday's MLB
00:07trade deadline exactly one week from today Marcelo Zuna is on the list his contract expires at the
00:15end of this season a ton of Orioles on the list as well Baltimore second best price to win the
00:21American League pennant in the preseason same for Atlanta in the National League the second best
00:26number the Orioles have been largely disappointing 44 and 57 13 games sub 500 as we shared swept this
00:34week in Cleveland Ryan O'Hearn and Cedric Mullins both all-stars for the O's they might be dealt with
00:41DRS some names to know at the dish in Arizona a Eugenio Suarez and Josh Naylor big bats that more
00:48than likely are on the move leaving the desert somebody's going to get some help here but also
00:53this is not a buyer's market this is going to be a seller's market which always drives up the price
00:58and what sort of prospect are you going to give away for possibly a rental player if you think
01:02it's going to mean a championship run then maybe you do that but it used to be in the past Ben where
01:06you just had the buyers out here just absolutely pillaging these teams that are looking just to
01:11sell that's not this season you're going to pay a premium to get that player we'll talk more about
01:16the MLB trade deadline one week away next the major league baseball trade deadline exactly one week
01:23away today is Thursday July 24th next Thursday on the final day of the month trade deadline in the
01:30bigs and DRS to your point that you shared right before the break it is not a buyer's market there are
01:36some very notable and outstanding MLB players that could be on the move but really as we have seen in
01:43the expanded postseason in teams at least thinking they have a shot either a few games above or a few
01:49games below 500 to go on a run they might not be selling off assets that they would have just five
01:56six years ago a couple of the big boppers hey Eugenio Suarez Josh Naylor Ryan O'Hearn Cedric Mullins
02:05Marcel Ozuna might they be all on the move Suarez hasn't hit a home run since Monday blasphemy but he had
02:12five home runs in a three game span he's got 36 second most in the National League only behind
02:19Shohei Ohtani he kind of seems to be the top name on the market at least the top name DRS that is
02:26actually going to be traded in the next seven days yeah exactly and he's hitting 252 which you'd like to
02:32see that higher but in today's game that's a really good batting average for the most part 36 home
02:36runs most people the deadline are looking for bats and if you're looking for a bat it's not necessarily
02:41you know what this guy hits 282 with two home runs and 16 RBI and he tries to get on base you want
02:46that bat you want that power bat and particularly at a hot corner position like the third base so many
02:52teams looking for third baseman that can certainly power he's one of those guys Naylor's okay O'Hearn's
02:56okay Mullins is okay Ozuna might help out some teams but you're just looking for that power option and
03:02Eugenio Suarez is the best by far of those options and possibility of like three or four weeks ago like
03:07yeah you go for a decent he's been so on fire it's almost like Arizona's at the deadline going
03:12like we don't just want to give him away now like you're really gonna have to come up with a prospect
03:16to get this guy and it'll be fun to see over the next week if he does continue to stay hot and maybe
03:20it's let you say two more home runs before the trade deadline hits or even gets to 40 before the
03:25deadline hits like man a guy with 40 bombs as you enter into the month of August is on the trade deadline
03:30like what does that work to a team that may be power starved at a certain position like third base
03:35NDRS all the teams you see on that list have either been incredibly disappointing the Orioles and the Braves
03:42who entered the year with the second best prices in their respective leagues to win a pennant who are
03:47both 13 games sub 500 were mildly disappointing the Arizona Diamondbacks in a competitive division
03:53but had a playoff outlook entering this year and the D-backs after the all-star break got back to an even 500
04:00but were swept at home this week by the Houston Astros they entered the week the stakes did winners
04:06of four straight if you're around 500 or even a few games above you're at least in that expanded wild
04:12card race for one of the three spots now Arizona three games sub 500 their ace the last few years Zach
04:20Allen who has not been good this year might also be on the move a 558 ERA with a 7 and 11 record but DRS the
04:28guys that blanket gallon there Sandy Alcantara and Seth Lugo both on the bump yesterday it may be not
04:36only in their final games for their current clubs but with an audition of sorts for others around the bigs
04:42were outstanding the 2022 Cy Young winner in Alcantara that entered yesterday with an ERA above seven
04:49when seven innings yesterday of shutout baseball only allowing four hits as the Marlins won the
04:55rubber match against the San Diego Padres Seth Lugo an all-star last year who has been up and down at
05:02times really good yesterday to record his seventh win of the year in Chicago six innings of work to earn
05:09allowed six strikeouts Lugo now seven and five with a 295 a sub three ERA this season yeah some of those
05:17guys will be able to help like Alcantara getting that great start yesterday which is hilarious
05:22because he's been so bad it's like okay shut him down some team's gonna want him now he's back to
05:25form uh he can win a Cy Young for if you trade him make sure you give me our best prospects here
05:29you take a look at Zach Allen who's been bad this year as well five but hopefully maybe a change of
05:34scenery if he's on the move can certainly help out Lugo's just that veteran guy you're gonna get
05:38number two number three starter to help you down the stretch and then we get to like classes and
05:42Duran the bullpen arms which always there's gonna be a lot more bullpen trades than starting
05:46pitchers and bats combined because that's what teams that are in the race always look for even
05:50if you have a solid bullpen but it's a fun market because again it's still sellers like can you
05:55imagine if like Alcantara had like a 2.95 ERA right now the amount of prospects you would get back but
06:00he's still gonna come with a lot of prospects back because there's not much out there on the market
06:04like hey we're gonna win the World Series we just got Zach Gallon now come on now maybe three years ago
06:09that was a big transaction but doesn't look like it's gonna be this year so once again the buyers out
06:13there looking for some scraps and still paying a premium that's a double-edged sword particularly
06:18if it doesn't end in a world championship like man we gave up a couple more prospects this guy
06:22didn't even help us and he's probably gonna walk let's just say at the end of the season or we'll
06:25just get rid of him or trade him for pennies on the dollar a couple of those arms DRS in the American
06:31League Central our guy Vinny Pasquantino on Lugo yesterday quote I'd like to see him pitch for us
06:36again I'd really like to see him in a Royals jersey in his next start we're trying to make that happen
06:41that's up to us KC 50 and 53 despite winning the midweek set inside the friendly confines
06:47they're out of the American League Central race we believe four and a half back of a wild card spot
06:53the Guardians Manuel Classe and others like Stephen Kwan maybe Jose Ramirez we thought could have been
07:00some trade potential but now they're only eight back of the Guardians there are of the of the Tigers
07:07excuse me they've won four in a row they're only two and a half out of a wild card spot in the
07:12American League Johan Duran the closer for the Minnesota Twins different story disappointing year
07:20for the for the Twins this season but DRS those will be some of the names to note in the next seven
07:26days if they are on the move and to your point even a Royals team right three games below 500
07:33they still believe that if they get hot and go on a run in the next two and a half weeks they're only
07:38four and a half out of a wild card spot which makes it much more of a seller's market than a couple of
07:45teams looking to add that piece to be a bona fide playoff contender and also understand what you're
07:50getting yourself into too like the Minnesota Twins what are the expectations on a year-to-year basis
07:54you know take a look at teams like the Cleveland Guardians in the Central what are the expectations
07:57same thing with the Kansas City Royals like we can't give up class a like in two or three years like
08:02we know closers burn out like Mario Rivera no played long time didn't burn out but for the
08:07most part like it's a flash in the pan two to three great seasons no we're going to hold on
08:11to class a for the Guardians and for what to not get to the playoffs this year or maybe even next year
08:16sometimes you just have to turn that page over in those quote-unquote smaller market teams that
08:21really aren't so small markets like Cleveland at this point that's a team I'd like to watch because
08:25there's a lot of team a lot of relievers and also a lot of players on that team that could fetch
08:28some pretty good returns if they make that move things getting convoluted because Detroit can't
08:33win any games live right here on the early line on sports grid again as we have shared a few times
08:38we had a full slate Monday in Major League Baseball to start the second series post all-star break
08:44the guys were ready the guys were refreshed they were relaxed they're ready to get back to the daily
08:48grind of 162 in MLB but if you have a full slate Monday and everybody is playing a midweek series
08:57from the very jump and those come to a close as we saw all around the league yesterday DRS well then
09:04you're going to have a pretty quiet Thursday in the sport the Guardians and the O's continue their
09:11midweek series that's the only one of our 15 sets in the midweek the Guardians have won all three
09:17they are looking for the sweep today in four games against the Orioles pretty important game today
09:22though in Detroit it's the Tigers and the Blue Jays the Jays of course a four game lead now in the
09:30American League East they take the series in their midweek set against the New York Yankees they've got
09:3560 wins they head to Detroit the Tigers are stuck on 60 now the Jays and the Astros the Astros swept the
09:44D-backs this week as well Houston in action on this Thursday the RS both Toronto and Houston a half
09:51game advantage on the Tigers for the two best records in the American League of course that is
09:57important now as we turn our attention to playoff pictures as they would earn the opening round buys
10:02and that would not be the case in the Motor City the Tigers are a home favorite today after being swept
10:08by the Pirates this week can Detroit who has dropped nine of its last 10 turn things around against a
10:15very good opponent on the other side in Toronto you would hope Reese Olsen though only what 14 innings
10:2114 and a third innings pitched here over the past 60 days you take a look at him a 1.88 ERA which you
10:26love but a high XFIP of 4.40 you look at the lineup for the Toronto Blue Jays it just continues to hit
10:32once again against right-handed pitching over the past month only one guy Ernie Clement does have
10:37a lower standard of ISO and weighted on base percentage the other eight batters all high
10:42weighted on base percentages and this team does not strike out which is always good news for your
10:46offense to put up multiple runs here putting the ball in play even if it's not a base hit Ben what
10:51does it do the chance to get productive quality outs here to move base runners along and get
10:55sacrifice flies to score runs here 91 degree temperatures in Detroit today a window is 11 miles per
11:01hour but more of a right foul pole to left foul pole so it shouldn't be all that bad on affecting
11:05home runs at this point Eric Lauer's on the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays decent pitcher veteran
11:10guy heard his name come around a lot 44 and two-thirds innings pitched over the past 60 days
11:14his ERA been 2.62 but a lower XFIP of 3.57 than what we're seeing here out of Reese Olsen but for me
11:21I look at the lineup Gleyber Torres, Jermai Jones, Rodley Green, Torkelson, Wensiel Perez yeah we still
11:25like it but there's something going on in Detroit right now where they just have to crack the win
11:30column you see the price point they're still favored at a minus 130 price does this feel like a team that you
11:34want to bet and have it as a favorite as opposed to getting plus money Toronto's playing really well
11:39and it's not as if you could even say like well Toronto's got to go all the way out to the west
11:43coast to play a game after playing at home no they're going to Detroit quick flight get off get in there
11:48play some baseball give me the plus money to plus 110 price just on a simple fact is Detroit's a
11:53fade team right now Toronto is not and I'm getting plus money seems pretty simple to me
11:57yeah DRS completely agree the Blue Jays have won 14 of 18 games in July there are two teams since
12:06the start of June that have won 30 games in total around MLB it's the Blue Jays and the Brewers who
12:13beat up on the Mariners yesterday winning 10 to 2 and their series finale out in the northwest we head
12:19to St. Louis under the arch today it's the Cardinals and the Padres really good pitching matchup on paper
12:25DRS at least in the last decade in Major League Baseball Sonny Gray for St. Louis you Darvish for
12:31San Diego the Redbirds a home favorite at minus 142 total stands at eight and a half what do you
12:36like today under the arch uh you know what like today Sonny Gray's on the mound he's actually the
12:41best analytical pitcher on this short card today but sometimes those analytics get a little bit
12:45tripped up in my mind when you say well what Sonny do in his last start was any good he was terrible
12:49in his last start so you are looking for a bounce back and much like we just talked about Detroit
12:53you know that heat wave I guess moving across the country 92 degrees in St. Louis with a light wind
12:58blowing out to left field that should help Sonny Gray yes should be in for a bounce back I don't love
13:03that San Diego lineup either you Darvish on the opposite side limited innings as well 13 and a
13:08third innings pitched 6.08 ERA I don't like either one of these offenses but these two pitchers I think
13:15might be had you see an eight and a half in those heat hot conditions why not get nine runs today
13:20like just go again if you just look at the two pitchers and the names you want to get out there
13:24and say to yourself let me just hit that under no I'm gonna go over I'm playing contrarian in this
13:28game with the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Diego Padres yeah DRS an interesting stat yesterday the
13:35Cardinals were blanked in Denver at Coors Field by the Rockies it was the first time snapping a 220 game
13:43streak the Rockies already blanked an opponent they had shut out a team on the other side first time since
13:51May of 2024 all right back to our five game slate on this Thursday let's around Major League Baseball
13:58DRS the Astros playing a really good ball this week they have won four straight the series finale
14:03against their divisional foes in the Mariners and they swept the Arizona Diamondbacks out in the desert
14:09that was key for Houston who was on an absolute heater since the start of June but leading into
14:15the all-star break and to start their series against the Mariners in their first since the break
14:20had dropped seven of eight they are now back in their winning ways as we shared with Toronto 60 and 42
14:26the Astros and the Jays now tied for the best record in the American League we talked about some
14:32pitchers yesterday DRS maybe making their final outing their final start for their current club
14:37could that be the case for Seve Luis Severino the highest paid athletic in the history of the
14:44organization that has hated his time in Sacramento at least this start is in Houston the Astros a
14:51slight favorite minus 130 on the money line the over-under stands at eight and a half a divisional
14:57duel this weekend in H-Town how does it start it starts there with the roof probably being closed even
15:03though it's 91 degrees Ben we could take a little shot once again at the Houston fan base that if
15:07it's 72 degrees and lower freezing cold 72 or higher you can't go outside only 72 degrees you
15:13get to actually live outside in Houston would love to have 91 degrees open up that ballpark ball
15:17flies out of there because I don't think we have two good pitchers on the mound today and that includes
15:21Luis Severino's last 60 days of 52 and two-thirds innings pitch and how about an ERA of 6.32 and
15:26XFIP of 5.40 you should be getting after it do I love the lineup the way presents itself against a
15:31right-handed pitcher for the Astros not necessarily but I do really like Jose Altuve in the middle of that
15:36lineup at a 318 ISO over his last 75 at bats against right-handed pitchers he should have a legitimate
15:41chance to get an RBI today now the other side Jason Alexander like I never heard of that guy yeah you
15:46have Seinfeld but this isn't the Seinfeld guy out here playing George this is Jason Alexander the
15:51pitcher Ben he ain't very good either that lineup should hit by the way our guy Nick Kurtz boy oh boy we are
15:58ready to hit today how about a 500 ISO and a 563 weighted on base percentage against right-handed
16:05pitching this year if I'm looking at this game I do think the A's hit Jason Alexander I do think
16:11Severino can get hit I don't mind the nine but if we're just trying to individualize some performances
16:16there our guy Kurtz and our guy Altuve two guys that should have legitimate RBI chances today based on
16:22their statistics and I do think we get runs in H-Town DRS when you look at Nick Kurtz the American
16:30League rookie of the year favorite now he is recorded in RBI in six of the last seven for the A's
16:37he has eight total ribbies in that seven game span batting 281 with 19 homers and 50 RBIs this year he in
16:46fact contributed to the only run scored yesterday for the athletics against the Rangers it was an
16:52RBI double the athletics were swept by Texas Donnie told you the Rangers might be a playoff team post
17:00all-star break I said keep an eye on Texas they swept the A's they've won six of seven they're 12 and
17:07six in July the RS they're seven and a half back of their in-state and divisional foe in the Astros but
17:14now just a game and a half back behind the Boston Red Sox for that final AL wild card spot as we keep it
17:22rolling around the American League and the American League West the Mariners have the second of three
17:28wild card spots so far big dumper and the M's will head out to Anaheim for a four game set this weekend
17:36Seattle a road underdog today in Anaheim against the Halos and you say Kikuchi over under is nine you
17:43might be surprised to see Seattle as a dog in Anaheim the Angels have been a pesky side DRS really all season
17:50long but here post all-star break as well and also you have the better pitcher on the mound being
17:54Yusei Kikuchi here take a look at his last 60 days as a pitcher Ben 3.09 ERA 3.44 x fifth number
18:00through 58 in the third innings pitch look at the power numbers going up against him an ISO of 118
18:05over the past 30 days in particular that comes from the right hand side which is an 089
18:11uh ISO power number to those right-handed batters which is great Kyle Raleigh's got good numbers he always
18:15does to regardless it feels like left-handed or right-handed pitchers Randy Rosarani and Mitch
18:19Garver but outside of that they don't hit left-handed pitching all that well and the Angels you're right
18:23about that pesky offense which is Neto Chanuel you take a look at Trout Ward and Adele all of those guys
18:28high weighted on base percentages against right-handed pitching but particularly against Logan Evans he
18:33struggled with the left-handed bats this week this year so if you are taking a look at Chanuel and that
18:38two hole as a lefty he might make a lot of sense for either an extra base hit a base hit and or
18:43run scored or even flirting with an RBI with a legitimate chance to hit a home run here so for
18:48my money I actually look Seattle's the better team but I'll lay the points or excuse me I'll lay the
18:53juice minus 120 I think the Angels get the job done today I do the Angels were swept by the Mets
18:59in the midweek set and I would just say very different travel for these two teams Seattle's
19:04home against the Brewers they lost two of three they got to go on the road but they go to Anaheim just
19:09down the west coast the Angels played yesterday afternoon up in Queens they now got to fly cross
19:14country to start this four game set DRS two playoff teams last year in the AL that have been disappointing
19:20but different levels the Orioles awful 13 games sub 500 the Guardians have won four straight to get
19:27back above 500 51 and 40 we thought these two teams would for sure be big-time sellers at the trade
19:33deadline next week they still might but maybe the Guardians keeping some of those key assets
19:39Cleveland looking for a four game series sweep to end out the midweek set against Baltimore they're
19:44slightly favored to get it done will the Guardians do that in the land today I don't look better
19:49pitcher on the mound is Baltimore or is not Charlie Morton is probably going to be up at the trade deadline
19:53to be moved as well for himself 47 and two-thirds innings pitched over his last 60 days manageable ERA
19:58of 3.78 and an X-Rip of 3.73 you take a look at Logan Allen his ERA is higher it's in the forest and
20:04his X-Rip is higher also in the forest today maybe a decent look here at the veteran pitcher Charlie
20:09Morton coming away with a victory don't love this game but you know what I do love there how about
20:1389 degrees and a wind blowing out the right field in Cleveland man oh that little rust belt that rust
20:18belt's getting torched today we're getting that heat here on the east coast starting tomorrow into
20:23Saturday as well it's hot once again in the summer Tom Vecchio George is next live right
20:30here on this Thursday on the early line on sports grid it is time for the prop perspective albeit in
20:35only a five game MLB slate on this Thursday with TV Tom Vecchio of sports grid the two hosts of pro
20:43baseball today each and every Sunday morning I think each and every Sunday at 10 a.m. Eastern right
20:49I know we've had scheduling mishaps the last few weeks but it's always 10 finish it just sometimes
20:54might go to noon or sometime get a little bit like go to four at 11. same might go to four sometimes
21:02you know don't know 4 p.m. you want to do a six-hour show DRS heck yeah man all about I need it glad to
21:08have you here on this Thursday my man to break down the baseball slate and talking a ton of things here
21:14as training camp now underway in the national football league for all 32 clubs
21:19yeah we got some baseball today we got the trade deadline coming up we have training camp underway
21:23as you said we have injuries occurring in training camp which certainly changes things
21:28I say we just get rolling all right let's get rolling right to it Vecchio we'll start
21:35with the MLB slate we'll get to some football after that so as we look at our five game slate today
21:41the Houston Astros pulling off a sweep this week out in the desert against Arizona Houston building up the
21:47lead in the American League West they got to 60 wins they're 60 and 42 tied for the best record
21:53now in the AL alongside the Toronto Blue Jays you mentioned the trade deadline next week in baseball
21:58exactly one week from today could this be the final start pretty certainly Severino in an athletics
22:05uniform has not enjoyed his year in Sacramento with this A's organization to say the least Houston a
22:11small home favorite today Tom to start off this four game extended weekend set against its divisional
22:17foe what do you like at H-Town well first off I gotta say that this line feels a little bit light to me
22:23you know Donnie I want to know what your thoughts on after this but like it feels like a little light
22:27like Jason Alexander is I understand he's not the best pitcher but Severino has really really struggled
22:32this season and you know Ben as you alluded to like he is scheduled for a start on Tuesday but this
22:37could be his last start because his name has been brought up in trade conversations
22:42so I like him to not go deep into the game he's also not striking out a ton of hitters this year so
22:46let's go to under four and a half strikeouts at plus 104 here's a career low 15.9 strikeout rate
22:52this season and when we look to Houston they're 20th or 21st in the league when it comes to strike
22:56rate versus right it's like they're disciplined at the plate they've always been so the line feels a
23:00little bit light it's minus 130 now in the money line like they are by far the better team I understand
23:05it's not some dominant pitcher on the mound but the Astros at minus 130 I like it yeah it's an
23:12interesting line because you are looking at one team that's not used to winning and that's the A's
23:16I went a different route in that game Tom I just went some RBI props Jose Altuve I think matches up
23:19very well today against Severino on the opposite side Kurtz has been absolutely on fire just taking
23:24a flyer that one of those guys at plus money can bring me in the door as opposed to trying to say
23:28who's going to be the better pitcher in this game because I don't have much information
23:31on Alexander as it is another game a team I got last night just needed them to get two and a half
23:35runs or over they got me three right by the skin of my teeth there that was the guardians they're
23:39going to take on Baltimore again today and the question is going to be is Charlie Morton how many
23:43more starts is he going to make for the Baltimore Orioles if he's on the move but just an interesting
23:47day with some nice weather conditions Tom in Cleveland 90 degrees with a double-digit wind
23:52blowing up the right field what can we take a look at between Baltimore Cleveland well first off they got
23:57the third run because of Stephen Kwan had the single in the eighth inning and if I remember
24:01months ago you had a Stephen Kwan HRR that cashed in extra innings because he started at second base
24:09so shout out to Stephen Kwan whose name has come up in trade discussions but I just like runs in this
24:13game like you said it is beautiful there it is great hitting with the rear not dealing with dominant
24:18pitchers on either side Charlie Morton his name again uh has come up in trade discussions he could get
24:23pulled early and even if he pitches well and then the goal they pull him early because he may be
24:27traded like give me the Baltimore uh bullpen to give it the runs I understand the the guardians
24:32offense is not amazing but I just it's a flat nine I like the over nice it's really interesting this
24:38Cleveland team they won four straight but back you know entering the final week before the all-star
24:43break they had to head to Houston they were on a 10 game losing skid the Astros were playing out of
24:48their minds since the beginning of June Cleveland swept the Astros they won 11 of 13 and now they're
24:54only eight games back of the Detroit Tigers in the American League Central in a game above 500 maybe the
25:01guardians trying to hunt down a playoff spot once again which factors into a couple of those guys
25:06Emmanuel Class A maybe Jose Ramirez Stephen Kwan who were thought of as potential trade assets in the
25:13final week leading up to the trade deadline here are some others thank you as we look at the big
25:18boppers first offensively Eugenio Suarez 36 homers this year Josh Naylor in Arizona as well Ryan O'Hearn
25:25Cedric Mullins all-stars for the Orioles Marcelo Zuna the DH for the Atlanta Braves of these guys we'll get
25:32to the pitchers after of these guys with their back who do you think is the most sought after commodity
25:38leading to the trade deadline next week it's got to be Suarez right now just because a he's been on fire and
25:44you know positionally he's a spot that a lot of teams need I don't mind those like I think Ozuna
25:49will be sought after but if he's only going to be DH that does present a big issue for some teams and
25:53he does have playoff success like proven play of success when they won so I know teams will want that
25:58the one note I'll make about some of these players you know we could mention the Orioles just because
26:01I talked about them I don't think it'll happen now but we will be seeing watered down lineups
26:05I would say on Tuesday Wednesday really of next week I don't think it'll affect the Orioles or
26:09the Diamondbacks today or over the weekend but as we get to Tuesday Wednesday Thursday of next week
26:13that's where we could see some teams hitting unders just because they're not dealing with their
26:17full roster essentially big moves on the horizon and again this is a true seller's market you're
26:23gonna get a lot of bang for your buck on players that might not be all that great here and we talk
26:27about the pitching prospects here at the deadline Sandy Alcantara before the season or last two years
26:32like man he's available to deadline we got to get that guy not so much this year even though
26:35he had a fantastic start yesterday along with Zach Gallen Seth Lugo Classe and a couple other
26:40relievers we know the relievers are going to change hands from bad teams to good teams it happens every
26:45year at the deadline but Alcantara, Zach Gallen, Seth Lugo they can provide some depth to some teams but
26:50is it lightning in a bottle with Alcantara are you getting him at his best because he finally had a good start
26:56I would say yes and it depends on which team gets him like I think he makes a
27:01a lot of sense for the Cubs or the Tigers I know he's not connected to the Tigers I know he's been
27:07connected to the Cubs but getting him at a decent price in prime form and essentially what could be
27:12a good pitcher spark especially gets the cooler weather and rightly I think that could be a real
27:17real benefit for the Cubs if they pick him up yeah it is really interesting looking at those starting
27:23arms very notable names Seth Lugo having the best year of these three starters the only guy
27:29with a sub three ERA in fact the only guy with a sub five and a half ERA of Sandy Alcantara and Zach
27:36Gallen DRS enjoy Moneyline my friend we will miss you I will I hope you have a great Thursday
27:42not gonna miss you talk tomorrow Vecchio and I will talk more on the early line next
27:47TV Tom Vecchio is still here for a second consecutive segment where they focus
27:52focus on the futures both in Major League Baseball and in the NFL at the start of training camp
27:59Vecchio one week away from the trade deadline in Major League Baseball one week away from our first
28:04football game of the year the Hall of Fame game in Canton Ohio feels like a good time to reset the
28:10futures market as we look at the World Series odds the Dodgers haven't played great baseball they did win
28:15the week against the Minnesota Twins but they still dropped 11 of their last 15 no longer the best
28:21record in the NL the Tigers no longer have the best record in baseball nor the American League they've
28:27moved back tied for the second best number alongside the Yankees Phillies there at plus 950 the Astros and
28:33the Mets both at a 10 to 1 price we expect basically every team on this list especially the heavy hitters
28:40up front to be buyers ahead of the trade deadline so of those numbers is there a price you want to
28:47get in on right now before next week's trade deadline of the bigs so I already mentioned the Cubs a little
28:52while ago I still like the Cubs the Brewers I still think are are okay and they're okay in terms of like
28:59if you have their price from before when they were 25 32 on whatever it was after they went on you know
29:03before I should say they went on this long winter that's great to have but the Brewers are a team that I
29:08think are shaping up to be really interesting in terms of maybe an NLCS future just based on their
29:15pitching staff you got Woodruff back Freddy Peralta's having a great year especially when he's at home
29:19and obviously Miz is awesome so that frontline pitching staff can go head to head with basically
29:25anyone and yes the number isn't as good as it once was as I was alluding to you know two three weeks
29:29ago whatever it might be but 16 to 1 is still a pretty darn good price and man a Brewers uh Dodgers
29:36direct outcome the NLCS would be an interesting ticket to have
29:39you
