An enforcement officer has been detained at KL International Airport Terminal 1 for suspected involvement in a "counter setting" operation.

The officer was arrested around 9.20 a.m. on Thursday (July 24) following surveillance by the Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), which detected suspicious behaviour via CCTV footage at the immigration checkpoint.

00:24Police seized over 8,000 ringgit in cash, three communication devices, and handwritten
00:29notes containing partial passport numbers believed to be linked to unauthorized entry
00:34and exit activities.
00:37Initial investigations suggest the officer may have facilitated illegal passages by tracking
00:42the last four digits of various passport numbers.
00:46The suspect was first handed over to the AKPS-KLIA Integrity Unit for internal review, before
00:54being referred to the Selangor branch of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for further
00:59action.
01:00AKPS said it takes any breach of integrity seriously, especially at national entry points, and will
01:07act firmly against personnel involved in misconduct.
