01:26How many hits would you have to write to be able to afford this place?
01:28One. About two.
01:30One and a half. One and a half.
01:32One and a half.
01:33I can't wait for everybody else to get here. This is crazy.
01:35Where are they? Where are the people?
01:37Jenna and Steven got in a car accident.
01:39Jenna and Steven were in a car accident.
01:41Are they okay?
01:42I have no idea.
01:43No, they said they were okay.
01:45Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:46Seven had, like, a passport thing, right?
01:48She lost her passport. Or she couldn't find it.
01:51That's what I heard.
01:52That sound well right.
01:55And then where's Nova?
01:56I think they're coming in tomorrow, right?
01:57I think they was on a different flight.
01:59Yeah.
02:00Wait, and then for Ross.
02:01Yeah, for Ross isn't coming.
02:03He's not coming?
02:04No, I'm bummed.
02:05We came in kind of after y'all had already bonded, and so I think that was just hard.
02:10For sure. I felt that.
02:11Well, I can't wait for everybody else to get here.
02:18Oh, my God, it says...
02:19Three.
02:20Okay.
02:21It says, welcome to Los Cabos.
02:22Your villa is complete with your personal chef, butler, and staff for your stay.
02:28Kick back, relax, and enjoy the sun and sand.
02:32Wow.
02:37I just want to say, like, this week is going to be amazing.
02:39And I feel like we're really going to write the biggest smash that we can possibly fucking make.
02:44Yeah.
02:45You feel me?
02:46So you know the chairs.
02:47Yes.
02:48Always up.
02:49Always up.
02:50Never down.
02:51Never down.
02:52Spread the money all around.
02:53Oh, it's dinner time.
02:54How y'all feeling?
02:55Can you give me some of that tequila?
02:56Not a shot, though.
02:57On the rock.
02:58Oh, boy.
02:59There he is.
03:00The biggest.
03:01Yes, sir.
03:02How you feeling?
03:03You get some rest?
03:04Oh, I took a little nap.
03:05I'm feeling a little recharge.
03:06A little re-up.
03:07Where everybody at?
03:08Tommy, you know we left Nashville, right?
03:09Come on, man.
03:10Nashville, come where I go.
03:11Look at it.
03:12Man, you look like your day stood you up.
03:13It's sad.
03:14Where are we supposed to sit?
03:15Harf took it to me.
03:16Oh, it's dinner time.
03:17Oh, it's dinner time.
03:18Oh, it's dinner time.
03:19How y'all feeling?
03:20How y'all feeling?
03:21Can you give me some of that tequila?
03:22Not a shot, though.
03:23On the rock.
03:24Oh, there he is.
03:25The biggest.
03:26Yes, sir.
03:27How you feeling?
03:28You get some rest?
03:29Oh, I took a little nap.
03:30I'm feeling a little recharge.
03:31A little re-up.
03:32Where everybody at?
03:33Tommy, you know we left Nashville, right?
03:34You look like your day stood you up.
03:35It's sad.
03:36Where are we supposed to sit?
03:37Harf took the middle seat.
03:38He's a middle seat guy.
03:39It takes a certain kind of person to be a middle seat.
03:42I don't want that kind of pressure.
03:43You know, right before I wrote the peace treaty, you know?
03:45Yeah.
03:46It was me, you know, Barron.
03:49LeBron was there.
03:50You guys talking about my birthday party?
03:52Exactly.
03:55Oh, great.
03:56Is this everybody?
03:58Yeah, for tonight.
03:59You gotta hold it down for the ladies.
04:00You're by yourself right now.
04:02Oh, my God.
04:03I know.
04:04The firing squad.
04:05Uh-oh.
04:06How hard is it, like, being in the music industry and as a woman trying to find love?
04:11Ooh.
04:12My life involves, like, so much novelty and travel, and I love that.
04:16But it just sometimes feel like what's good for my career hasn't been good for my personal life.
04:21What do you want, though?
04:22Honestly, it's a math problem.
04:25I do not know.
04:26You got X's and Y's in it, don't you?
04:28Yeah.
04:29X's and Y's.
04:30Is that another song?
04:31Mm-hmm.
04:32I mean, it's a bummer.
04:33X's and Y's.
04:34Um, my boyfriend and I ended up ending our relationship actually in the middle of the Nashville sessions.
04:41Hold on.
04:42You went through a breakup during the session?
04:44We probably wouldn't be in this situation if we lived in the same city, but it's just, like, me being in Berlin writing songs, me being in Miami writing songs.
04:54Like, how do you become a mother doing that?
04:58Wow.
04:59And where does your husband live?
05:00Like, my ex, he lived in, uh, North Carolina.
05:03I'll make North Carolina, Nashville, and L.A. work.
05:06Like, I'll put another city on the grid for love.
05:09You want to make it work so you will sacrifice yourself to make it work.
05:13And that's why this breakup was really tough.
05:17I still feel like I'm trying to handle this and accept it in a lot of ways.
05:21It still feels really fresh, but I feel really fortunate that I have work in front of me to do.
05:28I would much rather be here in Cabo than alone with my thoughts at home.
05:33I'm getting in the hot tub.
05:34You're hot tubbing?
05:35Yeah.
05:36Oh, damn.
05:37Nobody's there.
05:38No one's at the bar.
05:39It don't matter.
05:40We go get our own bottle.
05:41Y'all want me to bartend?
05:43What y'all want?
05:44What's the Tommy special?
05:45Hold on.
05:46Let me get busy.
05:47Okay.
05:48Let me do these.
05:49Let him cook.
05:50Oh, shit.
05:51Let me cook.
05:52I went to bartending school.
05:53There's a little fun fact about me.
05:54What?
05:55Yep.
05:56That's it.
05:57Oh, nobody saw it.
05:58Nobody saw it.
05:59It does look nice.
06:00It looks really nice.
06:01I...
06:02Try that.
06:03Well, obviously, I wasn't there for Bahamas.
06:05I know there was a lot of stuff that I wasn't there for, so...
06:08Bro, it was a whole night.
06:10It goes right in.
06:11I mean...
06:12Like...
06:13Oh, the last night.
06:14The last night.
06:15It was a whole night, bro.
06:16We were at the pool.
06:17Yeah, I mean, and Steven had a lot to say about how he felt that you didn't deliver on a platform.
06:25He just didn't feel great about how it kind of spilled into an emotion.
06:32I'm sorry.
06:33I just need a minute.
06:34Okay.
06:35He was just like, yo, like, if I didn't deliver, everybody would have gave me way more shit.
06:45That was the night he was supposed to call.
06:46He was gonna wake you up.
06:47You know what?
06:48Just wake him up.
06:50And I was like, you gonna wake Trey up when you want to.
06:55Okay.
06:56That's interesting.
06:57I wish we could have, like, maybe had that conversation all together or maybe...
07:02We didn't want to wake you up.
07:03Yeah, yeah, yeah.
07:04But, like, this could have happened either next day.
07:06Like, it was all under a night of, like, we're drinking. It was, like, our last night.
07:09Right.
07:10It sounds like a drunk comment, to be honest.
07:11Yeah.
07:12Like, I would...
07:13I would personally let that...
07:14Dare I say a slightly insecure comment as well?
07:16Because I wouldn't...
07:17I wouldn't say that shit about...
07:19We've all...
07:20We all have off days.
07:21Every single one of us here has off days.
07:25I just think it's interesting that you have, like, a lot to say when someone's not there.
07:29I have taken the brunt of that session.
07:32And it upsets me a little bit that, like, people are saying that, like, I didn't deliver.
07:38Like, I actually did go and deliver.
07:40I just needed to take a minute outside.
07:42And then I came back into our room and helped out.
07:46So, to then just say that I didn't deliver is honestly really hurtful.
07:51Everybody knows your character and knows how fucking amazing you are and knows what a heart you have and your talent.
07:57And, like, you know, that goes without saying.
08:00Totally.
08:02Are we gonna hit this beach or what?
08:03Beach?
08:04What are we thinking?
08:05Everybody refresh your drinks and let's go.
08:07Right here.
08:08To the beach.
08:09Steven is just unfiltered.
08:11And there are people that are gonna not like you.
08:13And, of course, they're gonna be gunning for your downfall.
08:16That's expected.
08:17It doesn't hurt.
08:18But it really hurts when it comes from someone that you actually care about and you respect.
08:22Come on.
08:23I am taking my shoes off.
08:24You need help?
08:25You good?
08:26No, I got it.
08:30Where are you going?
08:31No, I just need a second.
08:33Okay.
08:34You're sweet little families in shambles.
08:47When the walls fall down.
08:51When the walls fall down.
08:56Morning.
08:57Morning.
08:58Morning.
08:59Morning.
09:00You're so romantic right now.
09:15It's the romance.
09:17We're in Mexico.
09:18Some would say I'm the most romantic.
09:20Well, we'll see about that.
09:21Well, if there isn't a goddamn person.
09:22Where's the energy at?
09:23Are you tired?
09:24Yeah.
09:25Hearing that Steven said what he said, it's made me rethink my friendship with Steven.
09:39So, I'm really hoping at least the first day or at least until we're able to have a conversation
09:44that I'm not paired with him.
09:46What's up, buddy?
09:47Benji.
09:48Dude, I'm sorry about the freaking record.
09:49Oh, no.
09:50It was crazy.
09:51It was just a little side swipe.
09:52Woke me up.
09:53Oh, my God.
09:54Are those my people?
09:55Woo!
09:56Woo!
09:57Woo!
09:58Woo!
09:59Woo!
10:00Hey!
10:01Yay!
10:02Hey, how are you doing?
10:03How are you doing?
10:04Hi, guys.
10:05Welcome.
10:06How are you doing?
10:07We're a day late.
10:08Everybody's gotten started already.
10:09So, we've got to play catch up.
10:10But the team is writing for Usher.
10:13Beat Usher Raymond this trip.
10:20Usher has so many hits.
10:22The challenge is finding something new that's going to invigorate his energy because, obviously,
10:27he can do anything.
10:28Mm-hmm.
10:29And if we find the right niche, the right tempo, the right melody, for him to really, really
10:35be inspired, I think that's the biggest key.
10:38Let's just have fun.
10:39It's Usher.
10:40Yeah, we just having fun.
10:41Usher, you can't lose with Usher.
10:43You know what I'm saying?
10:44We've lived off of what he's given us for this long.
10:47It's like, where do we want to push him to next?
10:49And that is so exciting to me.
10:51I fucking love Usher.
10:52Like, who doesn't love Usher?
10:54He's like, you know, he's the voice of, like, my childhood and my adulthood, truth be told.
10:58And he's on my bucket list.
11:00You know, I have probably, like, a top three on my bucket list.
11:02And it's him, Beyonce, and Rihanna.
11:05So I don't want to put too much pressure on it.
11:07But it's just imperative that we write a hit record for him.
11:09It's imperative that I write a hit record for Usher.
11:11What's going on, guys?
11:12L.A.
11:13Hey.
11:14Hey.
11:15Hey.
11:16What's up?
11:17Oh, my God.
11:18Look at this.
11:19Hi, Jenna.
11:20Hi.
11:21Love you.
11:22L.A. Reid gave me my first shot.
11:23He is one of the biggest music moguls of the last three generations.
11:30And he has taught me everything I know.
11:32I see you, Tommy Brown.
11:33What's poppin'?
11:34Wow, we got a room full of geniuses.
11:37This is incredible.
11:38So, as we all know, Usher is a remarkable entertainer.
11:43And the thing I've spoken to him about lately is how to have real fun and dance and make people dance,
11:50but not sound like it came from the 70s, not like it came from the 80s, but something that's new in the dance world.
11:58When we, you know, we get them shoulders up, that's when you know we got that tempo, you know what I'm saying?
12:02Arr!
12:03Yeah.
12:05If it just so happens that you come up with that incredible ballad, like, we're not rejecting it, just to be clear.
12:11All right, all right.
12:12A hit is a hit, right? We'll give you a hit.
12:14A hit is a hit.
12:15Yes, sir.
12:23Hola.
12:28Jenny.
12:29Jenny, nice to meet you.
12:30Hi.
12:31Don't write a better song than us.
12:34Hi.
12:35How's it going?
12:36What's up?
12:37Jay.
12:39What's up, bro?
12:40Oh, it's cool.
12:41Steven, nice to meet you, bro.
12:44First of all, can I just say, I'm really happy to be in the room with all you guys.
12:48Me too.
12:49I'm very happy.
12:50We're gonna kill it.
12:51I wrote a song for Usher on his last record. The challenge in writing for Usher is doing something that hasn't already been done.
13:00The exciting part is that you can use every tool in the toolbox. He's a true superstar. Like, they don't really make him like that anymore.
13:08Okay.
13:09What you been waiting on?
13:11Here he is.
13:12Stop.
13:13Get it.
13:14Uh.
13:15Uh.
13:16Uh.
13:17Yeah.
13:18Yeah.
13:19Yeah.
13:20Yeah.
13:21Yeah.
13:22Yeah.
13:23Today, I'm writing with Nova Wave and Trey. And I'm super excited because this is my first time writing with Nova Wave this whole camp.
13:29And I know Trey. Like, Trey got this look in his eye. Like, he's this redemption time for Trey. So, I already know this session's gonna be crazy.
13:36Yeah.
13:38Tommy, where are you?
13:40Taking your sweet time.
13:42Just trying to figure out what Usher needs to sing. We need you to lead us.
13:44Come on.
13:45You know what? I'm multi-genre, okay?
13:48If there's any hope for this session, it's gonna be that Tommy's in it. We had a great write in Bahamas for John Legend, and I'm hoping that he can really pull a lot of the weight in this session.
13:56Because he has a great background in this type of music, and he's great at directing the room and all that stuff.
14:01What vibes are we on?
14:03Here's the thing, Tommy. This is not my wheelhouse. I'm gonna say whatever, but I'm gonna defer to y'all, because y'all have more experience in this space, you know?
14:11Right.
14:12This is a scenario where I just don't know how to write this song. And that's the first time I felt like that.
14:17I was thinking, like, the word confirmation. Like, let me be your confirmation. Like, if you're feeling yourself, you feel sexy.
14:22Love that. That's fire.
14:23Love that. That's fire.
14:24I'll be your confirmation. Like, I'll make you feel good.
14:26Yeah.
14:27L.A. was talking.
14:29Yep.
14:30And the word unanimous came into my mind.
14:33That time.
14:34Like, you and me, it's unanimous. It's like, in a sexual way, the way, like, she feels about me and the way I feel about her or whatever, it's unanimous.
14:44Uh-huh. Yeah. Unanimous.
14:47Do you think you know that he's pronouncing unanimous wrong, though?
14:50I think he's pronouncing it right in his brain.
14:53Yes.
14:54What is he saying? I can't even do it that way.
14:56Unanimous.
14:57Unanimous.
14:58Unanimous.
14:59What is it?
15:00Unanimous.
15:01That's the new way to say it.
15:02Yes.
15:03That's it.
15:04We're switching it.
15:05What kind of space y'all feel like for Usher?
15:06Okay, listen. I think we knocked out two things today.
15:08We're gonna do a skate song.
15:09But we didn't see it first.
15:10I have a different opinion.
15:12Don't kill me.
15:13I think we gotta take our energy and our beginning energy and, like, put our reins together and dive into how we can push them forward.
15:20I think Seven's in a room with three primarily pop writers, and she does a lot of R&B, so she probably feels inspired to come in and lead.
15:27The energy's a little different than it typically is in the room, so I think we just gotta lock in.
15:32Gotta lock in.
15:33So I had a couple ideas, concept-wise.
15:34Okay, okay.
15:35So I had one, like, working my appetite.
15:36Okay.
15:37And another one, like, swimwear.
15:38Like, you're like my swimwear.
15:39Like, it's like, I feel like that could be, like, kinda cool.
15:41I think swimwear, uh, I don't really like how that sounds so much.
15:45I don't wanna be like, hey, yo, put on that swimwear.
15:46For Usher, we can't have people guessing what something means.
15:47If it's not something that catches us right away, throw it out.
15:48Definitely gotta be something that feels a little left field.
15:49Like, a little left foot, like a little-
15:50And so where we are right now, this doesn't feel left field, if we're being honest.
15:54Right?
15:55Because of the fabric of my list, you could feel like it's not a little left field.
15:57So the feeling is really that a lot of rhythm, you could just like, oh, this is a little
15:59right here.
16:01Okay.
16:02And I just didn't say something that's like, oh, that's not a real suit.
16:03No, I don't do it.
16:04Oh, like that's okay.
16:05It's a real suit.
16:06You know, I don't do it.
16:07That's not a real suit but I can't do it all.
16:08You know, I can do it all this.
16:09You know.
16:10What you're feeling is going to be.
16:11It's not ingest.
16:12little and so where we are right now this doesn't feel that if we're being honest right
16:20you know i like doing that dress yeah are you the best yes would i ever let you go no i can
16:31oh that's cool drop that drop that low low low location drop that low low low location
16:37that's fire drop that low low it's just disjointed lyrically but i like it i mean it's just what
16:41people say drop that low
16:51i love trace melodies he has these ideas and then you just can kind of just add on top of it and so
17:11i'm excited we're making songs for the lovers listen turn them lights down low i need all them lights
17:26what if we do the verse beginning and make it something that we repeat as a hook
17:30when we're laying melodies or we're trying to just kind of fish for melodies it's it's a very sensitive
17:47process for a lot of creators and for me in particular you know we're all operating in our
17:53superpowers and i think that it's important to give each other space when we're doing that because we
17:58gotta get this record written and we cannot fail okay so how we feeling what y'all feeling like it
18:03don't love it okay there's something about this that feels a little dated yeah i agree nothing's
18:10feeling like new you know when you're holding magic and i just don't think that we stumbled upon
18:15that idea do you think we just like hit the hook and then do another hook or something yeah
18:20why y'all ready to score should i sneak and see what everybody else doing
18:23huh you gotta come back we uh we need you you know what i'm saying 10 minutes yeah that's fine
18:32we just can't do this without you all right i'll be back all right
18:38tommy leaves the room and i'm just like come on this is you're the guy you need to be the guy this
18:44session and now we don't have the guy i'm also feeling like maybe he just gave up on us just feeling
18:51frustrated that like i feel like i'm spinning my wheels that's a good way to put it i just feel
18:54like i'm trying really hard but i'm not getting anywhere now is the bass a little complicated yeah
19:00yeah i'm not happy with it you know what helped a producer
19:05i don't want to be comfortable with being comfortable with you do you know what i'm saying
19:10seven because it's i don't want to be comfortable with being comfortable with you that makes no sense
19:14how i don't want to be good with it's confusing
19:21i'm not vibing with jenna's ideas today there's just a specific thing that we're just trying to
19:26dial in on and that's all we have time for just one comfortable sis not 15 comfortables we just need
19:32one comfortable so we can all be comfortable and write this song comfortably you feel me it's either
19:38i want to get comfortable or i feel like this relatable thing is when you're a relationship for a
19:43long time you don't want to be too complacent yeah you don't want to get bored you don't want it to
19:46get you don't want it to get like like i like that yeah like i just want to be coming with you yeah
19:51like put myself aside maybe it's a space hi tom yeah yeah i hate when i walk in no we don't
20:00come on wake up i think we should go top let's go
20:04this slide we're going to the beach am i scared listen water's undefeated we're not going to the
20:16water do you want to stay here yeah so hear me out so we want to talk to you about the other day
20:21when you um cut jen off kind of rubbed me the wrong way and i was just like dang i honestly like
20:26i'm such an energy person so it's just like but okay next time oh my god am i that boring
20:35like yo bro don't do that to her right like don't do that right right i think you guys saw something
20:40that was misconstrued as something trying to be disrespectful but like we're at the table and my
20:46girl's a little drunker than she typically likes to be perceived as she's talking she's doing her thing
20:52and i'm sitting here and i'm like i can't really tap her because i'm being seen and i can't really
20:58say something because i'm being seen so the only thing i can do in that moment is just be like
21:05next song i i mean i feel you a thousand percent bro but you can't talk to your girl like that
21:12no no well i didn't all i did okay but what could i do in that situation you might got to pull her to
21:18the side bro you might got to be like you might got to be like yo you got a minute let me holla
21:23at you for a second we need a minute real quick like i just think us as like men and being producers
21:30it's like we have to be mindful of like not undermining our female counterparts i i tell her
21:37all the time how incredible she is how powerful she is so she knows where my heart's at right the
21:41reality situation is like i don't give a what nobody thinks about me except for her i'm just at the
21:48place bro where like music is and the industry is and what's going on in music with people that we
21:54you know idolize it's time for like people to really hold people accountable and it can't be
22:01other men letting other men be wrong we have to do the right thing bro we have to make right of all
22:06these wrongs that we all all experienced in the music industry right i'm not saying that i don't feel
22:12like i'm somewhat to blame i should have been more cognizant of like the situation and what was at stake
22:17relief but as far as like harv and tommy thinking it was disrespectful it's not their business i
22:22appreciate you pointing it out no worries brother you know what i'm saying appreciate you your song's
22:27fire your song's trash y'all get back to work i'll see y'all at the listening party yeah all right
22:32right
22:43so are we abandoning comfortable no no not at all i ain't trying to be comfortable with you i'd rather
22:48be terrified of what i got to lose does this feel like a hit to you guys you're saying if usher drops
22:53this in 2025 is this what you're looking for i'm gonna say this and you're not gonna like this
22:59but that starts with the production so i'm gonna be honest we're riding it according to our foundation
23:07if you wanted to be forward we got to push the production forward
23:10because i am the r&b girl i'm the r&b artist i feel like i do bear a responsibility to kind of help
23:18guide the ship but because i'm not a producer per se there's only so far i can leave the room and i
23:27don't like to leave a session and and not feel like we got one i will be honest i'm i'm a little
23:35frustrated this doesn't really feel like a real writing day yeah it feels like something else
23:40we got 30 minutes should we fuck with that second verse on the other one then but the other one is
23:48even more we've heard usher do i'll be honest my point is i feel like we need something to play
23:53and we got 30 minutes i don't give a fuck about nothing to play i care about what's actually going
23:58to be you know what i mean i'm exhausted and this session it feels like i am trying to swim through mud
24:06but whether seven thinks i'm literally the best producer in the world or the worst producer in
24:10the world does not affect my money my career anything that i have going in real life i have
24:15multiple number one records like i i've already proven i do this for real
24:20it's tommy we have 10 minutes we can't control it no
24:38you better motherfucking sing that shit but that's that right there that's the hook
24:42we need an extra like a couple hours to work on it all right i guess that's it
24:50how was everybody's uh room today it was a hard day it was just a day where
25:03the synergy it was like elusive and we couldn't grab it today's just been like a a different day yeah
25:10and i could not get into it you know what i'm saying like y'all are not the only ones i think we
25:14felt the same way in our room i loved my room today like it was the first time that you know
25:19i was able to work with these two amazing creatives yes yes yes i feel like we were able to like
25:26tap into something really special today for sure right wrong we were on the zoom with la he was saying
25:31love the word unanimous popped in my mind unanimous yeah unanimous unanimous unanimous should we hear it yes
25:39we're making babies like the way me the beach you know it tastes good the drums sound great and i ain't never
25:52giving half to you half to you you know that you cover all the checklist you do come on trey you know we
26:05fully in agreement when we get this close ain't no point in leaving when we locked and loaded deeper than the
26:12feeling and feeling and we can't control it no no we go old deep unanimous we're both big freaks
26:23unanimous how i feel about you is how you feel about me yeah that's unanimous
26:33when i hear unanimous my first instinct is is the title too smart you know is it too big of a word
26:41for pop music when i hear the chorus i'm like they did it perfectly and it makes me love the title
26:48even more so in my head i'm thinking i wish that we had taken more of a risk in our session because
26:54we just we don't have it today that's baby making music right there i loved it i thought there's no
26:59way to make the word unanimous sexy i will say tommy was not in our room very much today he was in our
27:07room helping us knock it out too we could have used him help his help too i feel like it's tough
27:13writing for somebody that has so many multi-genre hits and also care so much about yes i've never
27:21written r&d at all right so it's just not something i'm comfortable with and so that kind of maybe put
27:26us a step behind already from the get-go and maybe it's great but at least in that moment that's how we
27:31felt
27:39do i like you in the dress yes are you the motherfucking best yes would i ever let you go no do i want to
27:49take you hope i think location is like a four out of ten maybe a five i don't love this song like i
28:16don't i don't think it's special but you know win some lose some drop that low low low location
28:25that bounce in that pocket is so different yeah yeah we didn't know where it was gonna go and that's
28:29what yeah neither do we even though i co-wrote this record i just there's i would not pitch this song to
28:36usher that's crazy i'm being real i just wouldn't l.a reid please don't give me i respect that honestly i
28:42feel like our songs really suffered because i can't sing that kind of no that's true stop hating
28:47on yourself honestly like us hating on our songs that's what makes us great like i feel like that's
28:52why we show up for like nine out of ten is not good enough like you need it to be an 11. i'm gonna
28:58personally take responsibility for my room i think it starts with the producer y'all should have had a
29:02better producer you should have a better producer yeah y'all should have had a better because you
29:07suck oh my god damn kick somebody when they down let's hear it let's hear it i don't want to be
29:17comfortable
29:23the one you choose i don't want to be comfortable
29:43that's it that's all we got crazy i love that we wanted to push ourselves beyond what it was that
30:01we heard from him before we struggle with like finding the concept that we feel like usher needed
30:08because for me i'll be personal i don't want to be comfortable with you it doesn't naturally sing
30:13like i don't know if i want to sing that and dance to that so far this camp is not a reflection of
30:20our talent what we're capable of doing and i hope somebody here has a hit for usher because if we
30:26leave this camp without a hit like it's not a great look so at this point it's kind of a team effort
30:31jenna how's the day for you it's been interesting for me because i'm not the type of person that's pushy
30:37i'm a team player i'm always like y'all you caught you guys are cool so i stay quiet it's not
30:41necessarily the most rewarding feeling because i'm like it it makes me feel a little weird because
30:46i'm like i'm just sitting here truth be told you have to learn how you work with other people and what
30:52what our strengths and our weaknesses are to me it's like never a pushy thing because it always ruins
30:57the energy of a room right because it's i don't want to be comfortable with being comfortable with you
31:03that makes no sense but
31:14oh this one's all on y'all going barefoot yeah who walks on the beach with shoes
31:19tommy barefoot barefoot yes get them toes in the sand tommy let them dogs breathe
31:25oh we gotta pick the seats nothing like a hot fire on a hot night how cute this is so special look at
31:33this hey let's go hey y'all damn y'all oh oh no you gotta take your little gucci and your pradas off
31:41i'm excited to write again for usher tomorrow like i feel like yeah me too today we was like
31:47people you know just got in town and like there's a lot going on i feel like a lot of conversations
31:52were had that needed to be had that's important because i mean we can't glaze over
31:56i feel like the sessions got more honest yeah yeah i wanted to like have a chat with you because
32:04these three camps i've been fighting right literally battling everything that's happening
32:12outside my finances going through a breakup feeling like maybe like i don't deserve to be here and i heard
32:21that the night of the session that i had a rough time that like you were talking about the way that
32:30people treated me having that like moment or you felt like you know it's like they would have ripped
32:37you apart for it and that they were being like light on me is what i heard all right let me explain
32:43something to you i didn't know you as good as i know you and the thing is is the next session was in
32:47nashville we did country country and i'm like this motherfucker's cold as fuck the nashville camp
32:53changed a lot for me because not only did i get to work with you but i also like got to know you
32:58better as a person it's gotten blown out of course because it wasn't like i don't like trey or i don't
33:03think crazy good i'm like i know train's good here's where i'll stop you i want to be very clear
33:09about the issue that i have here this was never a conversation that you and i had if you have something
33:15to say to say it to me hearing that you're right like third party was like really fucked up
33:25you you're totally right and that that's on me i didn't mean to make you feel a certain type of way
33:30or make you make you feel like i was talking behind your back but i want you to know i won't make
33:35that mistake again good because i will tell you this now it will ruin our relationship i just want
33:43to make sure that everybody's okay over there you guys been talking this whole time yeah everything's
33:48good literally we just had a conversation about like a conversation that happened that was about me
33:54in the bahamas in the bahamas and this is for everybody if there's ever like a situation or you
34:00feel some type of way with me please come talk to me because like i respect and i love everybody and
34:06if you got to say that can help me be better i appreciate that i don't want to hear third
34:12party like that for me i will pull up on you real quick come on yes trey come a long way from the
34:19bahamas he's coming for blood right now for everything he's like i'm gonna come out here and
34:23write smashes and i'm gonna check people and i love it i love that for him any more kumbaya anybody
34:28wants to get out this is so cute i know i know this is so nice
34:55let's check this out jewelry wow oh i want every shiny thing here we go how much is something like
35:07this 14 14 what okay 14 k pesos and dollars oh dollars okay i think yesterday was a bit daunting
35:18for some people i think we've been working really hard and i think that you know it was kind of tough
35:22for us and so it's good that we're taking a break today yes going downtown do some shopping your
35:27favorite thing absolutely my favorite thing to do you know how i spend money like water you do we need
35:32a little retail therapy seven you like this let me see no that's hard yeah that's hard i love that
35:39i think it has your name on it i want to get a jesus piece because i don't have like a just a classic
35:44jesus piece something like that yeah oh i got the lapis lazuli super power right here i'm ready for the
35:52magic thank you are we getting food while we're out because i'm hungry
35:57it is so pretty is that a house or is that that cannot be a house that's a house i think you need
36:12to buy that house for me maybe i will what i need to do well first thing you need to do is be sweet
36:21i am sweet you are sweet but i think you'd be sweeter okay you want a house like this is maximum
36:25sweet what a vibe what a vibe i'm obsessed i don't even know where we're going we're going
36:31wherever the food is how about that okay okay oh this is nice yeah this is sick i'm so hungry
36:40litra litra starving should we do a quick cheers to be out of the house yes glad that we get some
36:48time to shop and hang out cheers guys happy to be here with all of y'all so happy i'm kind of tired
36:57it's like so much pressure to write so quickly and i think the session yesterday with seven i'm like
37:02i love seven i think she is amazing but it's hard for us to i think find a great connection
37:09what was going on in that session when you felt like okay i need a break it started with us
37:14uh we struggle with trying to find just the foundation for the music like which direction
37:20we want to go what we wanted that to feel like and i'm learning steven is a what do you guys think
37:25type of yeah building the production right yeah he was waiting for us kind of to like lead the charge
37:30yes yes like we're not like collaborating like this is just like you writing so why am i even in the
37:38room and i'm just frustrated and kind of bored if i'm being real yeah no i know that feeling i mean
37:44obviously the song turned out cool but i don't think it was like a hit like that no for you for
37:48sure not no definitely not and that's the thing that's shitty because i'm like we write hits like
37:52i'm like yes we do how many times like i met you writing butter so like that's the thing that
37:56pisses me off about this whole because i'm like coming out of a session not feeling that euphoria
38:01especially when you don't feel like you've got to express your ideas is really like disheartening for me
38:06i'm not necessarily being the alpha in the room i'm giving her the space to do what she does but
38:11i'm not like not expressing myself she's a people pleaser yes yeah and she wants to be of assistance
38:19so much that i don't think she gives herself time enough so to sort through her own thoughts yeah
38:26so it's always what do you think is what do you think about that what do you think is and it's like
38:30if you don't have an idea every five minutes that's okay period because i we don't it's
38:36impossible i need more champagne why is this making you so mad i'm not mad i'm just like this
38:41is crazy like i feel like my girlfriend is the most powerful woman i know my whole thing is like
38:46why can't you just go to seven be like i'm not doing this i'm rich i'm successful i have 500 hits
38:52i've broken nine million artists like i'm not doing this like it's crazy to me i'm over this
38:58i hate the idea of just walking out and her thinking a bitch just because i feel like we
39:03weren't gelling this is like some insanity i want the out of here what do you mean
39:19burn it
39:26burn it all down
39:28call me your choice
39:30burn it all down
39:33burn burn burn burn it all
