00:00Carnival traditions are something that's extremely important for the community

00:04and cause people together from all walks of life and they they just gel. You talk to people you

00:11would never have ordinarily talked to. They just rock up and they say oh hello who are you from

00:16and laugh laugh laugh at what's lovely. Well that's it. And then we're Brexil Lions and we're very new

00:22members actually and um thrilled to be part of it all. Just enjoyed being here and so pleased the

00:28sun's come out. Yes definitely. Yes and I'm new too. First time we've ever done the Carnival. Yes.

00:34Hopefully we'll do it again. I'm Trudy Hampson from Warming Up the Homeless. We're a community

00:40charity and community is at the heart of what we do and of course we take part in the local

00:47community of Brexil Carnival. It's an important part of what we do. It's all part of our children

00:53of them growing up and being part of a bigger community which is sadly lacking in England today.

01:01Hi my name is Matt Mitchell. I'm the facilities manager at Mays House Veterans Home. We've decided

01:06to join the Carnival today. We haven't done it for many years. All the residents took part in putting

01:11all the decorations together as well as some of the staff. It's taken a long time to get it together

01:16as you can see and we've been at it first thing this morning and it's been going on until we got down

01:21here and we're looking forward to enjoying it. We have some of our residents, some of our veterans

01:25have been in the vehicle at the moment and hopefully they'll have a great day to enjoy the Carnival.

01:30This is the Bexhill 100's entry this year for the Bexhill Carnival. The theme is music through the ages

01:41and we're doing the sort of the 30s, 40s, that era but we've been doing this for many years now. It's

01:48very important to Bexhill that people come along and support events like this. It's a community

01:57spirit and we're all volunteers and we all love doing it.
