Trump Says U.S. Nearing Possible Trade Deal With China

The U.S. is in the process of completing a trade deal with China, according to U.S. President Donald Trump.

00:00U.S. President Donald Trump says the U.S. is nearing a possible trade deal with China.

00:06And we're in the process of completing our deal with China.

00:12And as you know, the U.K., we've made a deal. It was a very good deal for everybody.

00:16Everybody's happy. It's always nice when everybody can be happy.

00:20But mostly we'll be charging straight tariffs to most of the rest of the world.

00:28The comments come as Trump touts a series of trade deals across Asia

00:33and as the August 12th deadline for an agreement with Beijing fast approaches.

00:38Chinese and U.S. officials are scheduled to meet in Sweden next week to keep those talks moving forward.

00:44Trump also said Washington is negotiating with the European Union,

00:48aiming to lower tariffs if the U.S. opens more of its markets to U.S. businesses.
