Do you mind just introducing yourself first?
00:02
My name's Sue Cameron. I'm the Park Supervisor.
00:05
Brilliant. How long have you been in Oswestry for?
00:07
In Oswestry for about 55 years.
00:11
Brilliant. Where did you move from?
00:13
Llanamana.
00:14
Wonderful. What do you like about Oswestry?
00:17
The people. All very friendly.
00:20
Brilliant. What would you recommend people to come out and see here in Oswestry?
00:24
The park, obviously. That's one thing.
00:27
There's quite a few nice shops, little personal shops.
00:31
Brilliant. Is there anything in particular, any businesses in particular you'd want people to try out?
00:39
I think the cafes.
00:42
What events do you have on here?
00:44
We do have lots of bands in here on a Sunday.
00:48
We have the Balloon Festival.
00:50
In the park itself we do have Crazy Golf, Five Side Football, Tennis Courts,
00:57
and Balling.
00:58
Yes.
00:59
But yes, lots of things for the old people and for the young people.
01:03
So, a very good play area and a big field.
01:08
So, yep.
01:09
Do you mind just introducing yourself?
01:11
Hi, I'm Trina from Tom Tree Farm.
01:13
I sell cheese, jams, chutneys and eggs from my farm.
01:17
Perfect. Where's the farm based?
01:19
Just outside Whitchurch, a little place called Lower Heap.
01:22
Wonderful.
01:23
How often are you here in Oswestry then?
01:25
Pretty much every Wednesday.
01:26
I'd say every Wednesday, but I'll get some stick for that.
01:29
Because if the weather is bad...
01:31
Most Wednesdays.
01:32
Most Wednesdays, yeah.
01:33
Yes.
01:34
I've been here for about seven, eight years.
01:35
Wonderful.
01:36
Yeah.
01:37
What about Oswestry in particular?
01:38
The people.
01:39
It's not the nearest market to me.
01:42
It takes me a good sort of 45, 50 minutes, but I love the people.
01:47
I love the traders.
01:48
I love the atmosphere.
01:49
I love everything about it.
01:50
I've got a lot of good customers and a good following and I just love coming.
01:54
Yeah, perfect.
01:55
Is there any way in particular in Oswestry that you'd recommend people to come and have a look at?
01:58
The bar, the market itself.
01:59
I bought food stalls.
02:00
Yes, of course.
02:01
Of course.
02:02
I know Aroma, that's a lovely cafe.
02:05
It's very, very popular.
02:07
Lots of people use that as a sort of a socialising kind of place.
02:13
Sit down, have a coffee, have a chat.
02:15
I'm just trying to think of any other places really.
02:18
But as I don't leave the stall very often, I don't know massively.
02:23
I know there's a fantastic Jewelers opposite Aroma as well.
02:26
And like I say, lots of good stalls.
02:27
Yeah, perfect.
02:28
Anything else about Oswestry that you'd like to mention?
02:34
I don't know.
02:35
No, that's okay.
02:36
I just, I don't know.
02:37
It's, yeah, I think it's just the people.
02:40
Since I've been coming, I've been here, like I said, seven or eight years.
02:43
Everybody's so supportive.
02:45
Everybody's so kind.
02:46
You know, if I need to pop to the toilet or if I need something to look out to my stall.
02:51
Everyone's so trustworthy.
02:53
And we did the Food and Drink Festival recently.
02:56
Yes.
02:57
Which was amazing.
02:58
It was a fantastic weekend.
03:00
And I still really loved it.
03:02
It was brilliant.
03:03
Perfect.
03:05
Brilliant.
03:10
Do you mind introducing yourself?
03:11
Yes, sure.
03:12
I'm Rosie.
03:13
I'm the manager, one of the managers here at Booker Bookshop.
03:15
Worked here for over ten years now.
03:18
One of the things I love about Oswestry is like all the great independent businesses we have.
03:24
There's a fantastic community of businesses.
03:26
And we all support each other.
03:28
And there's loads on, like whether you've got little kids or you're visiting as a tourist.
03:34
Or you live here.
03:35
There's always like something for everyone.
03:37
Yeah.
03:38
And just nice vibes.
03:39
Yeah.
03:40
Are there any businesses in particular that you'd recommend people to come out and try?
03:44
Oh, a difficult one.
03:45
Well, obviously here at the bookshop, we always love to welcome new people and current customers.
03:50
We've got Honeysuckle down the road, which is an organic whole food shop.
03:55
It's been there for like 40 odd years.
03:56
Yeah.
03:57
We have got, let me see, Pickles across the road.
04:01
It's a really nice gift shop.
04:03
We've got some fantastic small businesses like, we've got the Willow Gallery as well.
04:09
It's an art gallery, an art space.
04:11
We've got Designs in Mind too, and they have a little shop.
04:14
So they take like referrals from mental health prescriptions and stuff like that.
04:21
So people can come and enjoy the space and do some creative stuff.
04:24
Yeah.
04:25
Perfect.
04:26
Do you mind just introducing yourself?
04:27
I'm Glen Jones.
04:28
Yeah.
04:29
How long have you lived in Oswestry for?
04:31
All my life, 88 years.
04:33
Wonderful.
04:34
Yeah.
04:35
What do you like about Oswestry?
04:36
Hard to say really.
04:39
It's just a friendly town.
04:41
Yeah?
04:42
Yeah.
04:43
Have you ever thought about moving away anywhere else?
04:45
No.
04:46
No.
04:47
No.
04:48
Does Oswestry have everything that you need?
04:50
Yes.
04:51
Yeah.
04:52
Yeah.
