00:00Meta is rolling out new protections to keep teens safer on Instagram and Facebook, especially in DMs.
00:06When teens start a new chat, they'll now see safety tips front and center,
00:10along with tools to block or report accounts right away.
00:14Instagram will also show the month and year the account was created, helping flag anything suspicious.
00:20Meta has also added a one-tap option to block and report together.
00:23It says it flags potentially suspicious behavior, like adults messaging lots of teens,
00:29which then triggers safety alerts.
00:31And it sounds like Meta's safety notices are working.
00:34In June alone, users blocked one million accounts and reported another million after seeing them.
00:40It's all part of a broader crackdown.
00:42Meta says it removed nearly 135,000 Instagram accounts earlier this year for sexualizing children,
00:48plus another half a million linked accounts across Instagram and Facebook.
00:53That'll do it for your daily briefing.
